  1. His set shots on goal last night were excellent. Looked very calm, confident and competently executed action.
  2. Big Maysie is great value for his enforcer like presence. You just need to look at his eyes when he has his war face on and it's like - get the [censored] away.
  3. Exactly. I'd have so much more respect for the analysis of guys like Kingy and Garry Lyon if the had actually coached and in the modern era. Do like the commentary of guys like Roos, Parkin and to some extent I didn't even mind Mick Malthouse from this perspective.
  4. Lol and ahhhhh/grrr all at the same time.
  5. 6 Oliver 5 May 4 Trac 3 Viney 2 Weid 1 Jacko the Mullet
  6. Ducking or incidental high contact - some common sense please.
  7. I thought that was just a little rich from Dermie
  8. Getting seriously shafted by the umps
  9. I'm not quite so optermistic, but I think we could have a meaningless 100 point win tonight.
  10. Yeah ... nah. That would be gutless, dishonest and frankly really bad leadership. Say what you will about Goodies coaching prowess, but I really don't think that kind of behavior is in his DNA.
  11. It's gone a full 180 with Trac. While he is proving that he can play predominantly as a mid and providing pleanty of drive from that part of the ground, it has somewhat deprived our forward line of a strong marking option and a player that can bullock his way through traffic and kick a good snap goal. It would be good if our mids were given the licence to change up what role they were playing in-game so that the Trac weapon could be used where it is most needed. Similarly, if the opposition's midfeild gets on top like it has in the past few weeks, Harmes should be thrown into the midfeild mix and perhaps let Trac play forward.
  12. As a bit of a segway, I think I'd be happy enough to trade Brayshaw to Freo to play with his bro, if we got a fit and switched on Jesse Hogan back in return (there was rumor of Jesse wanting back to Melbourne/Vic earlier in the year). I honestly haven't followed Jesse much in recient times, so don't know if this is really a realistic assessment or not, but our forward line did function so much better with him, that it could be a trade that made sense to both parties. Perhaps even if Hogan is a little NQR physically, we can get Darren Burgess to work some magic on him.
  13. Sorry, but this seems such a contradictory statement. Doesn't the fact that we didn't pick up said 5th rated player at 9 mean that we actually rate him that much in the end? I've been moderately impressed with Pickets kicking skills, my main criticism would be that he doesn't get enough of them, but it's still pretty early days.
  14. The other thinking I've heard on Jackson is that he is so mobile he could almost be played as a ruck rover, which having watched him play, I'd say is pretty on the money. And what's to say that we couldn't play both Max and Jacko, a bit like Cox and Nic Nat?
  15. Max is 28. It typically can take at least 3 or 4 years for a ruckman to mature. I think the timing is about right.
  16. I think the ultimate aim is to get an elite ruckman.
  17. Probably too late to cast votes for Thursday's game and not really a game that casting votes for anyone much was palatable, but I would have had Steven May right up there, along with Max and probably Lockhart in there somewhere. The other I'd probably consider putting in the votes somewhere is Melksham, I think he has been starting to exert good influence in games over the past two weeks. After somewhat shaky starts, where some questioned their worth I think both Lockhart and Steve May have been showing their quality and value to the team over the past couple of weeks in particular.
  18. SWYL, sorry, but read the tread - it's all about Qld MFC members just wanting at ticket to see our side live more than once or twice a year that we normally do - obviously we are not in Melbourne. I really do feel for you and all my freinds and family back in the motherland in Melbourne, having to suspend key social/economic aspects of your lives again can't be much fun. But your endless OTT comments about COVID-19 are starting to wear very thin. I'm not offended, I just think your position lacks logic and common sense. I'm not a science/COVID denier by a long shot, quite the contrary. But to infer that people in Brisbane should all stay at home and not attend the footy, because Melbourne is having an outbreak and one person I SA tested positive is similar to saying the whole world should have shut down and gone into lockdown when parts of Africa had an Ebola outbreak a few years back - it's all about testing and risk management. I was actually sick a few weeks ago, had a test and it was a virus - the Rhino virus, not the Rona. Lots of people with symptoms up here are being tested and testing negative, so I'm not super concerned at the moment. Maybe in a few weeks that will all change, but until then, it is what it is. To me getting 500 people in a crowd creates a far better atmosphere than none and if that 500 can be 1500 to accommodate all the MFC Qld members that would like to get a ticket isn't really that much to ask in the scheme of things. Anyways take care buddy and GO THE MIGHTY DEMONS!!
  19. Apparently 7000 people were allowed to attend the rugby at Suncorp on Friday just gone.
  20. https://www.afl.com.au/news/453826/queensland-crowds-are-go-2000-in-for-gabba-metricon Article states that of the 2000 seats made available, 1850 were provided to Lions members and sponsors etc. 50 were provided to Eagles members and 100 to the general public. So why the bloody hell should the MFC have to go 50/50 in only 500 available seats for our home game against Port - it's rank.
