  1. I can't confirm where i heard it but it was no mistake i heard Gus and Gaff, Gaff is currently in Melbourne so it makes sense.
  2. Angus and Gaff are meeting to clear the air. I'd think Gaff is def considering joining Melbourne otherwise i wouldn't see the point in meeting Angus. I also think it's important to consider people around the situation have said it won't be an issue (e.g. Jonesy and Mark Brayshaw saying they forgive him)
  3. This is a situation that is vastly different to any before it.
  4. Firstly should we all wait till he is 40 for him to make a decision? He is under 0 pressure to accept an apology. He has the entire football world on his side and if he said no sorry i don't accept the apology than that's fine. I also don't get where you think im judging anybody?
  5. The red card system needs to be balanced. You can't have players being red carded because they accidentally bumped someone in the head and that guy is off for the game because of concussion. It needs to be done only for purposeful or terrible acts within a game (Gaff, Hall, Cameron and Bugg) and not for incidents like let's say the tackle on J. Smith on the weekend. However, knowing the AFL it will become a big controversy within a week of it being implemented.
  6. It's a tough situation. I'd firstly be concerned about my brothers health. We also have to remember this wasn't some random bloke. It was a fellow player who has been held in high regard throughout his career as model pro and good guy. I'm sure Angus, Andrew and Hamish would all look at the situation differently to how we do because it's a unique one to them. If Andrew Brayshaw accepts Gaff's apology than it's over as far as i am concerned.
  7. 1. No one truly knows but i doubt it will. I also doubt we would be in the market for him if he wanted more than 1mil a yr 2. Probably. Lewis has a more thuggish reputation and we loved it when he signed.
  8. Doubt there will be a defence. With Gaff's record and the past incident being similar in weeks he will plead guilty and apologise and take 6-7 weeks. I agreed with Bartel and Lloyd, i don't think the AFL would want him to potentially play in a GF after this incident so 8 weeks down to 7 with a good record is my guess.
  9. That's fine, but what happens when Gaff doesn't react like he has done every other game of his career. Waste of time and energy.
  10. I don't think Brayshaw and Gaff shared the same emotions. I don't think AFL teams are going to go after Gaff who only has ever snapped once in 200 games. Nor by the time he plays again anyone will remember/care.
  11. Why would Angus be affected or do you mean Andrew? I'm not saying what Gaff did isn't serious or he should get off. I'm just not prepared to call someone who has been a nice level headed guy for his entire career a thug or question his character because of a brain snap. It's how he reacts to this and by all accounts so far you see the remorse. I also share symphathy for the Brayshaw family.
  12. Gaff was a marked man yesterday after the hit and he took it all on the chin and still walked off the ground with his head down.
  13. One mistake shouldn't throw away 200 games without incident. Would love him at the club and i'm sure he will face the consequences like a man, like Bugg did.
  14. If we could somehow get Sam Walsh then i'd say lets look at moving a Tyson/Kent on, but if not just look to finding a diamond with what we got.
  15. Thanks for the answer. Eagles will be fuming.
  16. So we don't have to offer any picks or players? Just give him money?
  17. Can anyone tell me how we would be able to bring a Gaff to the club considering we have nothing really to offer.
  18. Brayshaw may be more all rounded but i don't think he has the highs of Petracca
  19. Surely we have decent cap space? Vince is on the way out at the end of the season and even then i doubt he is on massive wages. Also Lewis is done within a year or two. Does anyone have any sources as to what our players are on? I feel like if we are close to topping out our cap space with our current squad than that's a massive error. We overpaid for Lever yes, but our only star right now is Hogan and he isn't on a million a year. We should also be saving cap space for new deals for the younger potential players. It's noticable that with the new rise to the cap that Petracca and Oliver got new deals straight away.
  20. I've made the decision to stop complaining about selection.
  21. Watts played second string to Hogan and bagged 40 goals. McDonald played as an only tall, we haven't seen if he can work off Hogan.
  22. If we had Watts no one would be worried.
  23. The sports version of "Build it and they will come" is "Win things and they will stay"
  24. We couldn't offer Port anything worth while unless we dump Hogan. I accepted a while ago that Hogan was going to head home and then he went and signed a new deal, i think we should repay that loyalty and not force him out so we can get a new shiny player. I'd also rather save cap space so we can secure the guns we got already. If Petracca and Oliver continue to develop everyone in the comp will be throwing big money at them, so we need to be prepared. Finally, Tyson isn't an A grade midfielder, but he does work and seems commited to the club. You can't have 22 great players and i am quite happy with his contribution (Maybe he could kick a bit better) and i think he is in our best 22 everyday of the week.
