  1. It's a good question. Bottom line is if we don't gain financially from their members attending our game then I would want to limit how many of them get into the ground. We should take any advantage we can get.
  2. Hi DJ. I was thinking along the lines of all of the Richmond fans that attend are likely to be season ticket holders and therefore of no financial gain to us anyway. Better to keep them out of the ground and have a higher ratio of our fans in attendance on the night.
  3. Leaving the finances aside for a moment, as we seem to have a finite membership base and have first dibs at buying tickets wouldn't a 75% attendance limit on Saturday night just prevent 25,000 Richmond members from getting into the ground ?
  4. Just turned on the Sydney v GWS local derby (pronounced darby) and by my count there are around 10 giants fans in the entire crowd. At this rate they must be close to reaching peak insignificance.
  5. It's interesting to read how we all interpret each game as part of a broader picture. Through experience I've found that riding the anticipation, grief and joy of each game works best for me and the future will take care of itself. In terms of our football club at least it's totally out of my control anyway so why worry about it ? Being brought up on a code that extends for 10 months of the year I've always found an AFL season to be all so brief in comparison and every weekend of it to be cherished and lived to the full so I'm not going to spoil this one by worrying about the next two. This season will be over before we know it otherwise.
  6. Two key starters down has me feeling that I'll be happy to just get the W this week. Melky seems the most suitable stand-in for Fritta so it's maybe fortunate that we gave him a run last week in hindsight.
  7. Whoever isn't a star is either a legend or a champion. Many of our game's commentators have small vocabularies unfortunately and think hyperbole can fill in the gaps. I'm sure I can actually feel my brain cells dying just listening to some of them.
  8. M34. Bottom deck of the Ponsford.
  9. Yeah, fair enough. I wouldn't mind having adidas make our kit and have the three red stripes running down each side under the armpits and down the side of the shorts. New Balance are a bit naff.
  10. Hi DL. I thought we had a royal blue with a red back we occasionally wore. Maybe against the dogs ? Could be wrong though. I’m fine with royal blue when we clash.
  11. 100% navy blue. Royal blue with red back when we clash. No white, no grey and no tacky looking demon logo plastered all over the front.
  12. Glenn Bartlett = resigned Clarry = re-signed
  13. Looks like premium season ticket holders can be seated on L1 which I'd guess to be our usual away game area in the Ponsford. Regular season ticket holders get access to the site from 1pm tomorrow for GA seats.
  14. Was probably my favourite player of that era BDA. I used to chat to him a bit after training down at the Junction Oval, mostly about football and although he was a Celtic man he did go to Ibrox to see us beat Dundee 4-0 in a game on one of his end of season visits back to Glasgow so fair play to him.
  15. Just as concerning is his second concussion in a very short time. If he doesn't show any symptoms in the coming days then he should at least be able to train normally without contact which will at least keep his fitness up until the fracture heals.
  16. Just finding the time to watch the replay of the game and have got up to where Maysie got hit. It looked completely accidental to me and I liked how Hawkins went over to see how he was and apologise. I remember a few years ago T-Mac was interviewed and he was asked about the hardest forwards he's had to play on as a defender. He mentioned Hawkins but said he found him to be a good guy, even said he apologised for stepping on Tommy's foot by accident in one game. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery.
  17. It's a miserable day out there but I've had a good feeling about this game all week. A Japanese breakfast at CIBI in Collingwood will kick start the day to be followed by meander down and around Smith St for a couple of autumnal ales on the way to the G. Should be a good one.
  18. A win like this could reinvigorate their season. Very disappointing.
  19. I'd prefer them to have a long slow painful death.
  20. I think we missed an opportunity to really touch up the saints.
  21. Looks like Footscray against Fitzroy at an old suburban ground.
  22. We're moving the ball really sluggishly and can't seem to get the ball inside 50. Not looking good for us at the moment.
  23. I think it's a Native American name P2J. I've heard of Brian Eno but not Brian Mono. Or did you mean Brian Lake ?
