  1. I'm quite enjoying this banter between 1975 and 2024.
  2. Looks like the boys circled Perth in as a holiday on the calendar instead of another business trip.
  3. Hi 640MD. I remember him. He wore a torn up old red & blue cap to our games and was part of the 'grog squad' that stood behind the cheer squad with Ian Ball and 'Animal' in the 1980's. I started running the CS with some friends from around the mid 80's when we sat near the race in the Northern Stand. From memory our immediate predecessors were the Galvins and a guy called Peter Burley? It sounds like you were from the era before them maybe?
  4. Blues still over 100%. Disappointing.
  5. LOL. At this rate Carlton will finish this weekend 10th with a % under 100.
  6. Absolutely TC. You won't see them up in the NT again anytime soon. Bet on it.
  7. A roofed stadium would help deal with the humidity and temperature problem. We could get out of playing there however by agreeing to an annual clash in Alice Springs (for our usual $800k fee of course).
  8. You can just about guarantee that avoiding a game up there will be on every 'big' Victorian team's fixture wish list for 2025.
  9. Should be a fun 1am red eye flight back to Melbourne for the cats.
  10. If Cats lose by 100 points will Scott mention the opposition in his presser? 😂
  11. Darwin Suns. Promote Southport Sharks from VFL to AFL and move them into Carrara. Twenty team competition.
  12. Looks like we broke the 2024 cats 😂
  13. I think Richmond's poor performances make it harder to tell if Dusty could play a restricted but dynamic short term role for a better side. It's more likely he walks into the sunset at season's end than to the Suns.
  14. Has Narrm won a game yet?
  15. You couldn't really see Brisbane making top four now with three and a half wins out of nine games. It's probably down to seven sides now as Essendon won't be there either.
  16. So far Essendon have beaten the teams sitting 11, 12, 14, 15 & 16 on the ladder and drawn with 9. Three of their wins by a combined 13 points. Their next three are against teams sitting 18, 17 & 10. Even a loss today could still see them with 8.5 wins out of 12 games.
  17. Saints finding their natural level.
  18. Avoid any media coverage. Period.
  19. I really miss having Gus in our midfield rotation. A midfield of Gawn, Viney, Petracca, Oliver, Brayshaw, Langdon and Windsor would be the footballing equivalent of facing Marshall, Holding, Croft, Garner, Ambrose, Walsh & Roberts.
  20. I'm taking solace in the fact that Carlton's very best can beat us by a kick whilst our very best would see us tear them a new a-hole.
  21. I'm also a bachelor roy but unlike you have no cat for company. If last night were a Friday I'd be getting out on the bike early doors and punching out 40-50km or going for a swim. The combination of coffee, physical exhaustion and endorphin release are my best friends after a crushing loss. Only then might I venture onto DL to make sense of what happened which I also find cathartic.
  22. Geez that was frustrating to watch. Diabolical for periods but whilst the margin was six goals still thought we were a chance if they tired. Then when the momentum swung our way we went back to our one wood of missing easy goals before having enough possession to win two games of football in the last quarter. Only Melbourne.
  23. My guess is that they've finally decided to grow up and go with a more traditional style guernsey just like the Bears, Port and Dockers eventually did. They'll at least look like a football team.
  24. Blue & white vertical stripes with a kangaroo logo?
