  1. Being a GA member, I’m not guaranteed a ticket even if we make it. It doesn’t feel right not being at the MCG, but I’d take a premiership anyway I can
  2. There is way too much at stake for a close game. I’m looking forward to being so far in front my dad, uncle and me can open the whiskey at the third quarter, lay back and throughly enjoy what is a certain premiership Next year can be the close one. There’s too much pressure on needing to win this one. The one thing I am SO tired of hearing is “when have Melbourne last won a premiership?” We win and that’s the last time we hear that
  3. Here’s footage of the game that saved us Hawthorn vs Melbourne. I find it sad that this footage is in better condition that the grand final one
  4. I’d settle for black and white on its entirety. At least St Kilda have that (even though all their celebrations footage have them wearing Collingwood jumpers.) Just curious is there ANYONE who attended 1964 that’s going Saturday?
  5. I’m similar. I’ve seen a few comments saying they hope it’s a close game. Nothing could be further for me. I want to knock them out of the park. I hope it’s done and dusted in the second quarter. I don’t want it even remotely close. I hope we lead all day. With 57 years and knowing what it will mean to us I don’t think I’d cope with a close game. I think if they’re in front of us in any stage I’ll panic
  6. After seeing basically all the other teams winning the premiership, watching them hoist the cup while we’re sitting here mocked for having the longest-continuously-running premiership drought, seeing teams that had no droughts winning yet again. It’s been too long. I’m sick of it. We’ve been scrutinised unfairly because Geelong and Bulldogs had a longer drought but we were seen as the “worst” team with this non-existent “curse” as an excuse people use to demoralise us into thinking we can’t win. It’s time another team faced that. This is our time. I’ve never married, will never have children. It’s number one on my bucket list.
  7. So glad they kept the jumper swapping to after the presentation. I wonder how that fan felt when Barassi changed sides in a few months time
  8. This should be a quote topic. ”if only…”
  9. Just buy a lot of lollipops and keep sucking. You could even just have the stick in your mouth
  10. With my father. That’s all that matters to me
  11. Why it doesn’t clash. If they’d finished on top, I wouldn’t want them to force us to change either
  12. I finally gave mine away. The guy who took it promised to pay to fly me up and pay for accommodation for our first game in WA next year. Since it’s not money, I guess it’s legal, eh?
  13. I finally re-watched the 2000 grand final. For the first time since it was on the tv originally. Just to remind myself of what we missed out and how hard it half and be to come around again. It’s likely the last time I will ever watch it. 96 points in 1988, 60 in 2000. I really hope we can at least enjoy this game past the 2nd quarter (where we lost both games.)
  14. Uh wasn’t meant to be racy. Most people do. It was more about the demons jumper and my love for it
  15. The second one looks like dickie knee
  16. I’m really holding out on buying this until after the grand final. I don’t know if I’ll be more or less enthusiastic about buying it if we lose or win
  17. Lol don’t worry, I usually sleep nude, but if we win I always wear my demons jumper
  18. Looks like someone beat you to it
  19. It would be great to finally have a player win from the team that Norm is so strongly associated with. Wish his son/grandson presented it. Norm’s widow, Marj presented the first one to Wayne Harmes (her nephew) but never did another ones (pretty sure Barassi did it in 1980, Peter Smith did it in 1981, no idea who did it after that.)
  20. Will buy one when it comes out. Another if we win
  21. Thanks for everything Jones. You were there for all the hard times and never lowered your head. You were there for both 2008-2009 wooden spoons but never abandoned us like so many (who shall remain nameless) players did. The courtesy you showed my niece/nephews when they met you was really gracious and left a lasting impact on them. You were their favourite player and they will never forget you. Thank you for everything. Nothing but love and respect for you.
  22. I think I saw that post. The guy who responded is a mate of mine. I think he handled it well
  23. We better win. We have only 9 years until Skynet takes over
  24. I’m just so glad they took all those pics before changing jumpers, unlike St Kilda. Where it looks like Collingwood won. Glad that tradition is gone. Useless soccer tradition we inherited.
