CHANGES 2022
I'm more likely to emphasise changes in style, than players. If players, I want those who are, clean at handling the ball (golden hands), take one bite marks, are good at disposal, have endurance and speed. As for style, I'd like to see the head coach up in the box, so they can see what is needed and not rely on the assistant. We need plans A B C D, etcetera. More shuffling of the board and restructuring the playing style. Plans that create, quick, or slow, or maintain the lead, or get goals, or change the momentum, or reset, types. Not so sure about the lines. Need more players being able to move between forward, mid and back. Therefore, at training they should swap a variety of players into their lines position, so they understand what is being done in the lines, and gives flexibility and possibly creates greater connection and cohesion. The Forwards need to be constantly moving, opening, closing, creating space, separation, and mismatches. Not necessarily, up and down the field. Creating space to lead into is an aspect we should develop ground wide. Too often, we get closed down, and it limits our ability to play with freedom, and we tend to panic under pressure. Still need greater trust and connection between players. A couple of times in the semi, we went fast, but had no-one to deliver too. Perhaps the players lose focus on the match as they attempt to get on with their roles and set structures. Where has our swarm gone? We used to run and hunt in packs. Our players rarely looked like we were desperate. Only a few of the best seemed to play with freedom. Our timing seemed off, we lose rhythm and don't seem to hold the ball till the right moment, or shimmy/baulk to delay the disposal. We became easy to read, have to have the oppo guessing. Our smalls attempt too many hangers and get in the way of our talls instead of crumbing and holding the ball in as they lose positional advantages. We require more drive of halfback. We need to be able to perform under pressure. Have to, punish teams with scores when we force turnovers and mistakes.

POSTGAME: SF vs Brisbane
Can't believe the crowd boo'd Petty and a Brissy player ridiculed a male crying.

POSTGAME: SF vs Brisbane
I agree with many posters about MFC being able to dominate the first half and then get dominated in the 2nd. They new it was a pattern early in the season and still couldn't change it. Where was our leadership and guidance? Some in the crowd yesterday knew we were done, others wanted us to reset. I was amazed at how long it took to make changes and to show desperation.

POSTGAME: SF vs Brisbane
We were always fast out of the box, but we couldn't handle being front runners. From early season dominance, to so many of our games leading at half time. What happens to their heads, do they start believing they have done enough or that they are just the better team, drink the bathwater, it's all they need. Wow, the other coaches would know we drop off in the second half, and give up the momentum and belief. Petty moves forward 10 minutes into the end of our season, even though we have had trouble all year. Looks like he can play there. We lacked desperation, everyone could see the swing at the start of the third, and effectively we had or did nothing. It happened many times in the season and we developed no strategies to turn it. When the other team brings the heat we have to at least match it and then bring more. We let them out tackle us Missing goals, trying to do it by themselves, getting in each others way, and panicking with the ball. Brisbane were nervous at the start, we became nervous as the game developed. We looked like an inexperienced finals team. Too many were in and out of the game. When the opposition go fast against us we drop our bundle. Bad forward craft, the mids started to to miss their short handballs, and several brain fades. Surprised and disappointed, bad way to finish such a promising year, leading again and allowing them to overrun us.

Is that to pump up their will power. Play smarter Dees. Maybe, channelling He-Man. Play stronger and outlast them.

Helps us with our intercept game.- GAMEDAY: SF vs Brisbane
Bad timing, what a decision to make. Well done to Daniher to focus on nurturing his family. They have strong family bonds.- GAMEDAY: SF vs Brisbane
Wow, Daniher out will change our defensive plans, but maybe effect the Lions more. Their advantage was the talls. We are flexible with our ability for all the backs to play either small, medium or tall.- GAMEDAY: SF vs Brisbane
They still control the reigns on game day. Now the squad is selected the aspects of going in unchanged is irrelevant. Would prefer them to make actions then sit on their hands (which they have done in the past), if Brissy starts taking control or we need to get rolling. You want them to be non proactive or reactive? Maybe you misinterpreted my intentions, or you are holding onto something about the coaches? In style, the tempo, take it on, play percentages, In structure, extra players at the contest, or in defence, push up the field from defense, crowd the ball, play one on one. I could keep going, I hope you get my gist. The coaches have to make quick decisions during the game and not just let it roll on. That is my opinion (seriously), if joking I would have said bring Yze on as our med sub.- GAMEDAY: SF vs Brisbane
I got Melbourne on my mind. Though the story of royalty makes it hard to be 100%. Pressure, run, transition well from attack and defence, get over the nerves quickly, play in the moment and take the opportunities. It will be a tough game, fighting for everything. We are a proven big game team and must go in with plenty of confidence. I want our leaders and best, to take it up to them and have great games. They will drag the rest with them. C'mon coaches, make the decisions quickly about our style and structure during the game. Get them up and successful. Go Dees!- TRAINING: Thursday 8th September 2022
Anxiety as well. Is he cut out for performing when it is demanded of him? We will find out about his strength of mind.- TRAINING: Thursday 8th September 2022
Melksham was kicking well, saw him slot some hard snaps, on the run and from the boundary, today. It's obvious he wants to be in a grand final, he cemented a spot, now has to hold it. I imagine he will have set himself up this week at training, to get it right. I will be disappointed and surprised, if he we don't see an improvement in his game this week.- CHANGES: SF vs Brisbane
A bit of stoicism, expect the worst and hope for the best. We've got a good chance. We will be in it all night. If we lose, then it would have to be that we played badly. I believe it is in our hands. You beauty, another finals match to watch, no matter the outcome- TRAINING: Thursday 8th September 2022
Looked liked he was focused on the team to me, when out on the paddock. Encouraging and applauding, any players near him. I expect he will be focused, leading by example and ready to go. I didn't see him leave, but assume he would have signed and interacted with a few of our younger supporters, and got back in the rooms quickly. Sharing some joy, but his role is to help get the best out of the players and himself.- TRAINING: Thursday 8th September 2022
They came out looking confident and serious, head down and into the warm up. Williams gets the volume and talking going ("hit your target"), as they go into little kick modes. Then, they use 3/4 of the oval, to move 4 players off the line, pass the ball around and deliver to a player leading the 4 off the other end. Looked good with clean footy and hard running. They split into their line groups. Mids clear a stoppage and follow up with bringing the ball back. plenty of talk and support to each of them. Forwards don the bibs and put a bit of pressure on the ball carrier from the arc and then pass to a lead. Backs, move the ball between them all, within the 50 arc. Sims, like last time, squad against the coaches. On the coaches side wearing bibs were all the emergencies. I expect given that, we will go into tomorrows game unchanged. Finished with goal kicking. Plenty of inside out snaps from the boundary, with most kicking using their set shot routine, generally chaotic. Finally the signings and mingling with the crowd, behind the white rope as they walk back to AAMI. Tracc moved reasonably well. I noticed his change of direction steps were still a bit hampered. At one stage he was tackled repeatedly by Sparrow and I think, Vines. Passed through that test, easily and happily. Last thought, as the session moved on I could see a nervousness about their work. Go Dees- 2022 Finals Tickets
Yes, the site I look at, now predicting no rain. Hoping for a dry night, though the spare seats up in the Q levels are undercover.- 2022 Finals Tickets

Did you read what Dante said, he doesn't want to be around opposition supporters. The one he argues with, do you trust his opinion about him. I would have to ask a Swans supporter, so as to believe he was making it uncomfortable for everyone and not just the Dees fans. @Dante, how many Swan fans asked him to go easier with the commentary? As you said there were other Swans supporters there. Given the way Dante rebuked my opinion about the matter (WASOS; what a load of s...t) does indicate he isn't very tolerant of those whose think differently to him. My father and I used to go to West Coast and Dockers game in WA. I lived there for 4 years. We couldn't barrack for the MFC, too many want to verbally interfere. Dante sounds like one of those to me. Dad gave up going, because of the distress they caused,.one eyed, possessive, controlling and vicious. - GAMEDAY: SF vs Brisbane
