PREGAME: Rd 08 vs West Coast
I’d like to use the WC game to try a couple of things: I’d give Campbell a game to assist Max - and make the mix work. I think Sparrow and Chandler are showing what our forward pressure should be like, and I’m afraid Fritta hasn’t added this to his game yet so I’d let him learn this back at Casey for a couple of weeks. The obvious replacement would be Melksham, but I’d rather go a different route and try a younger player in Sestan. I know he has been playing very well in the backline, but his DNA is as a forward. His backline “learnings” will have him bring the defensive pressure we need up forward from all players, and he certainly knows how to kick a goal. So I’d play him in Fritta’s spot in the pocket. Turner to return to the backline, JVR to get another go, Rivers moved to the mids, and Windsor to the wing where he belongs. Spargo and Tholstrup to lose their places not because they were poor, but because they didn’t do enough. McVee, May, Turner Bowie, TMac, Lindsay Langdon, Viney, Windsor Sparrow, Petty, Chandler Kossie, JVR, Sestan Gawn, Tracc, Langford Bench: Campbell, Rivers, Salem, Oliver 23rd: Melksham Out:: Spargo, Fullarton, Sharp, Tholstrup and Fritta out. In: Turner, Sestan, JVR, Campbell, and Melksham sub. Five changes is probably too much, but it’s what I’d like to see happen.

was the palm of his hand facing the Freo player, or towards himself?

NON-MFC: Round 06
the betting odds for a Tigers win against GC were too good to be true. Don't normally bet, but something told me Yze would get them up for this, so had a dip. Happy man this morning.

Time to go Goody?
i think a big part of the reason why Jordon is flourishing is that his current coach believes in him - and he is responding and growing in confidence.

GAMEDAY: Rd 06 vs Fremantle
I’m fully aware of what could happen today, but I refuse to get smothered by all this negativity around the team and the coaches. I know, more fool me, but again I think we will storm home to get close, and maybe, just maybe, a small win.

Time to go Goody?
Hey @Macca ,I think that after 12 posts on the same topic in the last 40 min, you have clearly stated your position and made your point . We know you are a passionate supporter, but even I find it hard to be this passionate at 7.30 in the morning. Please tell what you add to your coffee.

PREGAME: Rd 06 vs Fremantle
Don't we have to replace May from the emergency list - hence Howes and not Adams?

What gets you excited about the club?
Goody appears to be making some very strange calls this year, but, going forward, if he does somehow manage to turn our fortunes around, then I’m certainly excited at the prospect of seeing that happen. Who wouldn’t be?

Time to go Goody?
I agree with what you are saying @Lucifers Hero , but I don’t know why the revolving door. Maybe Goody is looking for combinations of forwards that will follow his game plan. Or maybe he is “punishing” our 2 best forwards for not following his plan. Both may be back next week or the week after - and there is Jeffo to also get a look in. Which makes your point even more valid. I have NFI.

Time to go Goody?
None of us know the ins and outs of what is being taught behind the scenes at the club. Changing an ingrained way of doing things does take a long time. We all hoped it would be ready for seasons start but obviously more time is needed. Goody gave up on changing his “new” game plan halfway through last season and our season collapsed. Goody seems far more committed this year to this current plan, and I doubt he will cave in and revert to the old style this year. He obviously knows that if he fails he’s out - but at least the Club appears to be backing him till years end. If the belief within the Club is still there - and we are told it is - then I can see our game plan finally coming together after the bye, and us starting to fly. Hopefully we see some promising signs tomorrow.

PREGAME: Rd 06 vs Fremantle
They are a tall side - 10 players 190cm and above. Long bombing ain’t gonna work this week ( not that it’s worked any other week either).

PREGAME: Rd 06 vs Fremantle
Well in terms of preferences, I want our t-bone medium rare and their porterhouse on the burnt side.

PREGAME: Rd 06 vs Fremantle
If Fritta has been dropped to find form, how does he do that by only playing a half of football at Casey? Doesn’t make sense to me. It’s like dropping Turner for one game when there was no VFL match for his form to improve. So it cannot be that they are trying to get them to recapture form at Casey, it’s more like “you’ve been naughty, now sit in the naughty corner till you are sorry for the mistakes you have made”.

PREGAME: Rd 06 vs Fremantle
That kinda says that our problems are all in the forward line, so let's blame them. No blame for the midfield for how they deliver into the forward 50.

Tom Fullarton
Good luck to him. Hope he goes well.

Which quarter/s IS it?
Stop belittling our boys Beelz - its 6 goals in 5 games, not 5!

What gets you excited about the club?
Haha but I think you get the bends rising, not going down. Luv the message though.

What gets you excited about the club?
Foolishly I get excited before the start of every game.

By "all the other stuff", you mean simply being professional. Which he obviously hasn't been. He was professional once, he knows what's needed and expected - he obviously hasn't yet got that drive to make himself professional again.

If that's the case Binny, how is it that players who have much longer periods off the field through injury,ie Melksham, are able to come back to full fitness as a condition of being able to be selected - yet Clarry cannot?

I think Tracc has a long way to go before he is worthy of being captain: - he needs to gain some humility he needs to show that he cares for his teammates both on and off the field he needs to lead by example both on and off the field he needs to be far more selfless in his on-field play he needs to improve his basic football skills - kicking and handballing he has to make it abundantly clear that he is fully committed to the MFC for the length of his contract. he has to have regained the respect of everyone at the Club Only once he has done all that, he will be ready to lead our great Club, not before
