WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - NATALIE PORTMAN
Welcome to a winning team Demons supporters. Soak it in and I hope the club milks it for everything it is worth as these sort of things are what will help keep us finacial against the mega clubs (until we can become one). I won't be anything like satisfied until we have won that ever elusive flag, but I think we need all need to get use to being one of the good teams again.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - NATALIE PORTMAN
She was awsome in The Professional, though I must admit that it was that movie which solidified my man-crush on Jean Reno.

Welcome to Demonland Toby Bedford
As well as the mustache Has this guy got a backup career in porn movies or what? Nice.

Always a good thing to disappoint supporters of the filth. Would almost be enough reason to draft him for that purpose alone.

Jason Taylor Resume
Hey, I said he was looking a bit old, not that I thought he was about to drop dead anytime soon (although sadly too many of our MFC heros have passed well before their time).

Don't get me wrong, as I do not mean what I'm about to state in a derogatory way at all, but just looking a the photos of JT today, he is starting to look pretty old (no doubts working in that kind of position for the MFC would do that to you). I'm wondering if we are managing a sucession plan for the recruiting team or 'list managing the list managers' so to speak. Really do hope that JT is mentoring a good apprentice loyal to the MFC as it would be more than handy to have someone of his ilk recruiting the next several generations of mighty Demons for the decades to come, not only the next period.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MARTY HORE
Yes, first job for the fitness and conditioning team is to run him through the sheep dip to disinfect him. But as he has only been at their VFL side, the filth is probably not completely engrained just yet.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - TOM SPARROW
Agree. We have relied on Jones for a long time and whilst our reliance on him has diminished, I feel that he has still got in amongst it and made a fair contribution in that area last season. Hopefully these guys could step up and start playing a role in the guts past Jones and who knows when one of Clarry, Harmes, Brayshaw or even Viney might spend a season out with an ACL or something (touch wood).

Welcome to Demonland: James Jordon
It will take some getting use to being in that position again.

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
Meer details. Who watches the cricket anyway, we're crap. Tell them to go play at the Junction Oval.

The Ballad of Maxy Gawn
Pure gold. Love the Coodabeens. "...He's daggy but he is cool, didn't go to no private school..." "...if he wasn't drafted by the Dees he'd still be driving a pizza van..." Maxy is definitely my kind of bloke. Should be more AFL footballers like him.

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
We have an oval already right in the middle of Yarra Park. It's called the MCG. It's our home ground. That's where we should train.

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
I haven't read the article ( probably can't get through the pay wall anyway ), but if Labor are not supporting it, is that actually the same as them opposing it? Or could they still be leaving themselves open to the position of letting normal development appovals process take it's course without ditect state government interference? i.e. are they taking a more neutral position and their lack of support could be read more that they are not proposing to contribute funds towards construction like various governments have for things like Kadinia Park and the Western/Whitten Oval redevelopments?

MFCSS
Did a quick Google search to confirm the abbreviation of the term and this thread from mid 2011 came up. Practically premonish at the time. I guess it was probably Watts being referred to, but it could also somewhat apply to the end result we achieved with Trengove although I'don't say it was more his foot and our medical team's management of it than the player himself being the dud. Personally I managed to get through the bad years with a generally positive attitude having thought we were a sneaky chance of making finals in 2016, being moderately confident that we would beat Collingwood in 2017 and maintaining the faith most of 2018 (that Sydney loss shook me a bit), but still thinking we could knock of at least one of WC or GWS to finally play finals this year. However, strangely I think I may be fighting off a late onset of MFCSS of late. It's not really the Jessy leaving thing (disappointing in a way, but it is and I'm over it for now and getting May does help offset the loss to an extent), but more a feeling that as good as what we have built to this point is looking, there is still so much work to do and thateverything could still fall apart badly from here.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Why would he be happy? Looking at the top photo, looks like he has just got dressed in his new employers uniform and is about to start his shift down at your friendly local supermarket. Bit of a demotion.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KADE KOLODJASHNIJ
Well one of those 3 was when we played GC second time around and we gave them such a shalacking that hardly anyone in the whole GC team got a kick, so KK's underwhelming performance in that game is hardly surprising. Imagine saying that about a MFC game 3 or 4 years ago, how times have changed for the better. Having concussion problems is quite from having depression and motivational problems like Balic, not that he was that much of an issue for the MFC anyway. I think that worked out ok for both parties as it was. We knew what we might have been up for, so only had him contacted for a year, so no huge damage done with things ending as they did. I do have much better expectations for KK though.

Andrew Brayshaw
Sounds like the Josh Mahoney podcast interview has already been recorded. So @Demonland, did you ask Josh how serous the conversation got to including Andrew Brayshaw as part of the Jessie Hogan deal?

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS
Gawn is really a pretty good kick for goal (particularly for a ruckman). There was that absolute numpty of a kick after the siren in Rd 1 and one or two more similar to it in the next few weeks, but after that he tidied up his goal kicking nicely. He kicked a number of great goals in pressure times of the game from 40 - 50m out a number of times during the season and those two checkside/bananas from right out on the boundary against Essendon are ones that not even some forwards and mids kick reliability. Not only did Gawn nail that first on from the boundary against Essendon, but ten minutes later he went back and did it all again to prove it wasn't a fluke. The sledge he gave the Essendon supporter afterwards was pure gold and another 'Max Gawn Classic Moment'!

You mean we have escaped from 'The Twilight Zone!'.

2019 Fixture
If we are playing the sort of footy that puts us in premership contention, I really don't think it matters who we double up on as we should be better than 50/50 against the best sides. It's also a double edge sword in a good way. Every time we play a good side, it's also a chance for us to deny them 4 points as well. In the context of playing Adelaide twice last year, our two victores against them essentially kept them from playing finals.

...because watching the side get smashed in an empty stand was more fun? Hmmm

Just hurry up and release the whole bloody draw, I want to start making some travel plans for 2019. Does anyone know when the AFL are releasing it?
