  1. I'd like to see Dunn played in a Ryan O'Keefe style role off a half forward flank. He's got a pretty good engine and would compliment Miller and Bate also pushing up the ground.
  2. And membership over 27,000. Is 30,000 still possible?
  3. FWIW CC suggested at the after-match function yesterday that a review would be undertaken after round 7.
  4. Yeah we had chat a couple of years ago at the Pineapple. I think Sylvia had just had one of his few impressive games and we were both predicting greatness.
  5. Good to hear you're going Mousey - we'll have to catch up for a beer.
  6. I don't know much about the dynamics of Casey and not much has been said about this development. Do people believe that a realistic opportunity exists to lay foundations in the area?
  7. Great point in regards the London Football Club. I think the use of the word malaise is a little unfair when labelling the supporters of this club. Given the number of 'supporters' we have, the number converted into 'members' is quite impressive. Let's stop stabbing each other in the back and look at the way forward. With the lack of success we've had over the past 44 years, I'm amazed sometimes that we're still going. Consider the lack of facilites and separated training, admin and social structures and it's a bloody miracle we've been competitive for so many of the last 20 years. If we are to survive and then (as ND loved saying) thrive, unity is the key. From my perspective this club is 2 years ahead of the criticism. The plans for new Admin and training facilities is genuinely exciting. Add the fresh approach of a determined new coach, the energy of Chris Connolly and the profile of Paul McNamee and I'm convinced we're well placed to grow and again be competitive on and off the field within the next 2 seasons. What we need to do is place a little faith in the decisions of the past 24 months and jump on board and support our team. There's a reason why some clubs are more successful than others. We throw around the word 'culture' for good reason. Culture is the key. A stable culture that promotes a strong work ethic and the avoidance of short cuts is critical. Culture is restricted to players or coaches, it applies to supporters as well! Calling for the board to be thrown out could very well signal the end. Gardner and his board have started on a journey and have every right to see many of their goals and objectives realized over the next 12 - 24 months. The passion of every contributor to this forum cannot be questioned and the current spate of negativity is understandable but not productive. Don't meekly accept every generalized, reclycled, cliched piece of crap to be offered up by a growing band of negativity-hunting footy journos. And don't be fooled by the predictable public lashing handed out by an agenda-driven AFL. When things are bad (in football and life) I've always been buoyed by the sentiment expressed by many of the wiser posters on this forum. It's often been said that when things are good, they're never quite as good as they seem and equally, when things are bad, they're quite as dire as they seem. The worm will turn and the reward, as always, will be all the more sweeter, if you've stuck by the team and the club when they needed you most. If easy success is what you're after, move to England and go and support Chelsea or tour with the Australian cricket team when they next head to Zimbabwe or Bangladesh. Kipling was onto something when he wrote his popular poem 'If'. Maybe a few of the hissy fit throwing posters on Demonland and Demonology could follow his advice and maybe one day they will become men. Put simply, whinging is for petulant children. Let's become a band of supporters know for their intestinal fortune and moral fibre. Let's become doers. Let's become part of the solution and stop contibuting to the negativity that may well kill the club we claim to love.
  8. Is there a mod in the house? I'm not schizophrenic and neither am I. But I'm pretty sure McLean/McLean5/burne gimp is!
  9. Latest from the 'Naitanui Watch': http://www.swandistrictsfc.com/ Swan Districts had the bye last week, looks like he went ok again in senior company. Still can't believe I'm lowering myself to this.
  10. Frawley played Jaded.
  11. Pretty disappointing to find that in the aftermath of our capitulation two senior players (Miller and Robertson) have spoken to the media and both tried to explain away our loss by pointing to the youth and inexperience in the team. A pity they didn't examine the performance of the leadership group a little more closely.
  12. Cox was elevated off the Eagles' rookie list in 2000.
  13. I never thought I'd do this but I'm warming to the concept of 'Naitanui Watch'. http://www.news.com.au/perthnow/story/0,21...5005401,00.html
  14. Tells a tale doesn't it? Gotta be positive. Let's look for a big half from our future. What will Morton, Jones, Garland, Buckley, Newton, Petterd and Weetra show?
  15. This is about the third time in a month I've wholeheartedly agreed with what you've said. I'm not quite sure what that means. But I'm sure you'll tell me.
  16. Team Pugwash is in.
  17. MFC Rocks My World And A Premiership's On The Way.
  18. Even better - thanks Brocky.
  19. 41 out of 43 sounds great but don't we have 44 on our list?
  20. It took 3 days but I knew it was coming. Cheers Grooski.
  21. I'm pleased to announce two new members - a Liverpool fan from Bristol and a Cowboys fan from North West Queensland. I'd like to officially challenge all Demonlanders to convert two less likely membership candidates.
  22. Ok, this post will no doubt have me labeled as the forum knit-picker but put simply, enough is enough. Below is a list of the current MFC players. Please note the spelling of each of these names and feel free to refer to this post whenever you're unsure of the spelling of one of our players. In particular, please note the spelling of Meesen, Moloney and Dunn (minus an 'e' on the end). In addition, for those who like to reminisce, note the double 'r' in Garry Lyon and the correct spelling of David Schwarz. Thank you for your indulgence. 1 Simon Buckley 2 Nathan Jones 3 Clint Bartram 4 Ben Holland 5 Brock McLean 6 Matthew Bate 7 Brad Miller 8 James Frawley 9 David Neitz 10 Cale Morton 11 Paul Johnson 12 Colin Sylvia 13 Adem Yze 14 Lynden Dunn 15 Ricky Petterd 16 Jack Grimes 17 Chris A. 23. 27 touches to Morton last week Sylvia playing 3 good games in a row Moloney playing with a bit of zip Miller showing signs tonight Jones looks to have taken another step at the start of 08 Newton imposing until hurt last week Davey shrugging off last years knee problems Neitz successfully (touch wood) through his 224th pre-season Petterd returns from near death experience less than 6 months ago No fresh injuries (its seems) tonight Yeah I'm off to slit my wrists. People round here need to get a serious grip. FFS McDonald, Green, Bartram and Bruce were all missing from our midfield tonight
  24. Tredrea post-knee injury meant Port had to restructure and Bailey has certainly seen first hand how a collection of skillful, small-medium forwards can work. I still like the look of a forward line with two big bodies in it - particularly in September.
  25. Yze Magic is pretty passionate.
