- Gary Pert on SEN (17/8/24)
Who said I expected him to say anything else? Or say anything at all for that matter. I'm not part of the angry mob demanding answers or that heads roll.- Gary Pert on SEN (17/8/24)
I merely said it was waffle. Which it was. You disagree?- Gary Pert on SEN (17/8/24)
Mostly waffle.- Jack Viney Extends Contract Until 2028
It's ironic that North's problems all started when they jettisoned most of their veteran leaders.- Farewell Alex Neal-Bullen
- Tim English
Hi Dingo. He's hinted himself that he took less than market value when he signed his last contract in order to ensure there was enough left in the kitty to re-sign the likes of Gus and Vines to long term deals when other clubs were sniffing around them both. He might only have one year left on that contract (I think?) but I think he could play for another three at a high level, making it less than likely that we target another No.1 ruckman for at least two of those years.- Tim English
Maxy took unders on his last contract so we could re-sign our other stars on long deals and will play for another 3 years if he remains uninjured. I actually thought that Petts did really well playing as our tall marking outlet from defence when Max dropped back.- What was your excuse?
If our members are genuinely not turning up for some of the ridiculous reasons I've been reading on here today then we should definitely be dishing out finals tickets based on how many games you turn up to and not how much money your membership costs.- What was your excuse?
We'll always get our 10 home games at the G, Dr G. They will just be in horrible time slots if we're stinking it up.- NON-MFC: Round 22
Carlton, Collingwood and Essendon to finish 9th, 10th & 11th. AFL might have to extend Wildcard Round to 12 teams.- NON-MFC: Round 22
I only saw the last quarter and a bit EH but they were giving me Dees 1987 finals vibes as they couldn't do a thing wrong. Like when we steamrolled North and Sydney at the G in consecutive weeks.- NON-MFC: Round 22
I'd be happy to have an extra game I could attend too BBP. As most of our supporter base prefer to watch us on TV however perhaps it's better we pocket the $800k.- NON-MFC: Round 22
Richmond home game at Marvel whilst Marvel tenant Carlton play a home game at the G. Marvel is where we'd be playing if we brought our Alice Springs game home.- NON-MFC: Round 22
Poor old Carlton. Said nobody ever.- Revisionist History - Luke Jackson to Freo
Had no intention of staying and some might argue he'd already checked out during his final year with us. Hasn't pulled on the red & blue jumper for almost two years now. Won a flag which will hopefully be his last. Time to let it go.- NON-MFC: Round 22
Just turned on the footy to see that Carlton are getting humped and Curnow has just hobbled off the ground. As Bruce McAveney might stay. Delicious!- What was your excuse?
I walked up to Ardeer (rail replacement buses on the Watergardens line) to catch a v-line service and when I boarded they announced that it was a 'football special' service that went express straight to Southern Cross in 15 minutes. It went right past the line of schmucks waiting for replacement buses at Sunshine station. It was also three quarters empty with nobody wearing any football colours onboard. MCG concourse was like a ghost town, just like the Giants game. We had our entire row in N53 to ourselves and no lines for anything inside the ground. It wasn't even cold as I sat in a jumper without a jacket for the entire night. Even the unavoidable replacement bus on the way home was full of sad sack Essendon supporters. It was a Kolt set shot away from being a perfect night.- POSTGAME: Rd 22 vs Port Adelaide
As has already been said, a great effort but poor execution cost us another very winnable game. Port's skill level was barely any better. I feared we'd get touched up tonight so don't feel too bad. Hard to see where we were going to get our goals if not for Kozzie though. Another pathetic turn out for another home game meant no queues at the bar or the loo again.- GAMEDAY: Rd 22 vs Port Adelaide

Didn't see the interview you're referring to ET but what you say reminds me of Rick Lever giving off similar media sound bites whilst still at the Crows when in reality our recruiting department had been working on getting him to the Dees six months out from his eventual move.
