The healthy mental health thread
From my impressions in this world on group dynamics, it seems generally speaking that each individual will be liked by a 1/3rd, disliked by a 1/3rd and found indifferent by a 1/3rd. The numbers don't change by much, except for the very popular or the difficult. Plus or minus 20%. In life we must be grateful to those who are positive towards us, as just as many are against us. Those who dislike us will always be here, best to figure out how to deal with that fact. What they say can be useful, irrelevant or about themselves. Up to each of us to figure that feedback out. It is just the way it is. So digital communications merely highlights this. Anonymity offers those who live on a more negative plane of being a less consequential effect when expressing their truth. Face to face they are more likely to be quiet. The old, "if you don't have something positive to say", is not socially supported in the digital world, as there are less consequences. In a way, digital is bringing out our true social nature and the interactions. We do take rejection and ostracisation serious. It is an impossibility to be loved by all. If we have a few true ones around, then we are blessed. For those without, don't be too hard on yourself, relationships are the most difficult aspect of our modern life. Again, a 1/3rd and a 1/3rd and a 1/3rd. All is a mirror and a master.

TEAMS: Rd 23 vs Brisbane
I see Sparrow as a protector and safety, tough to tackle, can receive a hot handball and gets out of jail. Shepards our main ball movers and getters, when in close. Good sized mid. Can run all day and still perform when exhausted. Usually a good kick, has the capacity to pop up when is needed and will take it on when it is his time. Loads of potential as he learns to position himself well and deliver the ball to advantage. He is learning from Oliver, Trac, Brayshaw and Viney.

I can see him training with them and offering leadership. Making the team with no game fitness would be a big leap of faith.

TEAMS: Rd 23 vs Brisbane
Great continuity, minimal changes again, wow, what pressure for spots. No-one can really under perform the roles at this stage, so expecting a very hardened, and pressured approach to our game. I thought Harmes played with desperation at VFL level last week. He worked hard, to get the call up With the dry days up there, I'd expect a little less dew on the ground. Marking and clean ball use will be needed, get it done BBB and Dogga. Brissy will be ready for us, but I think we are playing on the front foot this season. We really ask the opposition to stick to us, as we don't give much in the first half and quite often they fold. It still remains a problem for us in the third, but with so much on the line I expect we will roll on till the end. [Good to see Kenty as a possible in, (kick a few for us) St.kilda has a few out this week, including M.Wood who looked strong in their last one. Hoping they can do Sydney and give us a MCG game (so long as we win).] I can see the players enjoying the VFL game in Moreton oval if we do Brissy. Plenty of sunshine, then off to watch the Sydney game on Sunday. Good preparation but probably not. Maybe only Goody and few select leaders to the Sydney game.

We’re finishing INSIDE of the Top Four
About time for a bit of balance. Gee, we would want to click. Brissy at their home. We are similar, in that, the style of momentum shifts in the game. Fight for 4 quarters, a little like how we did against Blue, but from the front and we win. Go Dees.

We're Finishing OUT of the Top Four
We will find out in a few days. I expect us to fight hard, the same with Brissy. Hoping we click and the close one last week, bodes well for us to smash them. I am with the sentiment that you don't have to believe in the MFC to be a true supporter. Each to their own, even those wearing the lucky undies from "64, and now 2021. Opinions, (unless in the mass media, and noticed by players and/or officials) or magic thinking is irrelevant to how we go.

TRAINING: Monday 15th August 2022
"Can't get no satisfaction", but don't "sell your body to the night", wait until, "touced her perfect body with your mind", and then "one more cup of coffee for the road"

Is that what the masters and mistresses of the universe (executives) get up to?

TRAINING: Monday 15th August 2022
You know what I mean. Free kicks are good if they are deserved, frustrating if inconsistent. Worst are the soft ones when given near goal, for both teams. They can ruin the game.

TRAINING: Monday 15th August 2022
Looked like it did, but not for me (I don't like something for nothing), nor did I get an invite. Fridays was for supporters who sponsor the players. They also had a food truck and were served bagels/rolls with filling. Mondays was for the executives, possibly from the New Balance company, the players and staff.

TRAINING: Monday 15th August 2022
That would be my guess as well. If it was today then those from the VFL side couldn't go hard. Next week, it could be anyone's guess given the bye, as to which days. Though assume the Monday run will be on. Could also be a practice game on the following weekend. Hoping the club keeps us informed.

POSTMATCH: Rd 22 vs Carlton
I was in the Ponsford, below the big screen. As soon as Kossie kicked it it looked like a floater, even thought it wouldn't make the distance, then was hoping for the point. All was in slow-mo, it just kept going and it was straight, a thing of beauty. Kossie new exactly what he was doing. A big game player, all the intention in the world when I saw the replay. We were in raptures, the kids around me will be demons for life. The Carlton cheer squad after the initial shock were silenced, and then hoping for their miracle from the bounce. They remained silent, and we take the emotional lollies well into the week and our team set up to do Brissy. Go Dees.

TRAINING: Monday 15th August 2022
Short and sweet again. Plenty of banter and fun. There were some executive types who had an introduction to the group before they begun. The group appeared relaxed and happy.

Bowey is not on the track.

TRAINING: Monday 15th August 2022
Coffee truck is down here again. Just waiting for the players. Watching the storm go through their paces, they're switched on! Light duties include: Lever, Spargo, Viney and BBB. Yesterday's players aren't on the track, Bedford is training as is Rosman, but not Chandler. They are mainly in runners, and after some jogging around the hats they played a soccer game. Moniz-wakefield and Tmac in rehab doing plenty of kicking. There is no strapping on Kossie knee.

NON-MFC: Round 22, 2022
I still see it as hate. You can dress it up as you like. You group think, separatist who believe the other should be like you or they are what, "d..k h..ds". Why if peoples attitude are not ones you agree with should they be singled out as unacceptable and ridiculed, possibly even ostracised by the "true thinkers".

NON-MFC: Round 22, 2022
Hate to be that person, but cannot help myself. Why would you want to punch anyone! So what, you don’t like their personality or something. Why violence or the threat of it? We have a world struggling with accepting diversity. I am just amazed that there are still those who hate others. You don't even know them on a personal basis. I don't see the joke! Oh, I see it but it is so tasteless and harmful. They're just people.

POSTMATCH: Rd 22 vs Carlton
Unsure about the strategy Carlton's number 43 used against Oliver, at the centre bounces. Oliver had to spend his time retaliating to the hits to his torso. He appeared to not be focused on the ball and distracted from the game. If he turned his back to him the oppo would hit his back. Oliver used a good strategy to get his opponent away from the contest, so he could run towards the ruck, under less pressure. Just don't get how that 43 got away with it, I think it was within the rules but should it be? The taggers cannot just play the man and cause one of the best in the game have to wear themselves out fighting and not playing.

POSTMATCH: Rd 22 vs Carlton
We robbed them. Great time to win a close one. The Melbourne players never gave in, well done. I keep expecting to hear that their Queen Councils are going to the appeal tribunal to claim the timers got it wrong! 36 minutes, is that normal? Those kicks down the line to a contest! We need more dynamics in our forward craft. Hard footy, well done Dees.

GAMEDAY: Rd 22 vs Carlton
Beautiful footy weather, no wind or rain, and reasonably mild temperature.

GAMEDAY: Rd 22 vs Carlton
Hoping our ball getters have more of an impact. I want lots of goal assist and smart plays. Our handballs have to be to players with more freedom. Score well, when if we are dominating, otherwise we give them a sniff. I want us to hit the scoreboard hard in the third and to keep the momentum going into the last quarter. Would love to see some stab passes into the forward 50. Can't let Carlton out mark us, the talls need to be there at each aerial contest. Pressure, pressure and take it on when it is our time. Need us to play as a team, do the roles, the one percenters and some magic. Time for our best. Go Dees.
