I support the Melbourne Football Club. I always have. I also support Simon Goodwin. I have supported Melbourne from before I can remember. I love the Melbourne Football Club. My favourite player is Robbie Flower R.I.P. My favourite current player is Jake Melksham. I can't wait to see him play again this Saturday. I was born in the month after Melbourne's last premiership victory in 1964. I have never seen Melbourne win an AFL/VFL day premiership. I endured ridicule from my classmates throughout my 12 years of schooling for barracking for Melbourne. The ridicule has not stopped. It was hell being a Melbourne supporter in the 70s and 80s. During this time, my father took my brother and me to football games aligned with our opposing teams. Hawthorn enjoyed great success then, and they usually won. Melbourne usually lost. Well said Lord Nev. I wasn't aware of these stats. Petracca has been more reliable, much more aggressive and more effective this year. His bullish work and ability to break tackles and find space from the contested ball has significantly improved. Several memorable goals have resulted from this. Promising development.

Frost is deadly. I love his speed, aggression, tackling and heart. I'm rapt so many others on here want him to stay at Melbourne. So do I. This is a thread that is SO refreshingly optimistic and much needed at this point in time.

I agree sue. The same technique works for musicians trying to master difficult passages. Make it more difficult in practice and it becomes easier in performance.

Maybe so - not disregarding that, but I think Oscar's height might work to his advantage in ruck duels.

Priority must be given to set shot goal kicking, Field play was much improved but set shot kicking was, as usual, a F**KING DISASTER. IF Melbourne do nothing else but practice set shot goal kicking I will find a way to believe...again...

At the centre ball-up Max's double effort sent us forward, Viney bustled a trademark tough clearance inside 50, a brilliant ground ball get from Hunt and his pinpoint handball to Hore who had found space running toward goal and his sublime composure in the "moment of truth" as he steadied and kicked a classic sausage roll from 50 - a sight to behold! With 18 seconds to go he had put us level with GC and given us a slim chance of winning. Which we did. What Marty did cannot be over-adulated. It should be remembered especially by Demons for the ages. His goal was a watershed moment. Not just in the game but in the season...
