  1. Hi DeeZone. No, I'm just looking at the facts. He wanted out but we're holding him to his contract. He's a winner and he wants success. If he can't get it with us he'll try and get it somewhere else. That's fine, but I don't have to like or admire him for it. I don't know why anyone else is bothered about what I think about him to be honest. It's just an opinion like everyone else's on here.
  2. Hi Luci. I don't mean fortunes in the monetary sense but rather the luck / chance version of the word. To me, the discussion on here about BP5 is more about why we should / shouldn't see him as any different to others that will be pulling on the red & blue guernsey in 2025. I think there is a subtle distinction to be made, certainly in regards to his peers at the club. In Max and Jack they see their legacy as being intrinsically linked to the MFC. Max re-signed for unders to help keep our best players and as per his post game interview in the GC game Vines never seriously considered taking up North's cheeky contract offer. Wasn't he reported as saying he would make us pay if we didn't draft him? As supporters this is what we love to see. I think the recent events have shown (to me anyway) that Trac's own legacy will be based on his success in the game irrespective of where he needs to play his football to get it. I hope this makes what I'm trying to say a little bit clearer but apologies if not. I don't have an axe to grind with the bloke. I'm just trying to articulate why I see him a little differently now.
  3. Guys like Max and Vines have hitched their footballing fortunes to those of the Melbourne Football Club. They are one and the same. Christian Petracca's fortunes are hitched to Christian Petracca, who happens to have a 7 year contract with the Melbourne Football Club. Same same but different.
  4. I hear ya rpfc but it is the silly season so if someone wants to make a pantomime villain out of a sports personality that's been a bit of a tw@t I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.
  5. Whichever way you lean regarding BP5, voicing that opinion on here is hardly going to affect his decision making or demeanour regarding the MFC. I mean, if you had his social media content manager would you spend any time on here?
  6. It looks like we've decided to go in a different direction after recruiting a couple of bruise free forwards in recent years.
  7. If this was the only thing he ever did for us he should be awarded life membership of the MFC immediately after the game.
  8. They get a medal for being the No.1 draft pick?
  9. We actually played the Saints at Traeger during the hub, just prior to the two Cairns games (I think) BP5 scored the winning goal that just crept over the goal line (no cameras on the line).
  10. FWIW I don’t mind No.31 posting in our forum. He clearly has a soft spot for us and it’s sometimes good to get an outside read on things and the little bit of niggle he sometimes gives is usually given back without any malice so fair play to him. I really can’t stand Carlton though.
  11. Nothing wrong with a rebranding per se. They’ll now have a heritage guernsey to wear. The new logo, if legit, is putrid though, in my opinion.
  12. Initial thoughts are that we managed to dodge Darwin (although everyone bar Collingwood will roll through there at some point you'd think), disappointed personally that we don't play in Hobart, Geelong away is at least leads into a weekend with an increased away team support allocation of tix. I was under the mistaken assumption that as the only real MCG home team we'd receive 10 home games there and avoid Docklands as long as we sold our 11th game to Alice Springs but as someone has already pointed out, now that the AFL own the stadium they are probably looking to have all Melbourne based sides play home games there much in the way they all did back in the days of VFL Park.
  13. Whoever ghost writes his post football memoir will have earned their fee.
  14. If it makes anyone feel better he signed on with the filth for 6 years. Imagine the meltdowns on here if we'd done that. Actually, we probably did and he was scared we'd hold him to it if he tried to get out after 2 years.
  15. If he's that easily spooked Collingwood are welcome to him. Bring on the draft.
  16. Suburban cricketer masquerading as an AFL footballer, unfortunately. He'll undoubtedly be a winner in other aspects of his life going forward. Good luck to him.
  17. Any truth to the rumour that GWS initially tried to trade the blow up doll to Essendon for Stringer but in the end included it as part of his salary package?
  18. And 50% of his alimony payments.
  19. Well, two and a half players to be precise.
  20. True. There’s also ex Dees that moved on to other clubs after the story dropped. Allegedly.
  21. Moves from Sodom to Gomorrah on a six year contract.
  22. We should stop posting on this thread until there is a bona fide request from him to leave. I get heart palpitations every time I see it bumped up near the top of the Recent Topic list.
