Trent Rivers Re-Signs until 2027
I note the WA press making much of his good game today...quoting him saying how much he likes playing back in his hometown and how he used to support the Eagles. His contract wouldn't expire this year, would it?

CASEY: Rd 02 vs Sydney Swans
I'd like to see Howes in the senior team at some stage. He's got it.

2022 Player Reviews: #17 Jake Bowey
Class player. Multiskilled and smart. Tougher than he looks. Better on a wing and - perhaps - an odd run on the ball (see him breaking away from the middle).

2022 Trade Report Card
Ludicrous. The author is an [censored] - and semi-literate.

Jumper numbers for season 2023?
I always liked 11. Looks good on the back. At Melbourne, has had a series of top players (Paul Johnson excluded) going back to Tony Anderson in the 1960s.

Spot on. Good deal for Weidemann.

Welcome to Demonland Josh Schache
They never stopped complaining about Weidemann - until he apparently became a potentially champion ruckman (all of a sudden).

They probably did.

Good.

Welcome to Demonland Josh Schache
They can't be serious.

Farewell Jayden Hunt
'More than happy'? You're easily pleased. Wouldn't have got the double chance if it wasn't for Hunt in those final minutes v Carlton.

Port chasing Kozzy Pickett
'Dimwit' would have done the trick.

Josh Corbett
Spot on. Also - BB is being crucified by the game plan that doesn't suit him ... as has been pointed out elsewhere in this thread.

Hawks racism allegations (merged thread)
I heard Caroline Wilson on the radio saying that "everyone is knows" the identity of the whistleblowing Hawthorn assistant coach. I don't.

Injured Players
No good belittling Geelong or whingeing about the draw. G haven't lost since May and were spectacular on Saturday. They also behaved and performed in a level-headed and business-like manner throughout the year...unlike us. Far too much self-love and self- satisfaction in the Melbourne cohort. And lack of both on and off field discipline. The May/Melksham incident was atrocious. Add in timid team selection and rigid, unimaginative tactics and its not hard to see why we fell short. Did well to finish second, but exposed in the finals.
