Cal Twomey's Top 50
Petracca is a superb example of a certain kind of player. Oliver is unique. Anyway, comparisons are odious. We're bloody lucky to have them both.

Fantastic player. Played injured last year.

Who cares? These lists are a waste of time. Footy journos trying to earn their keep.

AFL Commentary teams - How good is Daisy Pearce
Dunno, I quite like Hodge. Bit rough around the edges but honest and direct.

POSTGAME: Practice Match vs North Melbourne
Agree, one of the highlights of the game for me. (Though there were numerous.)

POSTGAME: Practice Match vs North Melbourne
Cameron has the habit of doing that, to many players. Bit hard on Smith. Obviously the club sees a lot in Smith, and they see more of him than we do. He's bound to feature in the team this year. I just wouldn't replace a fit and keen Hibberd for him.

POSTGAME: Practice Match vs North Melbourne
Hibberd is a top-class player. An AA. If he's in good shape - as he appears to be - I wouldn't be easing him in to the seconds.

POSTGAME: Practice Match vs North Melbourne
Perhaps its the new hair-do, but Harmes looks much more physically imposing than formerly.

Bring Back One Player
If Jackson becomes the equal of Stynes we have a champion.

TRAINING: Friday 11th February 2022
That's well put re Chandler. And very true. He's not far away. Will play this year at some stage. He's got the appetite.

Vale Laurie Mithen
Superstar of the team in the second half of the 1950s. Champion player. Surprised there doesn't appear to be anything on the club web site, as yet.

2021 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem
Think I missed the mum. Where was that? (And yes, the outstanding halfback in the game, bar none.)

2021 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem
Yeah, who cares? Vastly better player than Rich - and now a premiership player. Same goes for Kelly. For us, I much prefer Salem.. Tough too - touch of mongrel to go with the skills.

Your best effort.- Best Player to wear #20 since 1964.
Indeed he was. Got heaps of the ball. The answer to the question is Febey. In 3 years time I hope it is Tomlinson.- Welcome to Demonland: Blake Howes
Umm. Where to begin? The guy has just played one of the all-time great GF games - replete with superlative kicks, from the penetrating to the precise - and people are debating the dodgy height of his ball drop (so to speak). You couldn't invent it.- Welcome to Demonland: Blake Howes
Anyone who takes Sparrow to task for that devastating penultimate goal in the 3rd quarter in the GF (and that deep but deadly accurate kick to Brown at the beginning of the 4th) has some serious negativity issues. On the other hand, his general point that we shouldn't automatically accept all our recruiting selections as strokes of genius is valid. Too early to make a call on Rosman. But recruiting Howes suggests we think that Rosman - and certainly Baker - may not have long term futures. But I like Rosman - he desperately needs to play a bit more, as you suggest. The good thing is this - there will be keen competition at the club next year.- PLAYER NUMBERS AND BEST TEAMS
Good post!- PLAYER NUMBERS AND BEST TEAMS
You mean no. 2 to be put in mothballs for a while, not 'retired'? Will Woewodin junior get his old man's 22?- Dermott’s 2022 flag prediction
A sensible response, compared with some of the angry hyperbole on this thread. Brereton put the Demons in his top 3, for God's sake. What more do people want?- Danners and the Cup
Several of these gentlemen - esp in the back row - I can't identify. Help!!!- 2021 Player Reviews: #32 Tom Sparrow
I take it the comments about Sparrow's kicking and 'decision making' are meant to be funny? The 'low percentage long goal' - made with Bulldogs players charging at him - was one of the goals of the year. The second one at the start of the 4th he spotted Brown with a long and penetrating kick. It was superb - and recognised as such by Bartel on the radio commentary. Just as well he didn't pissfart around looking for options spied from the comfort of the lounge chair. Bit different out on the ground. - Grand Final Celebration at the G
