  1. As nice as it is to win the match against Geelong - I'm hoping we manage/rest as many players as possible. If not for the benefit of the team, but mostly for the reduction in concern on this forum, and the inevitable extrapolation about what a loss means.
  2. shut down role on the wing - its been explained many times... is he perfect? - ๐Ÿ‘Ž
  3. And he'd jhave locked the 3 (or 2 due to Seedsman) brownlow votes today...
  4. Permanent anxiety now that I have expectations of 'my' team. ๐Ÿคฃ
  5. Reminder the the aggrieved masses - handballs over the head is in vogue... it's not the 90's anymore.
  6. I hear you... and I'm a little sad. Feels like it's not on his terms (which I guess it aint).
  7. Teams may hold fears for us as supporters. I doubt it as the players, (sure, they'll do their research) - they've had months of evidence that they're a solid team, that opponents can throw whatever they want at them, and they typically respond well. Goodwin and the FD have been preparing the team for this scenario for years. Mature heads, some seasoned bodies, with a game plan that consistently stacks up (or has, less imperfections than other teams in the heat of finals), as well as players that know how to consistently execute their role. For Finals, its any team, any where. - and now we've demonstrated that essentially we can do, any team, anywhere - it's clearly our best chance for 60 years.
  8. Why? You can have an ideal of what a place is like, it doesnt mean you feel valued by the current incumbents.
  9. Huh? I don't understand what you are saying.
  10. Glad we now know via direct experience as a team that we can win there... (as we have done a few times over the last 5 years).
  11. Good stuff @roy11 - what do you find interesting about it?
  12. The very last centre bounce where he ran at pace towards the Eagles goals and (in my view) had no right to get the ball, but did and dished it off was incredible. 5 years ago, when McCartney spoke about his capacity to hit the ball at speed, that was it, exemplified.
  13. Ahhh those ungrateful players, not thinking about the supporters back home, stop focusing on the game/your body/risk for finals, and think about the supporters FMD
  14. Presumably we require momentum, or Geelong are the litmus test, or...
  15. I hear you Clint, ideally we would have got one or two more. I guess it feels like evidence that we constantly give up those 5 goal leadsโ€ฆ except all the times we donโ€™t anymore.
  16. For those who are a bit jaded by the last 15 minute output. imagine youโ€™re 6 goals up - 15 to go, youโ€™ve cooled down - youโ€™ve essentially sewn up top 4. And Burgess says, donโ€™t go out and injure yourself, play it cool, play it safeโ€ฆyouโ€™ve got another 5 matches to go for the season. do you a) play it safe or b) ensure a greater likelihood of injury after cooling down and go really really hard?
  17. A question to all those that frequent here Assuming we win against the Eagles, I'm fascinated as to what we do with our game plan over the next two weeks. I liked the notion that (I believe it was @binman) against the Dogs, Goodwin and co, chose not to address certain obvious 'win's that the Bulldogs were getting, be it an extra extra number at the clearance. I would assume that there are enough eyes, and enough acumen to be able to see what the Dogs were doing, but chose not to react or show all our hand in the lead up to the finals. But... then there is the acknowledgement that all teams play to their strengths, and why now would we start incorporating different strategies - particularly when it has served as so well this year, against all teams. How do you think the FD will deal with the next two weeks with respect to strategy?
  18. Assuming we win, I'm fascinated as to what we do with our team over the next two weeks with management of niggles, or gifting certain players playing time in the lead up to the finals. I would also assume, that there will be some inference that if certain players are not given a game, they may not be at the club next year.
  19. Not as unbelievable as the 3 brownlow votes he'll get ๐Ÿ˜
  20. All about the eyes on TV eh @Clintosaurus?
  21. Inhale the anxiety @Jaded ๐Ÿ˜‡
  22. The Mongrel Punts take of The Rising Star Polling as of Round 20 *spoiler - clearly has a Dees player floating near the top. **ugh completely misinterpreted thisโ€ฆ anyways good for a read https://themongrelpunt.com/afl-season-2021/2021/08/07/mongrel-rising-star-round-20/?fbclid=IwAR2HOQ_yERyi0Hl_hM1xIklXvhffP2_Qdt1Gl0t9qYA8r0yyx1aWrygVSXg
  23. Thanks for the stat. On reflection of my emotions during each match - there is no way that is possible.
  24. Thanks for the feedback Wrecker, I appreciate it. I've never warmed to Taylor, and personally, I'm all in favour of redemption, is Taylor a rigid/permanently fixed racist... I doubt it. But... I struggle to seperate on certain issues. eg: Very very pleased I haven't heard Michael Jackson on the radio in numerous years. However it appears with Taylor, there have been a range of laddish, insensitive experiences over the course of his career, that wouldn't necessarily fit in with the culture that Goodwin has created (or society sanctioned). Do we as a club expend energy on one person to mould them at this point of time for them, or for us? Nah... I don't think so. If we're to speak about the industry as a bubble of employment, then each club has indigenous staff/players, on your last point - it shouldn't be up to indigenous individuals to have to be present, to 'stamp it out'. Times are changing, and rapidly so... and thank gawd for that... just not soon enough....now would be great... How soon is now? *cough* massive segue coming up... Speaking of bigotry, as Morrissey once sang... 'How soon is now.... Randomly, if I'm fitting the lyrics of that song on to either of the individual - I'm not sure which individual it fits, the victim or the perpetrator...potentially both. " I am the son And the heir Of a shyness that is criminally vulgar I am the son and heir Of nothing in particular You shut your mouth How can you say I go about things the wrong way? I am human and I need to be loved Just like everybody else does There's a club if you'd like to go You could meet somebody who really loves you So you go and you stand on your own And you leave on your own And you go home and you cry And you want to die When you say it's gonna happen now When exactly do you mean? See I've already waited too long And all my hope is gone You shut your mouth How can you say I go about things the wrong way? I am human and I need to be loved Just like everybody else does:
