Smoking the pipe again, Ralphy

Steven May was right

No they won’t. Because they will fall into the same trap that premiers before them have, thinking that they already have the list to win multiple flags. And they don’t.

And there lies the problem. Until the umpires are called out about this, and explanations demanded, nothing will change. They are there to adjudicate, not influence the game.
-
Yes, but imagine the conundrum the umps will have!
-
When the game was on the line, the umps put the whistle away. Could I possibly hate Collingwood more than I do right now? Karma bus, where are you
-
The first quarter tonight will be telling. I expect Collingwood will try to rough up the Giants, and get away to a flyer. If that happens, game over. If GWS can stick around, then there could be an upset. As for Brisbane Carlton, I think Carlton are a chance if their midfield can provide good supply to Curnow. With Payne out, I think it leaves Brisbane a little thin in defence. Although I do think it is bizarre that Carlton omitted 4 players from a winning SF team, that could have a destabilising impact.

A sickening love fest isn't it!
-
Totally agree, we need fresh eyes. Our midfield has gone backwards in the last 2 years
-
And how do you think the player he would have replaced felt, not being out there when the final siren went? The sub was for injuries only that year, and the only one we had was May. Would you have dragged May? I think not.

Just look at his name, tells you all you need to know

Zero Hanger reporting that Harrison Petty could be used in a trade deal! Adelaide into him evidently. https://www.zerohanger.com/contracted-demon-floated-in-shane-mcadam-discussions-afl-trade-news-143364/

We have just lost 2 finals against quality opposition by a combined total of 9 points. Without a forward line missing Petty and Melksham, and JVR for one of those games. Would we be having this conversation if we had of kicked straight? Substantial games missed by key players, Gawn, Oliver, Fritsch, Petty. 2024, great draft hand, do everything possible to get Harley Reid. A fit Petty in the forward line with a bigger stronger JVR. Turner and Adams to develop as key backs. AMZ will develop, as will Taj. McVee will go to next level. We will more than likely say goodbye to TMac, Brown, Grundy, Dunstan, Jordan. Give us a healthy run next year, and we will be at the pointy end again.

Rest in peace Ron, will shed a tear tonight
-
We have been hoping for this for weeks and weeks, unfortunately it just hasn't eventuated.
-
Cant see our forward line kicking a winning score tonight. Not that I think Carlton will kick that much more. But I feel their midfield will dominate clearance, especially when Max is resting, giving their forwards more opportunity. It is going to be a very defensive game, I just think they have the edge. Injuries have come at the wrong time, as it did last year.
-
Oh come on Billy, don’t lose your number
-
Yes this is the danger. This game is going to be decided in the first quarter. Bring the heat early. As Jimmy Gadson said, use the events of the past week as motivation. If we don’t do that, it’s all over.
-
Yes, I believe we did, which further misconstrues the statement about being discarded!
-
Article in The Age today about Bedford. Gist of the story is how he is loved at the Giants, recruit of the year, blah blah. The interesting line by the journo is “discarded by the Demons”. Really? From what I recall, and stand to be corrected, is a player who wasn’t exactly carving it up at VFL level. There was one game at AFL where I remember a couple of good goals, but there were few highlights in my book. Let’s see how he goes when the Giants hit the inevitable slump

As a bona fide member of the flip flop club, I salute you sir. Well put.
