  1. BDA, if the standard of the 2 games Kossie has played are a result of him being “distracted”, then I hope he doesn’t make a decision till after our grand final!
  2. Thanks for your work DD - one question though. A number of posters on here have been bemoaning Gus’s performances this year - particularly the last 2 games. Your rankings tell a very different tale. Under your system, what performance indicators rank him a lot higher than people give him credit for?
  3. TMac would have known what to do.
  4. I hate the idea, but seems as though Goody wants it, which surprises me.

you were just spoiled at Springvale Damo.
  6. Loved his comment about Gus.
  7. I much prefer to vent at the tv than put it in the game day thread. I don’t want you guys knowing what a foul mouth I really have.
  8. DJ, the article you quoted said the following about Howe: “Howe’s return has been delayed by an infection in his arm that hospitalised the veteran defender last week." (but really wgaf).
  9. Binny, you have to re-read your posts before pressing submit. Please.
  10. I originally thought the talk of playing Petty forward was not smart - I mean, why weaken our backline to plug a gap up forward? But I’ve got to admit the move forward Sunday turned out to be a very good move, and I hope, now, that we persist with it for a few games at least, if not the rest of the year if it works out. And by working out I mean that Tomo or Disco can slot in seamlessly into our backline, if they are needed. Up forward, Petty, by taking one of the best defenders, will take some of the pressure off JVR till he really finds his feet in AFL football. I’m not hopeful that TMac has a lot more to give - I think time and injury are huge hurdles for him. I also believe the fast game we are trying to play does not help BBB, given his leg issues, and this showed on Sunday. It must frustrate him no end that his body can’t do what he knows he used to. Petty forward may well be a great move by Goody (or a desperation move given the above), but a move welcomed by many on here, and now I’ve jumped on board - late as usual.
  11. Piece of cake. Who needs Gawny and Kossie.? They’d make great trades at the end of the year.
  12. That heading would of had far more impact a few years ago - when he was still good!
  13. That banner is really impressive. I mean really, really good. I’m sure Oli will feel very proud, and, as such, the DA should also feel proud of what they’ve done and continue to do. We are very fortunate to have such a dedicated, and talented group, representing the supporter in all of us.
  14. I would prefer a fit, in-form player as my sub. This would then count out both Tmac and Melky. By all logic, I cannot see why Tomlinson isn’t the sub for this game.
  15. Agree but who says we are? I think they’ll share.
  16. Joel Smith injured again Werridee?
  17. I’d be very shocked if any club would be stupid enough to tank their season.
  18. Come on PF, TMac is definitely needed next week at CHF - (at Casey to replace Van Rooyen).

I think it is time our mids learnt to earn their own living instead of being spoon fed by Max all of the time. Might do them the world of good to have him missing for a few weeks.

Well said Jaded. Now we can all get on with “caring about last nights putrid showing”.
  21. I have a problem comprehending why, when we have so many AA mids, that we struggle with clearances, and not just centre clearances. Because of our personnel, this is the one area of the game that we should, without fail, dominate. So what is the issue? Is it - that our mids, unless our rucks put it down their throats, are incapable of winning the ball? - that are mids are lazy? - that opposition mids are better coached to nullify our personnel advantage? - that our midfield coach needs to lift his game plan? - or is it a combination of all these items? And possibly more? Could someone please explain this to me as I’m dumbfounded by our relative failure in this area, particularly after last night’s performance which was abysmal.
  22. Josh, I’d watch those kids with her if I was you.
  23. I don’t think anyone playing in the afl today could replace Kozzie. I also hope the players are not as overconfident as a lot on here are. While I hope you are correct, I think it will be a mighty challenge for us.
  24. FFS Daz, leave the kid alone. I’m sick of hearing this same comment from you. Once is understandable, but it must be half a dozen times now. The football department obviously see more in him than you do. And with no disrespect, I am placing my faith in them. I just hope Joel gets a good run at it this year and is able to prove himself. He won’t be lining up tomorrow night, but best wishes for the season Joel. Hope it’s your year to shine.
