I am not all that upset about the sacking as i knew it was coming after the St Kilda debacle. Did the players know Goody had to present to the board days after? Did they vote with their boots? I am more angry with the playing group tbh. (Not Fritta and Turner ok?) Paul Keating said the Bob Hawke created political capital and he spent it. In my eyes the MFC gained much 'capital' by being unbeatable for like 2 seasons and winning that flag. Won (sic) for the true believers. That capital has now been spent. Norm Smiths, AAs, Club awards etc mean nothing to me; just momentos of a great career. Go wave them at St Kilda. I was pleased to read that Green, Angela Williams, Richardson and Chippindall went personally to Goody to break the news and explain the boards decision. Some decency there. And also that Goodys payout may be spread over 2-3 seasons. Now for a rebuild. If players want to go elsewhere in the twilight of their career, let them go. with due compensation. Clear out all the fringe players and if some are still contracted for next year tell them to start looking elswhere. Goody you are a legend.
