  1. JJ would be unlucky as he played very well and it felt like he was much quicker with his ball use last week, but I also think he is a very handy sub!
  2. Which is a great position for the team, puts pressure on players 12-23 to play well or you might get dropped!
  3. I’m a dual member and do the same for my better half and 3 kids. The wisdom of George is the trump card for me, sustained success is the key, get them on board as kids have decades of success and 20 years later hopefully they can become a financial member!
  4. Sunday Bloody Sunday feels way too far away, on Easter Friday! All this reflection time! Anyway few thoughts on the new guys: - fantastic to see Chandler getting some games and playing like he belongs, tackling pressure and that fantastic mark and goal against Swans! - Hunter passer of above Chandler goal is all class and added to his wing brother in Langdon gives us the best wing combo in the league. - McVee just looks like he has that bit of time, clean skills, he is a keeper. - Grundy, so different to Maxy more a follower than a ruck, but when you add him in the middle to Clarrie, Trac & Viney he is icing on the cake! Max going down just highlights excellent list management. - JVR looks like he is going to be another excitement machine and competitive beast, look after him this year and we have our CHF for next decade! You have to hand it to the recruitment team and list management to get two best & fairest winners aged 27/28 into our team for pick 26 & 3rd rounder next year, not to mention Pies paying for the privilege, it is just an exceptional piece of recruitment and draft craft! Go you mighty Demons!!
  5. BT and ding a Ling are both definitely anti the Demons! BT is unbelievably bad for a so called professional commentator- typical BT commentary - “that’s about the first time umpires have called ball back from centre bounce today” except that two bounces before they had called the ball back and I think the bounce before. He might have been a good footballer and has a presence, but he has no idea what’s going on at the football - probably has to concentrate so hard to talk that he has no capacity to absorb what’s happening on the field!
  6. Demons have put a lot of effort into goal kicking over summer, Grundy actually commented on level of excellence Demons strive towards re goal kicking. So I don’t think scoreboard flattered us too much.
  7. Preparing for the Pies, who play pretty small in forward half!
  8. Looking forward to seeing JVR debut, if he shows all the competitiveness that he does in VFL he’ll do okay! Tough day to start against Swans, but he’ll have a crack. Looks like we’ve picked mobile team to play the Swans, so good test early on for us. Be good to have Kossie, as he brings something else re pressure and just does some exhilarating passages of play! Be great to win today! Go Demons!!
  9. Some common sense at last! For the woke amongst us look away! After looking at Demonland this morning I was ready to go get the razor blades!!
  10. One thing to learn from Mcfly & his Pies is get players to play as a team but also get players to play to their strengths. BBB is playing more like he used to pre Demons and is getting way better results, rather than as a pack breaker. The odd forward pocket ruck involvement is okay, but I would still rather see him near the goal square than any rucking. JVR has been playing back up ruck in VFL so let him do it! Great to see Hibberd back he should go straight to Papley. Demons should be going out to give a message, not at full strength obviously with Maxy, Kossie and Salem out, but Viney & Fritter both better for the run! Tackling, desperation, pressure required all day if we want to turn the tide against the Swans!! Go Demons!
  11. Just a shocker of a night with the last 12 mins helping our percentage. Hard to find good players and Harmes, Melksham and Petty very poor. Only round 2, Max back in 6-8, so try not read too much into an off night!
  12. Take May Pickett Salem Max equivalent out of Collingwood then compare!
  13. Agree too much hype - trying to follow Gridiron, when AFL footy the game stands on its own! Went to Super Bowl recently great experience but 4.5 hours duration, 60 mins game of which ball only in play for 11-12 minutes of 4.5 hours, so needs a lot of gift wrapping and BS noise, to make it an event. AFL under 3 hours, game typically 120 mins, ball in play 80 mins, we don’t need all the BS! AFL best sport to watch by a country mile!
  14. Great win by the Demons, 50 points minus May Fritsch Viney Salem is impressive! Dogs won’t try the 4 big forwards again, we just out ran them all over the park
  15. Salem is a Thyroid issue, so that leaves three. Fritsch had someone land on his foot, could happen anytime! May 30 plus a calf issue, common for older players! Slight over reaction to our injuries!
  16. It is unbelievable how few free kicks Max gets for hits in the head and chopping of the arms. Never ceases to amaze me. Many AFL non suspensions open them up to legal action.
  17. Last year struggled against fast ball use prior to getting set up in defence and small/mid sized forwards hurt us. We’re better suited defending tall forwards, so feel pretty good about Dogs with no weightman
  18. Someone called Max is not to shabby dropping back!!
  19. 7 mins of highlights Demons vs Tigers Joy to watch
