  1. For once!! Strongly agreed.
  2. Hi everyone, Just wanted to apologise for both Premiers 08 and my absence. Premiers08 sent through a message as soon as we learnt that we would not be able to attend. Sad to hear there wasn't many on the bench. We were pretty shattered, one because of the family issue that needed our attending but more importantly that we were pumped the morning of any were having a practice kick. We will 100% be there next time to help out the boys. To only loose by 4 points means that you all gave it your best. Well done and Carn the Demons!!!!!!
  3. With the top Brock is wearing. Id start him too. Seriously Brock the 18 year old house music v-neck top. Your better than that.
  4. There are a few cult heroes. Davey, Jones, Brock and maybe Rivers are new to the list. Then there are older ones such as Neitz, White and Robbo. These are people we see as Melbourne, through and through.
  5. I would like free agency. In season only, with a cut off of round 15. I prefer to have the current trading and pre-season draft system for moving players. But if there is a whole in a team mid-season it can be filled. Say for example it the week of the deadline. Your a finals contender, but 3 of your top midfielders have gone out injured. You can sign up a Shane Woewodin to play remainder of season with the option of another contract. I would only like to see players who are out of contract after all trade and draft formalities be eligible for free agency. Another example. Another finals contender loses one of their key backs, so they sign Jason Cloke. We see the talent a player like Valenti has, so we sign him up. Only uncontracted players who didn't get picked up during designated trade and draft times can be free agents.
  6. Valenti. Melbourne future star.
  7. Actually the 40 dollar membership is a great way to slowly cull out the MCC members who don't sign up. I am an MCC member and see the walls between the the footy club and the MCC everyweek. This is a fantastic way to slowly break those walls down. I can't wait to get my membership (Not MCC version) and continue to help the club. And don't you guys worry, I will continue to spend my time before games in the bars and resturants convincing the old fogies to get behind the club, and buy a membership.
  8. Good point. Thats the main thing. So what if he got in a fight with some guys in Europe (one last point I don't know how you can difuse a situation when you don't speak the same language plus they a 6 foot Aussie blokes, always a target.) The fact of the matter is his form was terrible and god knows how he finished 8th in best and fairest he got caught in the Essendon game in the goal square. Against the pies in Neita's 300th he got caught holding the ball 3 times by DALE THOMAS.
  9. Oh Rachel you crack me up.
  10. God I wish
  11. Didn't expect you to be a man.
  12. You can't really avoid when someone does cleary want to fight you. You have never been approached for a blue. If you were and you turned your back, you would be a fool. Im 19 and have been in scuffles when I was younger but two serious blues, neither I started, first one because a mate got grabbed by the throaght I pulled them apart tried to come down and got smacked across the head by some random mate. The second same sort of situation some guy kept bumping a friend of mine and when my mate finally said why do you keep bumping me the guy said have you got a problem. He grabbed me by the scruff of the neck and I belted the [censored] out of him, then there was a bit of a brawl. But key point is that this guy was fighting no matter what. Don't talk high and mighty if you haven't even been approached for a fight, while yes I have defused a few in my life, you cannot always help it. My girlfriends Dad told me a story once of this guy that wanted to fight him, he settled it down shook the blokes hand and turned his back, want to know what happened, he got bottled.
  13. You know I love Dunn, Petterd and even Newton comes into this catergory. But they are no certainty in a new coaching panels eyes to be in the starting 22 come round 1 2008. I actually think Miller has a stronger chance of lining up round 1 than the other guys do. Even though Petterd cleary deserves to play. I would also have Newton and Dunn in my best 22. Whether or not the coaching panel agree is different so it really is up for personal debate.
  14. Oh My God.
  15. Walk away......? I expect 100% aggreance with Brock. Turn your back on a mob of blokes who want to fight!!!??? Didn't your Dad teach you anything. 3 most important rules for a brewing fight. 1. Attempt to defuse with a "it's all good" 2. Never be the first guy hit. Always hit first unless you wanna be the bloke in hospital. 3. NEVER EVER EVER TURN YOUR BACK. As Brock said he would have been king hit. Anyone who has been in a fight will know that.
  16. Worried about what to say because I don't want big bad Rhino to kick me off for being insulted. But Bailey has said when he was at Port we always respected Brad Millers work ethic. Connolly also said Bailey is very keen on Miller. Thinks he brings alot of leadership and work ethic to the club. Plus as someone who knew Brad as a junior he may just have the slightest impression in his mind about how Brad used to train.
  17. Terrific
  18. Or just already know him from Mt. Gravatt. Going on first impressions. Training hasn't happened yet. I also don't recall anyone every writing or saying Miller doesn't work hard on the track. That's the praise he keeps getting from Cameron and Bailey is his leadership and how hard he works.
  19. Hi anyone who sees this. I was just told buy a guy at work that he heard Garry Lyon on the radio say Cousins just needs to leave Perth to get himself right. When someone else said why would he leave? Gary said to play football, hell id drag him here. Then the other person said the Demons? And Gary said gee I hope so. Just wondering if anyone else has heard this, the guy is a bit weird and in my opinion could have easily mis heard. One of those knows nothing about the game but acts like he does. Just seeing if anyone else heard something similar today cause he seemed fairly certain.
  20. Shh
  21. You actually think Jones is worse than Ryder right now? I reallt considered Jones 3rd but bias probably beat out Pendles. But he is definately top 3.
  22. Ive been saying it. Miller is going to be Baileys love child. He just threw him in there as a signing as big as Brocky and Robbo. I really think Bailey and other members of the club are really getting behind Brad, trying to build that confidence back where it used to be. It will take a while, but im very confident Bailey will not only get Miller running again, but will set the demons on fire.
  23. I noticed this when I went on Big Footy for the first time. In my first moments of browsing I decided it was crap and didn't join. However I liked this idea for a post. Who is the top players so far from the 2005 draft? Mine would be.... 1. Murphy 2. Jones 3. Pendlebury 4. Thomas 5. Ryder 6. Bartram 7. Hurn 8. Swallow 9. Higgins 10. Birchall If anyone is interested. Show your thoughts.
  24. Jamar, lets face it, isn't up to it. PJ obviously won't be a number 1 ruck. He Just looks like a big bodied forward. Meesen is a ruck. Thats it, game time is the number one way to improve a player. As for Newton, you would expect him in. Neitz will stay where he is, as will Robbo, everyone can get over there Miller hate and face facts he is in Baileys plans so assume he will be leading CHF like Ash Hansen. Yze im not to sure about but of course he will move on, off, free man etc. I know why we all love Bate in forward line cause of those strong hands. But if we are going on strong hands Sylvia should be Full Forward, I expect him as Sylv to be more on the ball/wing.
  25. I think we should just throw Meesen to the wolves round 1. Name White starting ruck with Meesen 2nd up. He got two games at the Crows and no doubt his confidence would be down. Throwing him in first up will give him confidence that he is good enough and may take that next step we all hope he will. I would love to see PJ play as a forward pocket as well. Much like Greg Stafford did for Richmond when Simmonds became very much like White (never comes off). I think having a big man sitting at forward pocket is fantastic, with PJ, Neitz and Miller busting open packs for players like Davey, Robbo and Yze crumbing the loose ball. Also PJ at forward pocket gives us a much stronger presence in pack marks with Neitz loosing some touch.
