Incoming Presidents Message to Members
When I look at the Board Credentials Statement, what they are looking for in the prospective new board member, I reckon it would exclude 99% of members. They are asking for a serious skill set, and fair enough, as footy is a multi million dollar high profile business. However where does that leave us ordinary members and our views?

Whilst the board has not appointed anyone to fill the vacancy so they would be an incumbent at the election, it would appear they do have a preferred candidate in Dan taylor. Can i be the first to say it, Dan from Stan?

Incoming Presidents Message to Members
Dear Fritta and Turner, It’s a great privilege to write to you today to confirm that at the conclusion of the AFLW season I will officially step into the role of President of the Melbourne Football Club. This club has played an important role in my life and I now have the opportunity to give back to the club I love by helping lead us into a new era. I want to acknowledge and thank our outgoing President, Brad Green. Brad’s leadership over the past 12 months speaks volumes about who he is as a person. His commitment and dedication through a period of significant change has been outstanding. Looking ahead, Brad won’t be going far. When I commence as President, Brad will continue to serve on the Board as a Vice President. Under Brad’s leadership, the Board has successfully undertaken a comprehensive review of the AFL program, a Board review to ensure we continue to evolve, appointed Paul Guerra as CEO and Steven King as AFL Senior Coach. Brad led the establishment of a High Performance Committee and a Member Engagement Committee to ensure the Board remains focused on football performance and members. He has also been instrumental in the club’s long-term home base project at the Caulfield Racecourse Reserve. This remains one of our highest priorities. Nominations for the Board are now open. This year, we have one Director vacancy. The Melbourne Football Club is a skills-based Board. This year, we believe the focus for a director is senior leadership and CEO-level experience with skills in branding, marketing, business development and innovation and a deep knowledge of the sports industry. We have published a Board Credentials Statement on the club’s website that provides more detail. I am pleased to announce that Dan Taylor will nominate for the Board. Dan is the Executive Director of Stan, leading both Stan Entertainment and Stan Sport. He is a strategic and commercial leader with extensive experience driving high performance, innovation and growth across technology, media and marketplace businesses. To access the call for nominations and for more details relating to the board election please click here. To finish, I want to thank you for your ongoing support. The board will continue doing everything possible to get us back to the top. Most importantly, right now, we have some finals footy action to look forward to. I hope to see many of you at our AFLW finals over the coming month and again at the AGM and Member Forum on 16 December. Go Dees, Steven Smith

Training Ground?
If you look between the left hand point and goal posts you can see some white rail fencing in the distance. In that general area is where the bbqs are. Also you can just make out a tree. This is an 'enemy' tree. I counted 12 Magpies sitting in it.

Training Ground?
The proposal to relocate the Glasshouse to the guineas car park is at least 2 years old. Not quite sure why it has got legs now. Anyone want a social club?
-
Training Ground?
Thats a very big extension for the Glasshouse. South East Cnr was originally ruled out as it required a tunnel which was too expensive. Still, closer to my place. (fyi the property next to Glen Eira College has a planning permit board out the front for a primary school. If the applicants name is anything to go by it will be a hebrew school, probs associated with Mt Scopus)

Demonstone's Big Bad Bewildering Brain Baffler
Can we have an easier question like 'How many goals will Langford kick in the last quarter of the 2026GF"?
-
Training Ground?
The main access tunnel has height limitations of 2.7 to 3.9m (It is curved but wide with pedestrian and dog access down one side).

List Rankings After the 2025 Trade Period
I think looking at the list 14th is about right. What I am hoping for is some X factor from coach and list changes.

Rumours
I remember North being 1 goal better than us every quarter. Writing was on the wall at 3 quarter time. (The Dees random sitting next to me had come off his dirt bike that morning and was told to go to Emergency to confirm broken leg. Went to the footy instead and lasted till 3 quarter time. Should have seen the colour of his face)

Training Ground?
It was meet a local councillor day at the library so I met one. This is what i got out of the chat and is my opinions/interpretations. Glen Eira is lacking in sports ovals etc so the redevelopment of the middle of the race course is a good thing. MFC having access did not seem to be an issue provided the public had access other times. Glen Eira could manage the booking of the facilities. The original Glen Eira plan for the the MRC land (MT Scopus) was for high rise appartments. MT Scopus is not yet guaranteed to purchase the land and it is an option only. Impression : MFC moving there would be good for the area aand local schools. It is not a major concern.

Laconic - dont you love it. The word that keeps on giving. Ok, he doesnt say much to the point of rudeness, as long as he can get the ball.
