AFL in statement "urgently wanting an explanation from Melbourne, to explain the discrepancy between previous statements to the afl and the report on 7.30.Report tonight" Excellent!
-
Yes, this is the point. The management of the debacle, not the actual debacle itself.

This at least explains why our players have been so completely unmotivated in their performance, in our first 3 games. I think we have all been frustrated by the inability to understand WHY, at the beginning of a new season, after such a good pre season, the players clearly arent trying. Not chasing, no second attempts, no tackling, slow, appearing unfit. It hasn't made sense. But now it does. The text messages abruptly stop at the time of essendon's press conference. Can you imagine the sh@t that would have hit the fan, at that point, in our footy department. As yet, unidentified decision makers, (Schwab?), decided rather than go to the afl as essdon did, we would keep it in house, and hope it doesn't get out. Players are panicking, reassured by neeld, mission, Craig et al, but as the full catastrophe of essendon, is revealed, players aren't buying it. They, mistrust their coaching/ fitness team, they put in performances, that we have all witnessed. I feel so sorry for them. I am furious at the incapable management of the football department and of the club itself, who are responsible for the complete embarrassment our club is becoming. Get rid of them all. Peter Jackson is coming in. Good. replace the entire coaching team, the players will never play for them. They mistrust them. Bring in intim team of coaches for rest of the year, with the aim of getting EXPEPERIENCED coach with proven ability. Headhunt, be proactive, think outside the square! Be brave. Our family will still go to the game on Sunday, even though hopes for a win have gone. We are not at the bottom yet, the players will be more shattered than before, if possible. But we must support them. This is our club! And we need to stay strong. Don't let the supporters add to the problems of our club, by giving up! Lets continue the fantastic enthusiasm of last weeks training turn out. Go Dees!

Just heard on SEN, that ex Essendon CEO Peter Jackson, has been appointed to the interim position of Melbourne's CEO This has to be good news

It's time for Watts to leave - according to Barrett

Keep him! Ignore media hypotheses, they are underemployed, got to find something to carry on about it. It's only 3 rounds in, but I'm sick of it all already. How much time do these endless tv / radio shows actually spend talking about the GAME? They are all wannabe Caroline Wilsons, God forbid! -
Mike Sheehan is saying Peter Jackson previously CEO with essbend
-
Love the enthusiasm, but I don't think that women, would join a club, therefore barrack for a team, just because the CEO is a woman
-
I'm impressed, well done for you and the other volunteer, for doing something positive for our club.

What really stands out, (without making excuses, I'm as mad as everyone else), is this comment by Neeld: "A lot of the people who make the criticisms don't have all the information."

http://video.news.com.au/2369589330/King-Maclure-say-pain-just-beginning-for-Demons Last night's 360 on Fox. It all just gets more depressing.

Former Melbourne star David Schwarz yesterday told the Herald Sun a negotiated settlement would save the league from significant fallout. "This is such a hard decision for the AFL. This would have gone to court. Melbourne doesn't have to pay for legal representatives, because it has more lawyers than supporters. "This looks like the sensible thing. They are acknowledging there is probably smoke, but not enough proof there was fire. Let it be a lesson to all of us that the rules put in place weren't conducive to sides finishing as high as high as they could. The AFL incentivised mediocrity, and history says we can't go back there. "Deep down we all felt there were several clubs over eight years that didn't try 100 per cent 100 per cent of the time. The players tried, but I am glad this has come out, so it's not just an untold story hidden under the carpet. "The AFL would realise if they penalised Melbourne hard they would have to go after other sides, and they don't have the resources or energy to do that." My sentiments exactly.

It was nothing new, and caro said same regarding our charges on aw tues night. Authoritative and arrogant. If she's right there must have been leaks from afl, not happy...
-
She said: "Dean Bailey WILL be charged. CC WILL be charged, CS will probably be charged, The club WILL be charged..." Hopefully this is just her arrogant manner, and not a leak from HQ ( absolute disgrace if this is the case)
-
True, but over those years when other teams were tanking, Andrew continually stated that "tanking does not exist". It can be only concluded that the list manipulation and questionable tactics during those games were acceptable...
-
No, I didn't want to hear this, but am concerned that, that was the message. I hope YOU are right!

Everything I heard Angry say, in some of his interviews today, referred to the importance of "maintaining the integrity" of the game, and how the Melbourne tanking investigation was incomplete and needed time to reach its conclusion unimpeded. It sounds highly unlikely we will get off with "no charges to answer". (afl know they need to act in response to the huge attention on this issue, and there will be destructive attacks on the AFL and their governance primarily by media and therefore the afl followers, if there is not what is deemed adequate penalties.
