Even if Jones was a certainty to play he should go. She needs him there. It’s his wife and his children. He won’t play forever, he’ll be a father forever. It’s the most unselfish decision he’s made. Its a shame she was due at this point, but she was always going to give birth at this point. I’m actually surprised he went in the first place. I hope his wife doesn’t feel any kind of guilt, because she shouldn’t.

The very first time in my life I’d been to a game where we beat cats. Just a wonderful night seeing the MCG in a sea of red and blue. Worst? Probably our game against Essendon in 1998. We were so bad after playing so well. We were looking so forward to the game and they didn’t even try. No effort whatsoever.

I just have the feeling that this is a one in a lifetime chance. If we don’t take it, it could be another lifetime again. We may never get this chance again and we’re close. So close.
