  1. I think we can all get behind the Lachie Weller precedent for a potential Dom Tyson trade. I just hope the club would pick the next Josh Kelly though this time ?
  2. "Most uncharacteristic from Alex Rance there.." "Yup. That's just a man that's frustrated, he's tried his heart out tonight" ? https://youtu.be/nktD6g_TUHs
  3. Found it. 2015 Round 15 vs Essendon. Paul Roos saying he threw a few things around with Tom Mac up forward in the last quarter. He kicked a goal and he missed 2 set shots. Video "sprayed shots cost the Dees" http://www.afl.com.au/match-centre/2015/15/ess-v-melb And in the highlight video as he marks Derwayne R saying: "Of all the people to go to, and Essendon have left him free" Long time ago lol, sorry about that. It didn't cotton on that he was going to be a dangerous forward at the time, but he did take some good marks on the lead, which felt odd at the time, seeing our CHB up forward.
  4. That was definitely the break out game, but we did experiment with him for one last quarter i believe in an MCG game. Doesn't matter though, just curious.
  5. The same thing is said about Oscar Mcdonald playing forward in juniors. Are you thinking what i'm thinking? Don't need a defence if it never goes down there.
  6. Which game was it when we first trialled him in the forward line in the second half of a match, and he suprisingly kicked a few and always looked like a solid lead up target? At the time it seemed kind of odd and gimmicky. Oh how times have changed.
  7. 4th would be lovely. We still have some unfinished business against West Coast from 1994, well I do.
  8. Some of OMAcs passes on Saturday were really confident attacking penetrative kicks. I think he looks far more confident than earlier last year.
  9. Re-signing Frost to the end of 2019 has backfired if he's been overtaken as depth. I like many others, had him as trade bait prior to the Lever signing and were a little confused when it was announced. I thought we had Lever in the bag all year?
  10. Nice work PA. Curious though if you had seen Petty and Spargo prior to their drafting? One thing that has happened earlier this season was that almost none of the regular VFL watchers and reporters predicted Spargo to be selected, with the general opinion that he wasn't ready just yet, and yet he ticked the coaches boxes. Curious if Petty has done the same, as the consensus is that he's not ready, granted it's different position to a small forward. Going back in time, wikipedia says OMac made his debut in round 22 of 2015, so it wouldn't be unprecedented to see Petty in there. Edit: Who knows, maybe a lanky American in Mason Cox is the best matchup for our tallest new defender upon debut, and OMAC can play a bit of a Lever role in doing some intercept work, having seen how it's done first hand in the past 2 months. Also noticed that some of OMACs kicks on the weekend were quite accurate and attacking, like some of Hibberds long range kicks.
  11. Even without reid, I think we should go an extra tall like Frost, otherwise Grundy will push forward and expose our lack of height, then we'll probably lose Gawny's effectiveness up forward as he'll probably be helping OMAC more often down back as Cox's reach is supreme. If we've at least got Frost helping Omac, we can do a bit of blocking
  12. Oh yeah I didn't mean a long amount of time, just more minutes than the past few matches. Throwing him in there for the start of the third or fourth with the scores tied is hopefully the stage where he'll step up and throw his weight around, burst through some tackles etc.
  13. More midfield time to Petracca i reckon, he was showing some big signs that his best is soon to come, Dogs couldn't bring him to ground. Can be an impact player in the middle against their mids.
  14. Could've said the same thing about Collingwood's Adam Oxley the intercept extraordinaire, before he murdered us on QB a few years back lol
  15. Question for those with a bit of training session knowledge, which player/s were being groomed as intercept defender depth? We now know that Adelaide had Doedee learning the craft in the reserves, and he's come in and had an impact already. We're obviously well behind the eight ball, but who are the prime candidates who spend the most time learning the same role as Lever with the defensive coach?
  16. I didn't know the human services.gov website had a forum?
  17. As interesting as the thread is to read, it feels a bit heavy on the arrogance by looking down on other clubs and revelling in their frustration. Each club has [censored] supporters making hilariously delusional quotable posts. I'll take a guess that comments on other clubs forums won't appear here after we lose either. Negativity squared wouldnt be fun.
  18. I'm thinking perhaps Oscar McDonalds form could still translate to some aerial dominance like Lever and Tom Mc of yesteryear, his disposal was noticeably very attacking yesterday too. Do we have a more ready made lock down defender to come in instead of a like for like intercepter like Lever? This may be robbing Peter to pay Paul as Omac has been so good as fullback, but perhaps Frost/Keilty could be given a go as 1 on 1 lockdown fullback, instead of trying to find a Lever replacement ? It's going to take some weeks for any player brought in as a Lever replacement, to find their form and judgement of when to attack the contest.
  19. Yeah. But I suppose they couldn't have gone with the 'carlton should chase Garlett' story if they're raffling players not in our 22 for news lol
  20. Just make sure Mr Wahoo!! of the demon faithful gets his seat near the microphone again. Love hearing that after every goal
  21. I like this quote from a st kilda fan over on reddit "If I've learned anything in the last three weeks, it's "play Melbourne if you wanna get f****d"
  22. Considering we've had Pat McKenna and another player [Forgotten his name it's been that long] on the long term injury list without a game in 3 or 4 years, it makes sense to have Pedo in reserve for the foreseeable future if his body is willing. Who's to say he hasn't got another 2 to 3 years in him? He came back pretty fit in the off-season and shed a lot of kilo's. He might even have a massive tom mac like impact if given the opportunity later in the year.
  23. Hah, you don't see anyone kicking like Darren Bennett anymore. Casually strolls in and boots the proverbial out of it into the car park from 30-40m out.
  24. Big fish. A glass of red to settle the nerves pre show should do the trick.
