  1. Just got my scarf and stickers too
  2. Last time I sought the shade but this time the sun, and now a fickle wind. It is fly season in melboure but luckily one of the other track watchers shared the repellent. Thankyou. Only about 20 or so players running around. Windsor did most of the drills but pulled out to do some work on the boundary a couple of times, then back into it. Howes and Sestan had some hamstring? awareness so did some stretching and running on the boundary. Lever was there doing some weirdo stretching exercises then running the boundary to build up fitness. Spargo was also doing similar, but still running in straight lines. Told to concentrate on rhythm and mechanics rather than speed. Hopes to be back in full training after Xmas. Tom Campbell running laps to build fitness. Still hasnt got his proper kit yet, and when you look at the size of him I dont think there will be any spares lying around. Viney leading from the front and addressed the players at one of the breaks. Sparrow and the Roo look like they enjoy training. There was much run and carry through the center and Boweys delivery stood out. TMc in civvies watching on.
  3. Demonland pretty much has got it all covered but... Arrived at 9.45 and cones and coaching staff were in position, awaiting the players. Big news obviously was Clarry in attendance; he was greeted enthusiastically by Goody. I thought one of the players might have been Sharpie, but the Ghost Writer sorted that out for me. It was Tom Couch who has taken up a conditioning coaching role. The boys looked very sharp, carrying the ball through the center for a long kick to JVR, Jeffo for a goal. Some of the boys have that AFL walk, or strut, that appears as arrogance but more likely simply ther affect of all that lower body conditioning. Sprinting back to the boundary line after a drill was noticeable. Choco was in strong and demanding voice. One of the coaches light heartedly called out 'F... Cheat' during one of the competitive drills. Viney was the most senior player training.
  4. I reckon Collingwood should go with a giant C.
  5. fwiw I spoke to one of the candidates for the Glen Eira council, who expressed support for the MFC facilities. They got elected.
  6. Salvador? Cat B rookie or nga prospect
  7. Never has been quite right since he injured his foot. Hoping for a bigger 2025. My highlight was the bump on Sciliy; sat him on his backside....
  8. If posters act like 5yr olds will they still be exempt? (asking for a friend, and you know who you are)
  9. No or not yet. JVR needs a big year or else same old same old. Naturally Fritta aand Turner will do their bit. Get well mate.
  10. Heh D_J can you elaborate on this please. The MRC is a tenant with a lease from the Race Course Trust. And the rent isnt very high. I dont understand how the MRC get a return other than renting out their facilitiess on non racing days. The MFC will also be a tenant with a lease from the RCT.
  11. George, this is what my father said 45 years ago. He hated the MCC. In terms of fund raising, tbh, I think you need a concrete proposal that has a very high chance of actually going ahead before you ask for donations.
  12. Perhaps Houston is homesick, like Kossie? (now I'm talking aabout him)
  13. Why are we talking about Houston in the Kozzie thread.
  14. A key objective of the NGA's is to increase the chances of shafting the Dees.
  15. If I have a criticism of our player management it is that we are too kind to our playing group, especially in terms of length of contracts etc. When you realise you have made a mistake you need to acknowledge and move on quickly. Even in Sams case he got an offer from Essendon and moved on, admittedly with our blessing. All the best Sam.
  16. And if we include facilities for the umps, AFL as well
  17. What??? Its on the telly??? And there i was watching antiques roadshow...
  18. Yeah weak as...no way could I double my body fat.
  19. Apart from playing fields I didnt think we were proposing to build inside the race course, rather on Booran? Rd
  20. Does seem high but we are building a high performance centre for elite footballers (pools, gyms, speialist rooms and probs enclosed court to try out drills in wet weather and behind closed doors etc, plus admin) it should be well north of $60 mill
