  1. doesnt get enough of it....
  2. Granted - this post should appear elsewhere. I'm just not sure where. Now, I am a simple person on so many levels... and I've just turned on Garry Lyon asking a question about whether Essendon will tag Lachie Neale (mid way through the 4th). Now... I recall last week - Nathan Buckley talking about how teams want their system to work, and how by tagging it takes a person out of the system. Old mate @Axis of Bob does a great summary of this. Matter of fact the game really hasn't tagged in the last 5-7 years. Why the [censored] do commentators keep discussing things that were relevant 10 years ago, when they could be disecting things and informing the public of the current status quo. Cause I am assuming Garry is not as simple as me... I am presuming that part of the commentary contract is to not discuss each teams *ugh, vomit*...'IP' during a match I just want to know, was Garry being sardonic?
  3. Shout out to a certain P McCartin. I’m raising a glass of whatever to his persistence tonight.
  4. Then we wouldn't have had the glory of Tom McDonalds after the siren goal in the Grand Final. (surely a trivia question this year at your local pub trivia...)
  5. arghhhh! Facts, facts facts! I want cognitive biases!
  6. @Clintosaurus . sorry clint...all sorted.
  7. Is this the thread to come to if I am after assurances, or for for conflicting info and wild guesses?
  8. It's high art on here when Bjork s quoted.(I have a strong affinity for many things Icelandic) i Anyway... perhaps these lyrics are apt for Luke's relationship towards Tom... The opposite of love isn't hatred...it's apathy! 😍 "Shhhh, Shhhh It's, oh, so quiet Shhhh Shhhh It's, oh, so still Shhhh Shhhh You're all alone Shhh Shhh And so peaceful until... You fall in love Zing boom The sky up above Zing boom Is caving in Wow bam You've never been so nuts about a guy You wanna laugh ,you wanna cry You cross your heart and hope to die 'Til it's over and then..."
  9. So the evidence continues to build - for supporters, but more importantly, the players and FD, whereby we can 'allow' teams to have momentum, to put on 5-8 goals, and for it not to affect us in starting to play safe (be it as a team, or as individuals)...moving us away from roles and structures. This team, just keeps grinding and going, and committing to what it knows, giving itself the best opportunity to win matches, irrespective of scores and scoreline . It is seriously impressive.
  10. Good to see TMAC taking some marks down back in the later parts of the game. Also good to see he still kicks flat punts into the back of players heads...
  11. Not sure if I have missed it in 2021 - I am loving having the indigenous names of the locations of where the grounds are in the AFL Round by Round guide. Bout time.
  12. Thanks for bringing this to our attention!
  13. So I am wondering how quick the hand wringing begins if we lose the match tomorrow? Or will people be more at ease with the context of injury impacting continuity and thus performance? (unlike people's reflections on the 2019/2020 seasons)
  14. It's like James Brayshaw has ripped the heart of out of Bob Murphy like Kano in Mortal Kombat!
  15. It's about the mechanics of the machine getting fine tuned, not the outcome. Personnel getting exposure to systems and their own stress inoculation. *must remember this myself if we lose.
  16. I'd laugh mate, but the link was a bit effed.
  17. Yes! How dare she consider other options in a timeframe that suits her and her family and have significant ramifications for their future! Won't she think about the supporters feelings! (that think her sole existence at this point in time is to win matches of football that involve people that they have never met wearing colours that they symbolically love)!
  18. I remember getting a tour of it in 1998 at my first year as a Sports Administration student at Vic Uni - we had a jaunt into town from out at Sunbury... come see the amazing Colonial Stadium we were told... we got to walk around - and then they went to show us how the seating arrangements could be reconfigured in a relatively short space of time from AFL seating to soccer (closer in seats that moved in on wheels ) into a square ground arrangement. The seats then proceed to move... and then we hear grinding noises and then it halts... 20 minutes later pass and then we are told that due to unforseen circumstances the preview of the amazing seating configuration could not take place. 80 uni students start pissing themselves laughing. I'd hazard a guess those mechanics have barely if ever been used since 1998.
  19. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/cats-coup-daisy-pearce-weighs-offer-to-join-geelong-as-afl-assistant-coach-20220301-p5a0s3.html Weigh in, have your say! Should Daisy be able to lead her own life and consider options from other employers in an industry that she respected in, and some of us supporters could shout "Traitor" at her or should she remain 'loyal' no matter what and be loved universally. OR Should Daisy be able to lead her own life and consider options from other employers in an industry that she respected in, and be universally loved?
  20. A rangy forward? He's a poor man Darryl White - and Darryl was quite the silky player.
  21. The Charles Spalding McDonald Cup?
  22. past laurels for sure.
  23. LN: "His defensive mindset, awareness and positioning on the wing got better as the year went on. Early on it seemed he wanted to play his game but in a different position, but from about mid year it seemed to really start clicking for him in how he should be playing his role and how important the defensive aspect was including things like spoils, intercepts and 1 percenters. " seems to = SWYL:"The comment was made that Brayshaw’s role on the wing was not so important and that he is easily replaceable if he decides to leave. " Perhaps you are getting confused with another poster?? Ps...the scoreboard is not the ultimate judge of how one individual in a system has performed...but I guess what you are saying is, if we win...the individual performance levels don't actually matter to you - result was achieved..so...tick! I guess this is really a conversation about being nuanced vs inexact in how we see things. Have a good day!
