  1. Been away on vacation, so missed the last two games. Couldn’t believe we lost against GWS. Glad we came back against Port. I hope we win again. I’m getting used to being on top of the ladder
  2. Did see the 88 one once. Can’t find it again. Was at Weg’s world a few years ago. His son-in-law told us if we won one ours will be the one we would have won if we’d won 4 in a row in 1958. Personally I thought the 88 one was the best I’ve ever seen. I must have been like Weg in 1998. I thought that was the year we were going to win it. Even more than 2000.
  3. Sounds like a great read. I have to admit I still have my fingers crossed the title become redundant this year

I have not seen one shred of Evidence that Nicky Buckley supports us. Where did you get this from?
  5. Did anybody read the match review from AFL.com? Who writes this rubbish? You wouldn’t even know there were two teams playing, it’s just Essendon, Essendon, Essendon.
  6. Essendon were fantastic tonight. So tough to penetrate their forward line, but we got it done. Tough win. I hope this makes the club realise that wins aren’t going to just come. We have to work hard for them and we did. If we make the grand final, I hope the game is not like this. My dad’s heart can’t take it
  7. Horrible. Outmarked, outkicked, outmatched. They went through us like we weren’t even there. Too many players holding the ball too long, weren’t doing our handballing game. And to lose to the filth. Just gutted. One thing we can take from this is at least we won’t play Collingwood in the finals. I just hope each loss bring us closer to a win
  8. I’m hoping that win took a lot out of Collingwood and they’ll be unprepared for another tough slog
  9. I think the last one produced was from 2000. We had Demon Attack (1994) and Hotter than hell (1998). It seems the only way they will produce them is if you win the premiership. Luckily there’s a few that have been uploaded on YouTube.
  10. I don’t believe in ā€œcursesā€, like like I don’t believe in leprechauns.

With the theme of #allfiredup I’m surprised no one has done a video of us to the Pat Benatar song. Anyone one old enough to remember it was used for the 1988 VFL season
  12. Can you block someone here? I have a particular pest who has an issue with me (won’t name names) who I’d love to block
  13. This year no, but look at as. I was even criticised for calling people out on those statements when I joined. Saying you’re Leaving the club because of a loss is emotions? Come on
  14. Yeah but he’s basically giving opposition fans fuel to fire at us. I’ve had fans of opposition sides post this [censored] each time we lose on Facebook. If he wants to be a fool do it on his own time. He’s an embarrassment
  15. So 1959 was our last non-Olympic grand final. The year we won the first premiership cup. That suits me just fine ?

Would be great for the finals
  17. Self deprecation is ever here and so common with demons supporters frankly I’m sick of it. The acceptance of failure and embracing other tema ridiculing is has gone one too long. Now we are the best it’s time to change our attitude. I mean if you want to give up on the club for not winning, fine, do it. Don’t post it do it. If you’re just angry then say it, don’t share your anger issues with everyone if you’re not going to follow through with your words
  18. Along with the ā€œhaha we suck. Everyone laugh at us, we’re your punching bagā€ attitude
  19. It’s the attitude we need to drop. Why would you post that, making yourself look like a fool and basically giving all the opposition clubs the fire they need against us? How many times that fool has been used against me when debating. He’s a disgrace
  20. It’s probably best not to get beat by under a goal. I doubt my dad’s heart could take it. 1988 dad had the TV set up in the garage with his mates coming over. I previously explained how he had no real expectations but went ballistic for that brief moment we led. The rest was awful. I remember the pain was too much for me. Ended up watching the Olympics. 2000 I was an adult. I definitely appreciated it more. I got out all my old supporter gear and decorated my living room. My younger brother came around and we watched it together. I knew we were never going to win, but seeing how we played against them earlier in the season, we could have done a lot better than that. Sad but I promised not to be angry at them and I wasn’t. Unfortunately had to work that night. Came back late and brother was already asleep. Put on the old grand final of the 60’s vhs and watched the brief footage from our 1960 and 1964 triumphs. I though to myself ā€œthis is all we have of a demons premiership.ā€ Went to bed really low and upset. Had a date the next afternoon and canceled it. Didn’t feel up to anything. I can only Imagine the other scenario if we’d win. Would probably have ended up with the guy, married with kids instead of being a spinster who lives on their own ?

Don’t they officially publish numbers once it’s closed? Doesn’t it happen in July?
  22. Feel for you. I buy some for my nieces/nephews but they’re grown out of them in a few years ? The younger ones are all hand me downs. One even has the woollen one we got handed down my my older brother. Would give you ours if it wasn’t about to be given to my niece. Maybe try eBay?
  23. Is 6 the top? If not why are people rating Tracc to low?
  24. I can’t even post in game day anymore because I’m tired of every time the opposition scores they rant about how crap our team is. They won’t be happy unless we keep the opponent scoreless (which has never happened.) And if we lose (the perfect season, including finals, has never happened) I’m so tired of the ā€œI’m over this clubā€ and ā€œthat’s it for me. Sick of demonsā€ and ā€œI’m returning my membership.ā€ FSS if that’s true, do it. Go be a fair weather supporter. Change your team each year depending on which team you follow. I think the culture of failure is so entrenched with some they accept it as inevitable and embrace the ridicule, like this Clown here.
  25. Having no interest/knowledge about soccer I’ll have to take your word over it. All I’m saying here really is this has never happened ever. Never have I seen a season where pundits are saying WE are the cup favourites. Never have I had an answer to the debate such as ā€œwell our teams the best at the moment. Never have I seen them at the top this time in the season. Never have my team been the admiration of all the other teams on the league. Never have I see us sit on top of the perch and look down on everyone else. I’ve seen seasons were we were celebrating when we won less games than this. I’ve seen many where we were the joke of the league, the recipient of puns and jokes. Even in my office environment at work I was ridiculed. For years we were the example of what a team shouldn’t be. The sight of Melbourne failing was so common it was seen as expected and the norm. Now the opposite is happening. We are feared and seen as the team to beat. I have never experienced this. Even as well as we played in 2000, deep down I knew every team was playing for second place that year. Yes I know it’s a long time to go. Yes we can still falter. But even if it’s for this brief moment we are the pride of the league. It’s something I’ve never experienced before and may never experience again. I just love going into work after the weekend, smiling, not facing embarrassing jeers about how ā€œs**tā€ my team did on the weekend. It’s nice being looked up to not down on. I can only imagine how my nieces/nephews (the closest I’ll ever have to having children) feel. I imagine all the ridicule and teasing they must have got through the years and the pressure to change to a ā€œpopularā€ winning team. Now they must be smiling and the admiration of all their classmates. Anyone who has children must have felt guilty about all they put their kids through. Now they can see them as sitting on the top of the winners pile.
