  1. I think the Suns burnt up all their hydrogen and collapsed under their own weight a few years ago but the light just hasn't reached us yet.

Had my first AZ shot a few weeks ago. The following day every bone in my body ached and I was super lethargic ( I think this is just my immune system kicking in against the vaccine so a good thing? ). Couldn't get off the sofa the entire day. The next day I was back to normal and at the G for the Carlton game. I have no issues about getting the second jab. Get the jab but not the day before the Dees play.
  3. It might be time to change the title of this thread to Rival Clubs Running Rings around Weideman.
  4. Hi Pates. The thing with Kardinia Park is that demand outstrips supply down there so they are guaranteed 40,000 full season ticket holders with reserved seats year after year. As a product it also helps that they pretty much know what they're going to get for their money. Anyone that doesn't renew falls to the back of the waiting list. The money is already banked whether the ground is empty or full on any given weekend. We however play in a cavernous coliseum that's double the size of our membership who are offered the footballing equivalent of a mystery flight every week.
  5. I'm clearly no expert but on the subject of Geelong making the decision to play without fans next week virtually the entire ground is made up of paid up members with reserved seats so having bums on them would make no difference in a financial sense. Of course they would lose out on things like catering and corporate activities planned for the game but that could be offset by additional advertising draped over those empty seats for prime time Friday night tv exposure.
  6. Gee whizz. We were poor all over the ground today. Dogga was great and Max lifted after half time but that was it. A shop store mannequin would be more value than Sam Weideman right now but I guess we shouldn't lose sight of the fact that he did have a great game in a final three years ago. I'd like to think that immersing myself in the European Championships for the next couple of weeks will be the distraction I need to get over this game but I'll be supporting Scotland so no reprieve there.
  7. Oops, wrong thread ?‍♂️
  8. And who said you don't learn anything on these threads. Thanks Gorgoroth.
  9. She's dipping into the state pork barrelling fund. Yankalilla Bowling Club will just have to wait a little longer for their upgrade.
  10. I'll be taking advantage of the single social buddy rule to have a fellow coterie member over for the game. The forecast is for light winds and sun so the plan is to drag the tv and one of the sofas onto the deck. Today's beer will be Mack Daddy from Moondog Brewery as we're now officially in winter.
  11. Wow. I have no idea what the first three of those things are but it all sounds impressive. Enjoy the day Josh.
  12. Right, time for my beauty sleep. Gonna be a big day tomorrow. Hasta mañana!
  13. Not a bad weekend of football. Even the rubbish games at least went to the wire. Gee Damien Hardwick is insufferable.
  14. Maybe the final straw was losing their home town full forward to our reserves team.
  15. True. There's more life in the average graveyard than Hobart on a Sunday. I can guarantee the crowd will be bigger at the New Sydney Hotel on Bathurst St when it opens at 4pm.
  16. Is this a covid reduced crowd at Blundstone or has Tasmania just officially given up on North ?
  17. I like the predominantly yellow Adelaide guernsey much more than their home version. The game itself though is rubbish and fitting of it's backwater venue.
  18. For the advocates of increasing the finals series to include a wildcard game (and the 21st century trend of rewarding mediocrity) there's every chance it could be played by these two teams.

Whereas the gymnasts are prepared to bend over backwards in their efforts and will be doing cartwheels if they go ahead.

Is that what you call a punchline?

Australia is supposed to have the strictest quarantine entry requirements of any country and the federal government are in charge of it. If this had been fixed at the source then there would have been little need for the states with their differing health laws to get involved. All countries have official entry requirements whether that be a visa, proof of an outbound ticket, enough money to cover your stay without working or a particular inoculation to give a few examples. All reputable airlines are super switched on about this because if they fly anyone into a country where they don't meet all of the rules then they have to fly them back to where they first boarded (at the airline's expense) and are fined around $US10k. All the federal government needed to do when this all kicked off last February was to make it a mandatory requirement for anyone boarding a flight to Australia to enter 2 weeks of quarantine on arrival. Anyone that doesn't agree gets stopped at check in before they can board. Period. Again there should have been a remote facility constructed that could house all of the arrivals in one place that's relatively close to an airfield. It wouldn't be the Sofitel but if you want to get home that badly then you'll suck it up in order to spend the foreseeable future in our hermetically sealed country. Yes it would require key workers to spend periods of time away but they already do this at places like Uluru Resort, El Questro in the remote northwest of WA and even Mawson Base down in Antarctica so it's not like it's an alien concept.
  22. I think I'll be cheering for the Swans tonight to keep as big a gap between the top four and Richmond as possible.
  23. Just checked Jetstar and you'd be looking at around $230 for a same day return, coming back on their latest flight at 7.20pm.
