  1. We can't afford to take the foot off the gas. We need to finish top 4 to have a chance and the other teams are only 2 games behind us.
  2. I think he is in trouble, but I hope not.
  3. I love our young players and life after Gawn is now insured with Jackson who will blossom in his natural position. I think the Bowey comparisons with Caleb Daniel are a bit unfair as I think he is more comparable to a John Noble who I actually rate as a player so hopefully he becomes a good player. I also have high hopes for Rosman too. I like what I've seen so far from him. A true shame about Mac Andrew not falling through to us in next years draft. He would've complimented our list perfectly.
  4. I tend to agree. Definitely a better kick for goal.
  5. I'm not saying try him back this season. But we can start grooming him in the vfl down back for other seasons. Especially when Ben Brown can substitute for Weideman pretty easily.
  6. doesn't need to take marks mate, just spoil mate. Petty gave away 4 bad free kicks tonight so I wouldn't say we have depth in this position. It's not a coincidence we picked up defenders in the midseason draft.
  7. No he's not. not sure where you got your sources from. He's out til after the byes.
  8. couldn't agree more. I think he'd make a great defender. Good athleticism, attacks the ball in the air, long arms. I'd love to see him played there and I've said it for years.
  9. Out: Sparrow (I think he'll go) In: Langdon * Ben Brown got 4 possessions in the vfl last week so unless he forces his way back into the team we shouldn't change a team too much that's just beaten the dogs and now lions.
  10. Gawn - showed great leadership Petracca - impossible to stop Oliver - damaging as usual McDonald - excellent second half Sparrow - great role game May - slow first half. Neal-Bullen - kicked the sealer Brayshaw - good despite handballs Harmes - finding his role Spargo - Is becoming important Pickett - good despite howler Jordon - Vanilla but serviceable Salem - Foot skills welcomed. Fritsch - 2 quiet goals Rivers - becoming my favourite! Jackson - Not a forward Hunt - Needs more footy. Petty - 4 Frees Against Weideman - Brown v Weideman Hibberd - Finding old form Lever - Quieter than usual Melksham - Hasn't found form.
  11. feedback: - a little generous on Olivers first half. - A little generous on Jackson. Needs to hold more marks. -Disagree with Petty. Gave a dumb 50m away and 4 free kicks. Far too costly for a key defender. -Agree on Rivers and Hibberd. Agree on Pickett: his missed shots for goal were discussion worthy. I didn't know melksham was tagging though.
  12. Rich: Because it was a massive stage and everyone was watching us. And a melee always helps. Dogs: Regarded as the best team and we outplayed them all 4 quarters and I expected us to lose Brisbane: See above. But we rallying after half time was pleasing. And now everyone knows that our best is the best in the comp. Geelong: A good team with senior bodies. Without May in the team. Good win. Sydney: An underrated team Sydney. People don't give them their credit. A good win in the wet. Slogged it out. gutsy. Saints win: I rate the saints from last year. We were down by 4 goals and came back and won. Good win. gws win Carlton. hawks win Freo win: An unconvincing win round 1. Adelaide loss North win: This was our worst game of the season despite the win. It was the old Melbourne in the first half and it took me a few weeks to unsee that.
  13. Dr.D's points. Positive points: - Great fight back against a top 4 team. - Spargos continued improvement. - TMac continuing to prove people wrong. - ANB's sealer was a thing of beauty. - Rivers' one on one work. - Sparrow finding the ball at afl level and hitting the scoreboard at an important stage in the last qtr. Negative points - Umpiring (Daniher's continuous pushing in the back on Jackson yet never called and about 10 Brisbane holding the balls not paid. I got 4 of them saved on my phone. The Lyons one was the worst). - Overall set shot goal kicking (Must be worked on! kozzy's was horrific and he really needs to improve on it. And Weideman is too tense in the shoulders and is a horrific kick for goal afl level and yet a dead eye at vfl level. frustrating). - People have a strange infatuation with Weideman's form. He is a 23 year old key forward who may not be the superstar that people want him to be but give him a break. We paid a lot to bring a superstar in Ben Brown in who has played worse than Weido did tonight so the criticism should be squarely on Ben Brown, not Weideman. -Salem's holding the ball. C'mon mate, you're better than that. -- Jackson's marking still an issue. Running under the ball a lot still.
  14. 6. Petracca 5. Spargo 4. Gawn 3. Oliver 2. Kozzie 1. ANB
  15. can they start paying Daniher pushing Jackson in the back over and over. Oliver lift!
  16. can we start kicking it to dangerous spots into our forward line. ffs! Also, Oliver and Petracca get [censored] involved!
  17. does anyone know why Jordon only plays 67% time on ground? crazy low
  18. im looking forward to tonight. we have nothing to lose. Last week showed that our best is good enough. Tonight is about showing that we are contenders. We need to focus on: 1) not allowing Brisbane to score in the first 30 seconds after we kick a goal (we seem to switch off as this has been a pattern this year and 2) get off to a good start.
  19. can't read it, its blocked.
  20. Viney officially ruled out til after the byes. so a 1-2 weeks injury has turned into 7 weeks (minimum). Its not good enough. Either jack has played through an injury making it worse or the club doctors haven't respected his long foot injury history enough. this is pissing me off so much. he is so important to us
  21. Robbo's opinion couldn't mean any less. He has an IQ under 100 and the fact that he is on tv is a slight on the afl media as an entity.
  22. I'd imagine it's his body issues.
  23. Freeman has decent foot skills so not sure what you're getting at.
