That Dees jumper is so evocative. Single aircraft with contrails at the wings just did some reading and didn’t realise how good Bluey was in the air and that he flew Spitfires in 452 squadron. My grandfather was a f/sgt in 457 so I’ve asked dad if he knows if they knew each other. Pretty limited numbers of Aussie’s flying spitfires so it’d be a thrill if they did.

Grandfather dad side flew Spitfires (not bad for a boy from Tallangatta) and mum’s dad was in the Solomons/PNG as an army engineer and wife’s were coal stokers in the Navy so we’re taking the boys to their first service so they get a sense of it all.

I know it’s early, but gee the ladder looks grim. Need to get a wriggle on, what! I don’t know what’s in the water down at Moorabbin, but I’ll have some, please!
