  1. Vanders is a dead set legend. Loved seeing him stick up for Weed after Stratton's deliberate elbow on his head. Somehow, the Weed got up after the hit, got the ball and set up a chain of play that resulted in a brilliant Pickett goal (2nd quarter about 4:20). Watch the attached footage - Weed only had eyes for the ball. Stratton only had eyes for his elbow on Weed's head. Surely Stratton should be reported for this. I would not want to be Stratton the next time Dorks play Dees... SEOW.mov
  2. Agreed Sir Why You Little: there are WAY too many interchanges; Agreed Hell Bent: ABOLISH ruck nomination; Agreed Daisycutter: REDUCE free interchange. I would go further: Reinstate the traditional 19th & 20th man and add a 21st & 22nd man using your (Daisycutter's) rules for player substitution (immediately above). This would help to see the following * Tired players rest on the forward line instead of the interchange bench * Reduce players running ability to cover every inch of the ground. * Increase space for players to kick into * Dissuade coaches from defensive strategies and steer them to more attacking strategies, to take advantage of player fatigue (like they used to...), other than having the luxury of well rested players coming off the interchange bench and being able to run and defend every part of the ground to create the congestion and poor football (as is seen today). * Decrease congestion. * Increase scoring. * Improve the enjoyment of the game for all. Less is more I say.
  3. Easy fix - Keep the TV on but turn the volume off. Put the radio on for comments instead. ABC AM are pretty good - my favourite radio commentators are Roy and HG. They used to do great calls of the Grand Final some years ago...
  4. hang in there DLS. I have a gut feeling the Dees will come back.
  5. So, there is still hope for this 2020 AFL season when we compare it to 1916: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1916_VFL_season

  11. Thanks heaps for the soccer lesson. Enlightening and educational. In the meantime time I'm looking forward to Melbourne beating our next opponent. Do you know who that is? Do you know where that is? I'll tell you: 3:35 pm. Saturday 21 June, MCG....I do hope it is by a solitary point again and I again get to enjoy reading your vitriol.
  12. Ooooooooh! How enlightening! Cooking tips and culture advice. Why don't you just shut the * up and celebrate a win against CFC. I''m celebrating. I am! We WON!. Indeed history has been made... it's 5 wins in a row against the outer suburbanites! Carlton really are a rabble of an excuse for an AFL team now.. G O T H E M I G H T Y D E M O N S. 13. Was better than ok - 5 goals to scoreless was fn brilliant. Winning by a point after giving 'em a sniff was the icing on the cake...
  14. I have a different point of view: I like, indeed love, beating Carlton by a point... How's that for deep seated culture?
  15. We Won. What's better than beating Carlton by a 100 points? Beating 'em by 1. Who knows what the players have gone through to achieve that win. Well done boys. I for one and proud of you. Good to know when the game is tight you can win. Looking forward to winning more of the same...
  16. A win is a win. 3 things: 1. Beating Carlton by a point is better than beating them by 100 (give 'em a sniff and then take it away from 'em ). I've seen both in the past 3 years and refreshingly loved both famous wins. 2. Keeping Carlton scoreless in the 1st quarter was a beautiful thing to see. Hasn't happened since 1951. Again, refreshing to see another record broken to celebrate - set prior to my birthdate! I will get serious sledging mileage with the poor unfortunates who follow CFC - scoreless in the 1st quarter HA HA HA. 3. Get Stuffed Carlton
