Perhaps you are right. The recovery sessions new time may gives them the morning, post match, off.
-
Looks like the recovery session will be in the afternoon, and only 30 minutes. My guess is that they will have more time reviewing the previous match. The Captain's run is for 30 minutes. Does that mean they will spend more time setting the structures and roles for the next days game? Looks like all serious sessions will be at Casey, and may include consecutive days. Interesting training changes.

Last three out on the paddock were, Viney (under the Choco spotlight) and Billings (working on guiding them through) kicking for goal, and Oliver helping the staff pick up the equipment. A giggle session, all in a great mood, plenty of noise, and creating the opportunity for a loving environment. They will want to have a serious main training, as it will get real very quickly. Time to harden them up.

Good chance they are in at the meeting, studying the GWS game in detail, getting the roles established. We will have a strategic advantage over their early physical preparation. They will hit the paddock post lunch.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Saturday 8th March 2025
Kev replied to Bleasey as that's topic in Melbourne Demons
The club hasn't posted any info about training times this week. https://www.melbournefc.com.au/teams/training-times My guess Sunday the 16th March, we play. So, a Captain's run the day before, Saturday at Gosch's, probably starting around 9.30 am. Main training at Casey on Thursday 13th, 10.00 am. Recovery run, Tuesday 11th, at Gosch's 9.30 am. -
I thought it was Taylor who intercepted early in the game, that got them going. Turner to compete against that. As for their speed, they broke out the front, with frantic handball, even under pressure they found themselves free. Our tackling, and defensive ability to keep the player under pressure, has to be good. Collingwood kept on getting tackled, or corralled. We need to find that outside runner. Plenty of set shots, close to goal will help. Go Dees!

You're brave if you are picking GWS against us, if I read correctly between the lines. No depths in some areas, backline and forwards. We are loaded with mids. It's a mids game, get ball, move it quickly, kick a goal, defend the spaces, and get back to help the backline. We match up well, and our system is getting tweeked. My worry is, can we adjust the system within the quarters so as to deal with the opposition when they get a run on. I have faith in the players, the coaches instructions and implementation during the game, is my big question mark. First up GWS, plenty of possibilities, and so interesting.
-
Lessons to be learnt by our coaches. GWS ball movement, they swarm with handball and run, our runners better be ready. GWS play with endeavour, they want to win. We are a more sophisticated (system and technique) and disciplined team than the Woods, hoping we go with GWS, can't let them get their noses infront. We will need to take our opportunities. There is a 50% chance of rain next Sunday, they will need to adjust to Melbourne conditions. A game to see how we match up early this season against a strong club. Go Dees, points to prove.

Second game for the year is about to go. Goodluck to the game day posters, enjoy.
-
Seems like we are heading back to that.

The AFL members area of the "G", is regularly underutilised at MFC games. That's a good quarter of the seating numbers.

When I am a neutral observer, I don't get the one eyed supporters. I end up holding my tongue and I find that uncomfortable. My views aren't widely appreciated, by those drunks and over the top gamblers, looking for a fix. The group thinkers overwhelm me. They probably haven't heard of the existential angst of the "X" generation. Dadaism (nonconformity and absurdism), or nihilism (pointless). The millennials kids know what I am talking about. The addicted, drgs and gambling, not sure they have time for a "life that is examined". I am sure many posters here don't want me to comment, they have told me many times before. Happy with what I have, not what is given. My comments began with me replying to, a "fizzer" of a season. I reckon it is a fizzer of a season without Saturday night's.
-
Wow, didn't know that. Perhaps it is the closed circles you live in. So much for the cost of living crisis they talk about. All want the life of luxury and won't sacrifice to get stability. Good luck with the kids millennials.

The masses have the power though. If we didn't want to feel privileged, and have a door that keeps the "others", (human nature), out. We could all refuse to buy subscriptions and be treated as equals. It's like asking MCC members to join us in GA (general admission), or have your designated area GA. You just don't want an equal society. The ivory tower is for your kids and a few who get there via merit.

This was the narrative most of last season. Why do the Woods hold this "special" place, in the eyes of the deluded or brainwashed. They also have the most talented players, and one in particular who never misses the mark. It's a oke on all of us.
-
Of course that is only for Victorian watchers. I think (though could be wrong), NSW, SA, Queensland and WA, will get to watch their teams all season long on FTA, including Saturdays.
-
Show a replay of a Saturday, day game, on the Saturday evening FTA.
-
Still leaves it like now, having to wait from Friday for AFL. Barren for home stayers with no FTA on the Saturday. So three games a week, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, or are we getting two Sunday matches FTA?
-
I don't really get it. Perhaps, it is about getting us out on Saturday night to drink and gamble, together. At the moment those pursuits bring in the dollars from the advertisers, and in turn the AFL.
-
That is how it will feel for all free to air spectators. No Saturday night AFL for us, a fizzer of a season.
-
I would rather my way of being free, play, laughter, and curiosity. Drugs (alcohol) can become a crutch that may impose on your happiness, and on others.
-
All about bonding. Most of the drills had a competive edge to it. Golf with a footy, closest to the pin. Group handballing, with one more ball than the number of contestants. The one handling two balls was out, last man standing gets the chocolates. Snaps for goal off passes, two teams, first one to countdown to zero wins. Two groups, handles ball then passes to end the set. First to finish wins. Kind of juvenile, they were all regressed back to teenagers. Plenty of noise and excitement filled the paddock.

It is a guess from me. Sunday the 16th March, we play. So, a Captain's run the day before, Saturday at Gosch's, probably starting around 9.30 am. Main training at Casey on Thursday 13th, 10.00 am. Recovery run, either Monday 10th or Tuesday 11th, at Gosch's 9.30 am. I think there is a chance of an intra-club sim either this Saturday or Sunday, out at Casey. They could post later. https://www.melbournefc.com.au/teams/training-times
