Well done Kenty! Much better stuff.
-
Goals out of their anus like that better not be a precursor for how they play tonight.
-
No late changes to either side for tonight's game.
-
Thigh slapping stuff.
-
It's certainly better than watching Essendon, Richmond or Carlton playing on a Friday night.

I wouldn't go that far, but he is certainly the flavour of the month. Bruce is salivating any time he goes near the ball. Dane Rampe, on the other hand, is an absolute gem.

To add to my hate for Geelong, it's even worse with Ling commentating. He's already horrible in the commentary box, but his bias for Geelong is so strong you can almost smell it through the television screen. Anyway, carry on.

Jesus I hate Geelong. Even more so when they play at Simonds among their feral fans who boo and whine about every decision.

The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here

I forget that Kent is out of contract this year. Great to hear that he has no intention of leaving, hopefully his contract is sorted out quickly. -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 16

And it was a decision that was made easier by his performance last week. If he had kicked a few and had a good game I think they still would have gone with him this week. Having a shocker instead allowed them to go with a side that will be more suited to the conditions. -
Dodgy decisions both ways at the minute. Hawks getting a good rub but the umpires are giving Port a few cheapies as well. Been a while since I've seen such an over umpired game.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 16

Very true. I can see he and Petracca rotating through that high half forward position with stints in the middle. Both are strong above their head and clever with their possessions. -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 16

I see a big opportunity this week for Gawny to exert some real influence, and our midfield is better. As long as we work hard and get first use then we will be more than okay during the game. You are right about the opportunity for them to rebound, but that's on our midfield and forwards to work harder than them and put some pressure on. We can do it. -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 16

True. His confidence is up at the minute and I'd like to back him in to do better. I can see the ball slipping through to the back of packs and Garlett pouncing on many of these. -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 16

Looking at the Freo backline, they have two pure tall defenders in Dawson and Collins. Outside of that it's mid to small types. When Watts rucks I think we leave Hogan forward and have the mosquito fleet buzzing around at his feet. Once the ball gets slippery it will be difficult to mark, so it's the perfect opportunity to Garlett, Kennedy, Petracca, Harmes, Kent etc to put that pressure on and kick some goals. It's a small gamble, but Hogan just needs to provide a contest and stop Freo from picking off easy marks. I think we're better off, this week at least, playing two talls. -

I think they've also made the right decision by going in with one extra runner - as we all know the ground will be slippery during the game which means the ball will spend more time on the deck. Having that extra runner will come in handy. Big job for Jesse and Jack up forward, though. I hope we can use the ball cleanly and quickly enough to give Jesse the chance at winning a few contests as I have no doubt Freo will flood back and make it a 2 or 3 on 1 on a regular basis. -
Dazzle on the left, myself on the right. I play a mean riff.

He contradicts himself all the time. You can't talk about the players if you haven't played AFL, yet he tells them what they did wrong all the time at training. Strange.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 16

Happy with those changes. White and Grimes certainly deserve their opportunity, while Dawes was poor last week and Bugg has been down on form as of late. I like the fact we are going in a little shorter which I think will suit the conditions a little better as well. -
Careful mate, Saty has just ridden in to remind you that you didn't play AFL, therefore you couldn't know a thing about it... better retract your statement, and fast!

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 16

It's a fair question. Roosy loved Hunt's performance, so I can't see him being 'rested', Jetta is a lock and he won't take a tall backman's spot.. I think. Possibly Tommy Bugg? Billy Stretch gets a rest? -
He wants out - rather than just walking, he asks for a large amount of money which Brisbane won't match, and then he can claim it was a contract stand off that forced him out. If Brisbane cave and give him the money then not only have they called his bluff, but he got far more money than he expected.

With Cross there it may not have given a chance to someone like Hunt. Loved his time at the club, but we made the right decision.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 16
Wiseblood replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Just watched the presser, you've covered it well LH. On Dawes - Roos did say they are unsure at the minute whether they give Dawes another week in the seniors, or do they send him back to Casey (they do have the bye this round). What I got from that was they are still undecided what to do with him this week. Without a proper replacement ready to go, do they drop him and we go small in the greasy conditions, or do they play him and hope he comes good? You would think the changes will be as you mention above, although Grimes and Michie will be around the mark as well going by their games for Casey last weekend. -
It will be an interesting off season to say the least BA. Some big decisions need to be made, both on who they want to recruit and who they want to move on, and it will dictate if we are in the hunt to play finals in 2017. Hibberd is the only player, at the moment, who is a genuine chance of being recruited to the club. I'm not sold on Hurley at all and, while I'm sure we are around the mark for Prestia, I think other clubs like the Tigers will panic and give him an absolute truck load of cash which puts us out of the market. If we were to land Hibberd, and we obviously have an almost new recruit in Melksham, that adds some experience and quality to our back half. What do we do with the talls? The club might stick with what we have. Do they try and offload one of Dunn and Garland and try and get in some more experience to support Tom, Oscar and Frost? Big decisions to be made there. The next 8 weeks will tell us something about it I'm sure. To me, there is no chance we get all three of Hibberd, Hurley and Prestia. There will be too much money being thrown around for us to do that. We'll get one, two if we are unbelievably lucky.
