  1. F*** me i did not look at round 22. Well I feel a fool. It was a nice thought after yesterdays match ?
  2. **Edited to Monday Night for the Friday night thread [censored] up that I made without looking at round 22's game in Perth. Currently highest seeded teams from that round. So Monday? Some media pundits were calling for Monday or Tuesday night matches to bridge the gap between round 23 and the finals with the bye week so perhaps Melb v GWS could be just such a fixture for that kind of occasion. Could be a crucial match for the formulation of the top 8 and even top 4 and looks juicier than every other game from a football contest and style perspective, if you put aside the visual low attendances of a GWS fixture. Just seems like the kind of match that could shine as a night game, rather than an afternoon one. Re Friday, Saturday or Monday night: Probably will never happen as they'll give it to Sydney v Hawthorn, Port v Essendon or Rich v WB. The bastards would even give it to StK v Kangas or Carl v Adel before us. All of which seem destined at this current stage to be between a team in the finals vs a team not in contention or two teams not in contention.
  3. Kangas or Sydney is an interesting one. I'm inclined to hope Sydney win as it's in our own power to knock down the Swans. I know they'll be challenging for the top 4 and Kangas for 8th, but in the next two weeks we can ruin the chances of the Cats and Crows too. We can have 4 or 5 teams disposed of as we mount a challenge for higher up on the ladder.
  4. Thank god for the bye, if we do make it through it!
  5. Positives that suggest a win is imminent: Tom Mac is not a defender anymore. Travis '7 goal bag' Cloke has retired.
  6. Just wait until next year when we bamboozle the opposition with Andrew Gaff at Full Forward!
  7. These AFL media pundits have more holidays than schoolteachers! Any excuse ay
  8. The last player i had down for a Brownlow was Cam Bruce after witnessing him in his first year. I had him down for 3 Brownlows too. "The next James Hird" - Nailed it!
  9. France. I'm feeling confident of a smashing. so 5-1
  10. Some have bounced the idea of trading him for Darcy Moore as the Pies need cap space apparently, and it would also satisfy eddie's nostalgic bones
  11. As the leader of the race for the wooden boot, might i suggest 3 points for the 3rd place playoff? Though i'm hearing both teams will play their b side, so maby its only worth 0.3 points
  12. Interesting observation on Vanders. Where does a player like him fit into the forward line structure? He's not a KPF or Crumber. Does he become a 3rd tall that can stretch defences? I can't recall if he was a good mark/shot for goal. We've got a bull in Petracca there already, would it make us too top heavy? Could he play on gorilla forwards as a second or third tall alongside Oscar with your Wagner comparison? Or is he a forward through and through? Edit: Oh just just saw @kevin martin comment: "Backs had Cam Pederson and Aaron vandenBerg. " comment. Interesting times ahead. How did they look as defenders?
  13. I think 2/5 will rely percentage or another team/s losing an unexpected game for us to definitively make it on points. Not a good route.
  14. Yeah second half was a bit of a let down. As it had a lot of time wasting. Bit of a talking point over on reddit. Time keeping is such a terrible aspect of soccer compared with the professionalism of other sports where we value every second lost by making it up with TIME OFF. Even just having 1 minute increments of stoppage time seems so lazy. Surely if you have somewhere counting every second, then you end up with precise Min and Sec to add ie 8min 45s. And then near end of injury time, add even more on a board for the wasted time in Injury time. " [Lapanje] Next thing they should add to modernise football is to change stoppage time to effective time. Today 6 minutes was added but the ball was in play for maybe 2-3 minutes. Yet the referee blew at almost exactly 96'. Heavily encourages time-wasting. Same story in most games I watch " https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/8xsqkw/lapanje_next_thing_they_should_add_to_modernise/ Having said that, I liked France's game. So professional. Their defence was enormous. Defended the lead so well and gave Belgium nothing. Really felt the divide between an experienced football power and a middleweight team that is trying to emerge, even though the only difference was a corner goal. I wonder if Belgium for the 2022 world cup is a good bet
  15. How much of a difference is there between Spargo and Baker in terms of not being ready?
  16. These games are as close to a flip of the coin as you'll ever get imo, and I'm down by 3 to DZ, it's a terrible strategy to go the opposite to you, but I have to make a move lol. Therefore the final will be France v England (the opposite of what I'll barrack for
  17. Wouldn't gifting someone games to get to a magic number be put under the 'reputation' category? Oddly paradoxical comment. For the record I don't think Lewis is being gifted games.
  18. I have us playing the Hawks (6v7) if we can snag one against Geelong (And of course beat WB/GCS/ADEL/GWS) Can't wait to get one back against that mullet haired Stratton [censored].
  19. Surprised we haven't had a "Hunting for Hanneberries" thread created yet I don't want to be the one to start it though as it's not my rumour...
  20. Funny tweet, awful hashtag. Abusive fans are the worst. #GrowUpCouttsy20
  21. Far out I hope all of you WCE/Gaff watchers will be reimbursed by the club for the scouting time put in
