Tasmanian Team
The most enjoyable part of Tasmania having their own stand alone side would be seeing how Jeff Kennett tries to plug the $4 million annual shortfall in his own club's finances whilst simultaneously trying to fund their $130 million elite training facility in Dingley.

James Frawley Retires... And Starts Playing Again
There used to be a time when signing for St Kilda was announcing your retirement.

Gawn: Dees Ready for Success
I'd be happy for the club to can all the shop talk until March then drop a new documentary. Until then Max could talk about something he has a better handle on like jaffles or coffee.

Pies into Petracca?
12 months ago this thread could have been called Petracca into pies.

Pies into Petracca?
Life was so less stressful when we were completely rubbish and nobody tried to poach our players through free agency ??♂️

Pies into Petracca?
Considering our entire squad will be out of contract over the next 5 years maybe we should just live in a perpetual state of anxiety.

Farewell Oscar McDonald
I guess with Oscar gone ANB will get double the love.

Another Footy Frenzy for 2021
In all seriousness I think the only thing I might persist with from this year would be to go 'on the road' for consecutive games. For example away games against Fremantle then Port Adelaide on the way back to Melbourne or a game away against Adelaide before our game in Alice. A couple of these a year would cut down on travel time over the season and give players some quality time together.

And a midfield that can locate him.

Another Footy Frenzy for 2021
I'm not a fan of this 4 week rolling fixture. There's nothing like the certainty of knowing you'll be playing North in Hobart in round 23 sometime between Thursday and Sunday.

Having just read the article it sounds like a complete dogs breakfast to me.

Punt Road redevelopment
I hear ya LDvC. I was a little envious of the pampered dogs that get to p#ss and sh#t all over it every day.

Punt Road redevelopment
I cycled out past Victoria Park today and it looked great. A world away from its days as a VFL venue. Whether it's Richmond or us, all of these developments are only good until the next widening of Punt Road. We might be fine depending on where our facility is located at Goschs but the Tiges would surely need to relocate.

Rumour only file ...
I for one won't be losing any sleep over what Hutchison and Barrett say. They should change the name of their show from The Sounding Board to The Echo Chamber.

Bulldogs & Cats Govt Funding vs MFC
As I understand it both of those grounds are owned by the local authorities. Kardinia Park is a big money spinner for the area and Whitten Oval is a green space that the local community has access to 7 days a week and is attached to a community sports hall managed by Victoria University. I cycle past the ground a lot and it looks like the money spent there has had a really positive effect. I'm sure that once our club has concrete plans signed off and can prove that the space will also be an asset to the local rate payers we'll also be due a government hand out. Unfortunately we're starting from scratch and much of the work done to date has been behind the scenes.

Rumour only file ...
I wonder if it could have been us snatching Treloar at the death if we'd been able to offload Tom. Oh well, they say everything happens for a reason.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Not to mention Slug Jordan and Gags Gallagher that followed him.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Not to mention Alan Jarrott, Shane Zantuck (via South Melb), Brent Crosswell and to a far lesser extent Xavier Tanner.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
I caught a train towards town from Kensington station last year on a day when they were playing at Docklands and it had a fair few Roos fans on it. I'd never seen so many in the one place. They must all live in that Kensington / Flemington / Ascot Vale corridor along with Essendon supporters. It's then pretty much Bombers territory until you get close to Broadmeadows where Collingwood take over.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
It could just be that both clubs have a deal in principle ready to go but want to see how everything else plays out tomorrow before pulling the trigger. I don't think either club have a reputation for playing hard ball.

Farewell Mitch Hannan
I wasn't aware of that Turner. I think we gave him every opportunity to nail down a permanent position during his time with us but if he thinks the grass is greener in Wefo then good luck to him.

Farewell Mitch Hannan
Dogs have sold him the dream of 3 years as a fringe player where we could only offer him 2. In his shoes we’d probably do the same.

Training at the MCG
The best we could hope for might be a single light session on the G a day or two prior to each home game at a time of day that works around any ground maintenance schedules. I think the WA sides get to do this at Optus. The fact that we now train early in the day and could be off the ground before 12 noon might help. They often have lines of grow lamps covering the surface at night, when we used to train there.
