Name three good things
Hats ? off to the OP, really like when someone realises we need a positive thread every now and then! 1. Harmes was excellent 2. Frost improved 3. Trac improved

My 3 word player analysis V Geelong
Well, for all OMAC bashers out there (I’m normally one of them) he did rebound nicely a few times coming off his man given that Hibberd wasn’t around. He was mostly failed by the decision makers, before the game by not putting a stronger body on Tom, and during the match when conceding a few, wasn’t switched to someone else. Frost looked hungry and capable tonight- could’ve done the job.

POSTMATCH DISCUSSION - Round 18
Don’t hate me for saying anything this but: 1. Frost really improved 2. Oliver’s hands are amazing 3. Fritch tried all night (enjoy your 2 week holiday Hawkins) 4. Melk, ANB and believe it or not - Trac really stood up all night - well done Trac 5. Goody failed to call junk time 1:30 out from the siren to hold the lead... FMD’s, the boys did well, the coach failed.

GAMEDAY - Round 18
Leaders to step up today, that is, the mid-range leaders across the ground. I want to see Melk, ANB, Trac, Tyson and Harmes really step up today and take the game on their own terms. We know we’ll get 100% from the likes of Brayshaw, Gawn, Oliver, Fritch and Jets. But we need the others to lean forward. If they do, the Cats will buckle under our frenetic forward pressure. Go Dees!!!

When we beat Geelong, I will...

Pace Or Grunt
Play our own game: Ablett, Danger (if tagged) and Selwood are amazing but slow. Duncan is the scary one for mine, can rack them up with speed. Need Gawn to be creative with the taps so that the conventional mid-field clash is negated. ANB, JKH and a speedy Garlett in the middle, breaking away to receive an unorthodox tap might just counter them. Shall be an interesting matchup! Go dees!!!!

Mr Jones
Jones might be cooked, but push him Half Forward and he’ll still contribute - not Half Back because he’s not accurate enough. You can bomb at two tall sticks with a 15- degree window at 30 metres. But in defence you can’t thread a needle with a random bomb.

There is a role for Bugg
Fair call mate, I’m hearing you. Age is a real factor, rates aside, there’s conventional expectation to consider, and the window of opportunity - let’s hope ANB, Bugg and Harmes take advantage of what is laid out before them!

There is a role for Bugg
Mate, unfair assessment on young guns like ANB, Harmes and Buggy. They’ve still got dozens of games to mature and fully develop. We carried OMAC, to an extent we also carried Salem, Hogan, Trac and Brayshaw. (Claret is the freakish anomaly here). Everyone develops at different rates, cultures change over time. I say give them all a run and see what they can produce collectively together.

Losing Jack Viney
There it is then, settled. Move on lads. In my view, if we can do it without him, we’ll just have to keep at it - the fact is we don’t have a choice now, so let’s get on with it until he returns! Go dees

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
Yep agree, it’s nice to see a post with some serious thought put into it too!

Darwin game dumped
I think the Alice is a great environment for us to retain! The 'heart of the nation' concept bodes well also, allowing us to celebrate the indigenous involvement of our game which is important. 1. Retain Alice 2. Remove Darwin..

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
If the proposal comes to be, I think PJ will go down as one of Melbourne's greatest leaders in history. There may be room for a 'PJ Wing' if he pulls it off! As a kid, I always asked my Dad why Richmond's oval is 'right there', and last weekend at the QB match, walking past it after coming off the Richmond station, scooting past the Cricketer's Arms, and crossing Punt Road, gave me an uncomfortable feeling. (Although, maybe it was the two drunken Collingwood fans that stammered in unintelligibly 'crissed as a picket' language, "carn' the wood, you'll be lucky to win Dees fans" - and, only to be correct...) So, maybe it was that which made me uncomfortable? (Nevertheless, I did respond by stating audibly that I still have my front teeth..!) Ok, I digress... I think it would be amazing if we had a home ground, so close to the hallowed turf, on my favourite side of the 'G'! Fingers are definitely crossed...

Farewell Dean Kent
Nice analysis there DS! I wholeheartedly agree- DK has major upside when he’s on, and if slotted in when we need him, I’m sure he’ll rise to the occasion
