  1. Whitfield is still a star. Polled most votes for GWS he'll want decent change. Preuss is either getting good change to play in the VFL or been told he's playing. We don't have the cap space for 4 starters, 3 of which are stars.
  2. So we have enough money for one big fish + the 800k or whatever a year Hogan is on available. How do we fit May, Gaff, Preuss and Whitfield into that space? Gaff will want a min of 800k himself and then May would be 600k+. Are we paying Preuss and Whitfield in high fives and IOU notes.
  3. Let's also get this out of the way. We won't be getting Brayshaw nor do i think we want Brayshaw. Brayshaw was pick 2 and he's Ross's boy. Ed Langdon now, that's something i'd like to see.
  4. Both would be overkill. I don't know how good May is but i think our defence does need some solid reinforcement. Frost and Oscar can do a job yes, but i don't think they'll ever develop to be reliable lock down defenders. So going after May makes sense. Use the other pick for an outside runner.
  5. I'm sorry but i'll lose serious faith in the club if we trade him for one [censored] first round pick. We paid two to get him and we should demand two high picks in return. I'm happy to get one pick now and one in the future to help us secure any future deals, but i'd spit chips if we gave him up for one first rounder. His stats for his age are on par with Josh Kennedy ffs. The way i see it is we are getting two first rounders and one of them will go to the suns for May. What we do with the other pick is anyone's guess. I'd like to make a play for Sam Walsh but he's like a no.1 pick. The King brothers are the high prospect talls in the draft.
  6. How good is May? like he plays for a [censored] team so you can't judge him. However he is talked of highly by media pundits. Lloyd dropped a line that if May came in (Assuming we kept Hogan) surely we'd be one of the favourites for next season. Now Lloyd is known for his outlandish statements but as i don't know much about May and his ability i can't tell if it's bat [censored] insane talk or just a super early call.
  7. two first rounds minimum or a 1rd now and future first round next season which gives us two to go after Kelly.
  8. Read the articles out there. All looking into things and taking words and spinning them. Jesse isn't leaving
  9. Even though i don't rate north players because i hate all of them your still picking out two spuds and forgetting Brown, Higgins, Ziebell etc. Richmond players are taking unders. Riewoldt, Cotchin and Rance took a pay cut to keep Dusty and make room for Lynch. Ain't nobody at North taking a pay cut to secure anyone when all the news out there is that they have room to spare.
  10. On field attitude? duh [censored]. Goal kicking accuracy? fixable and still one of the better kicks in the league performances against top teams? better teams and better defences double teaming a 23 year old forward hmmm
  11. Is this the steven may thread or the preuss thread? Just saying it was confirmed we sat down with May. It's still looking like he is our 4th or 5th target on the wishlist aka not happening.
  12. Surely he ain't coming to play VFL again so i think we are going two rucks. More time for Maxy to go forward or down back. Weid, ANB or Tyson drop out for me to make room for Preuss. Don't forget Hogan and Lever will be back in aswell.
  13. I really doubt Gaff is heading to the Dee's. I wouldn't be against bringing a good player to the club, but i don't see the logic in chasing an older mid when a younger one who is as good already will be available next season.
  14. While i think we do need an outside player, i'd still question our key defenders. Oscar is still developing and Frost has proven handy, but both got dismantled with ease the other day. While you can say our midfield got smashed a lot of one on ones weren't close.
  15. GWS ain't gonna trade Kelly this season. They're doing everything possible right now to free up cap space to try and keep him at the club. I still think we are the top of the list right now. North are paying everybody a million backs and will surely be out of space by next season. We know via PJ that we have room for a big player if he wanted to come, the problem is our position in the draft. When Kelly becomes available next season does everyone think a first rounder and future first rounder will be enough? i think the deal will be a lot more complex.
  16. If the Weid rumour is true then sorry Sam i wish you the best. How many teams have a guaranteed 45 goals in their team? I'm only trading Jesse if he wants to leave. I'd also only take 2 first round picks with a future 1st round pick. Use those picks to get Kelly and draft a key position defender. Even then we will have a huge hole up forward that we are relying on a 20 game kid to fill.
  17. Still buzzing, can't sleep so i thought i'd write down a proper review. So we'll start with a few negatives because theIr ain't many. We blazed away a lot after qtr time. It felt like out of fustration more than anything, but it was still slightly dissapointing considering how we improved this area the last two rounds. Second negative is the goal kicking, seriously we missed so many easy chances just because we had no composure. Composure is how you beat Richmond, they want you to feel every kick is under pressure when in reality you do have a second or two more than you think. We should've won 10 goals plus tonight. Finally, don't over complicate things. Sometimes we just play on or do one handball too many. Going back on the mark is sometimes a good thing. Positives, so many. I don't know if it was the atmosphere playing it's part but it felt like our pressure was the best since ANZAC day eve against the tigers. The tackling was perfect and the gut running fantastic. It felt like we were richmond today and the cats were us from back in round 5. Couldn't get out of the defensive traps and just coughing up easy balls. Weids stood tall and his second and third efforts were amazing. Something Hoges struggled with when he looked sore. Gawn wasn't even the game breaker, however his final qtr hit out dominance was noticeable. This is massive considering everyone figured he was the difference. In reality we were always the better team, but we had to learn the lessons from the experienced cats during the season. I see Trac not getting much credit and while he did fumble i felt like he was pretty good. He set up the first goal then went a bit quiet, but he can pop up at anytime with a clever handball or deep penetrating kick that can break open a game. Oliver, Brayshaw and Viney had their chance to stand up and show the rest of the comp how good they're and they did. Viney probably won over a ton of casual fans tonight with the elbow to selwood's face and then running him down when he slipped haha.
  18. You know your taking the [censored] when Tyson tunnel ball handballs around Ablett. Big Weids u sexy stick and Oliver vs Selwood what a contest Kick straight or we lose against better sides but
  19. One of my favourite players since he joined the club. It made it hard for me to be critical of him in his final year. I really hope he can play one more game, he deserves it.
  20. Really liking Weids at the moment. Something that i've noticed is all our picks in the Roo's - Goodwin era are all great characters who are willing to crack in. When we drafted Weids i was amazed watching his introduction interview in which he said he was prepared to wait for his chance. Granted when he had his chances at AFL level he wasn't a beast like Hogan was, but he has grown a lot this year and i think he will be a weapon in the final series and hopefully a more permenant starter next season.
  21. Hogan is better than Lynch. Only way Hogan leaves is if he asks to leave. I don't know why we don't sit on what we got and make a move for J.Kelly at the end of next season.
  22. A certain GWS player whose name begins with K and ends with elly is available next year.
  23. It doesn't fill me with confidence that nobody has outright said if Gaff was open to joining Melbourne Angus wouldn't have a problem with it. To be fair our interest only seems to be faint in the AFL media's view. While some people here seem to think his signature is something the club see's as a priority. Yet everytime Gus or someone else talks on Gus's behalf the feeling is he has a problem with Gaff. Now people who don't like eachother have played together before, but you would always prefer that everybody got on. If it comes down to it i'm always going to say don't go after Gaff and maybe look at other options this year or next (J.Kelly)
  24. I'm suprised a bigger deal hasn't been made out of our interest? Do the journo's not know or is our interest even genuine? I've heard it repeated that North are the front runners.
