Trade Targets
No way we’d get Witherden for the same pick we’d get Savage. Witherden younger and better. Of course if we had a choice it’d be Witherden every day of the week.

Trade Targets
I don’t think we have many of his type. Outside runner. I wouldn’t think he’d be asking much and I’d only do it if it was for a late pick.

Trade Targets
How about flipping a late pick for Shane Savage? Could help in a wing or half back allowing Salem or Rivers to a wing. Savage is out of contract and apparently on the move.

Viney Signs Until 2025
Great to see Viney re sign. Great to see the loyalty and that he has taken the whole losing captaincy saga and got on with it. 5 years probably means he has taken less $.

SACKED Podcast: Peter Jackson
It’s a really good listen. Would have been good if he stuck around. But could also see him stepping in to help another struggling club at some point. Well maybe he wouldn’t be keen but could certainly do it. He speaks a lot of sense and particularly around the rebuilding of our club. It was never going to be a quick fix.

Yze is a Demon Again
Pretty excited by the Yze retuning call. Leppitsch would be a great get to.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Is our game plan any good? No. Do we have a good coach? No. Things can turnaround but I don’t see Brown being a good get. We’ll have to give up a first. I think if we go for him it’ll be because Goodwin and Mahoney are desperate to make finals. Yes he has kicked a lot of goals. But personally not a fan of getting him.

Trade Targets
I would be a fan of going after Ronke. Fills a need and has played well at the level. Couldn’t crack it for a game recently but I think he has something to offer.

Farewell Braydon Preuss
Going by past history of back up ruck trades we’ll get a pick in the 40s for Preuss alone. Maybe we could get a fringe player chucked in like Zac Langdon who fits a need. Whether he gets a game is another question. FWIW I think Preuss will make a good number one ruck somewhere.

Oliver Rumours on Footy Classified
From a list management perspective Clarry and Trac are must keep at all costs. They are our match winners and game breakers. From an inside mid perspective I’d say Brayshaw Viney and Harmes (although played out of position) are tradeable. I think Gus most likely to move on. Then Harmes back in the midfield mix to run with and block etc for Clarry and Trac. Our best starting midfield is Gawn Clarry Trac and Viney.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Not a huge fan. Has kicked a lot of goals but basically a 200cm lead up forward. Needs to find a lot of space to lead into. Not sure we can change the game plan to suit.

Jared Polec
If we can turn Tmac or Preuss into Polec happy days. On the opposite wing to Langdon would make a great difference to our side.

Oliver Rumours on Footy Classified
I think some media folk made too much of Clarry’s demeanour in his speech. Admittedly I’ve heard little of it. However he is not exactly the best media performer or public speaker. Doesn’t come naturally for him. And that’s fine.

MFC Trade Talk 2020
If we are looking to move a player on I could see Gus being shopped around. With Harmes back to the midfield I can see him being pushed out. We could really use an outside runner and if we could get our hands on Saad that’d be great. Whitfield would be nice but he’d cost a fair bit more.

Cody Weightman (Drafted by Western Bulldogs)
I think I made that read Kozzy might end up like Jamie Elliott. Meant Weightman.
-
Cody Weightman (Drafted by Western Bulldogs)
Actually I meant Weightman may end up more of a Jamie Elliott. Probably came across wrong in my post.

Cody Weightman (Drafted by Western Bulldogs)
It was a very nice debut. But let’s face it. It’s far easier to kick goals in the dogs forward line. From memory reports were dogs and port would have taken Kozzy if we didn’t and had him ranked over Weightman. Personally I think Kozzy has more upside with his pace and manic pressure as well as a more physical presence. may end up more a Jamie Elliot type which will be a very good pick. Fingers cross Kozzy becomes Cyril Rioli!

TEAMS: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
Happy with the change. Thought during the week Brown may have got the call up. But let’s get games into Jackson. Will allow Gawn to push forward and drop back a bit also.

Fixture 2020 (COVID Edition)
So Melbourne and Essendon have already had a “bye”. Pretty handy for all the other clubs to get a rest mid season considering the packed schedule coming up.
-
CHANGES: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
For me no changes. If Tmac doesn’t come up we should bring in Brown. Maybe send a player to Sicily. Thinking Melksham. Not sure if he’s done shut down roles but I think someone needs to go to him. Do we have anyone that has played that role before?

The Oscar McDonald Appreciation Thread
I can’t remember him playing a game like that. He moved so much better than last year. Just seemed confident. Frees lever up to which was noticeable.

MATCH SIM: Saturday 6th June 2020
Very excited that AVB and Bennell are in full training. We play much better with AVB and no doubt a fit Bennell makes us much better. Smith intrigues me though. Has the agility and speed not many have. Thought we’d keep him forward as well. Could be a handful with Fritsch floating around as well.

MATCH SIM: Saturday 6th June 2020
I take it from the article that Lever is still being managed after being also managed during the week. Apparently back to his best running wise. Is this a worry that he’s missed last two contact sessions? Anyone know more?

CHANGES: Rd 02 vs Carlton
I think ANB probably gets a gig for his pressure. Not always tackles but the coaches love what he does. I’d pick both of Bennell and AVB ahead of him. But word is they won’t play round 2. Hannan I’m not sure if will be in the frame for selection but yeah I’d take him to.

CHANGES: Rd 02 vs Carlton
My guess is in - Jones Salem and Weideman. Out - Spargo Brown and Bedford. That’s how I think the club will go. I’d probably keep Bedford in for ANB. But he’s a favourite and the coaches rate his pressure.
