  1. It's a shame players want the opportunity for an easy flag. I'll leave my club and go to a top team so I can have success, rather than working with the current group to create something special.
  2. Should be banned for this thread. Totally unsubstantiated rumour that was quickly, and rightly, pointed out to be BS. Poor form from the OP.
  3. Wrong. He hadn't played a game since Round 2 of 2014, and had been rehabbing his foot for the entire year becasue of it. When we put him up for trade, and Richmond were keen, it was found that there had been a recurrence of the injury and he would need to spend another year out of the game to get it right. Thus, the trade fell through.
  4. It's alright mate, we know you LOVE him.
  5. While I'm not one of those people who want him traded, to equate being a great aerobic athlete to being a great footballer is just silly. It's a handy attribute but it's no reason to keep someone at your club. If they struggle with the basics then they aren't going to be much of a player.
  6. Thought he was a VERY lucky boy. Expected him to get a week, so it's nice to get a bit of luck this time around.
  7. I thought that may have been the case as it hadn't been picked up by any of the major sites. If he can't crack the side soon though you would assume his days are numbered.
  8. Is it an article on a news site? If you go there, just copy the URL and paste here as a post. Should work fine.
  9. Providing a link to this article would be handy.
  10. It most certainly is Moonie. One of my rare, smart decisions, and it's paid dividends on this site.
  11. True. Can't argue with that. On one hand he might have done it to open up the play a bit and get it away from the congestion, but on the other hand you think that going long down the line in the conditions was always the best option.
  12. Didn't seem to faze the Swans much, although I get what you mean. I just think that, this week, it wasn't a selection failure and more down to the fact that we were beaten by a better side. At no stage was I sitting there going "I wish we had played Grimes, ANB, Harmes etc."
  13. Obvious choices, sure, but we're talking hindsight here. Both may well have come in and been okay but not improved our performance at all. On the flip side they might have made some difference. We just don't know.
  14. Selection failure? Nah. We were just beaten by a better side today who hunted the footy more and used their bigger bodies and experience to run over the top of us. So we drop Dawes for Michie, for example. How do we know Michie doesn't just get 8-10 disposals and have no impact on the match? We've given his type a run before and they haven't exactly set the world on fire. The loss yesterday had nothing to do with selection.
  15. The switch wasn't exactly a great option, I'll give you that, but OMac made a meal of the chest mark though. Both McDonald boys can take the blame on that one.
  16. Just block him. Unless someone quotes him I don't have to read his constant drivel. Makes a thread so much easier to read.
  17. Plenty of time to discuss it and for the club to look at it. Do a few of the kids come out, or will the bye round give them a sufficient rest? Guys like Harmes, Grimes, Matt Jones and Spencer were excellent on the weekend, so do they get a look in?
  18. The last quarter was a disappointment as I was hoping we would crack in and stay in the contest... but we folded a little, which is down to experience. Could have been worse. The first 3 quarters saw us hang with them, even though their intensity was better, and we worked pretty hard in the conditions. Our skills and decision making let us down though and we continue to cough up goals through avoidable mistakes. I was also disappointed that we couldn't get a crack at them in dry conditions. I really thought we would get close to them and even cause an upset. Shame it rained all day, horrible game to watch. Our kids will be alright though and we will continue to learn from the experience. The bye has come at a good time and we can hopefully improve for the Crows game in a fortnight.
  19. There is nothing more certain than seeing Tom, at least once a game, gather the ball and turn his attention to kicking a 30-40m pass to the middle of the ground.... and turning the ball over. Happens without fail.
  20. I reckon the North bloke threw his head back and played for a free kick, Cyril barely got him. Deserved to be pinged for holding the ball.
  21. You make some frustratingly childish comments sometimes. Because I don't gush about Prestia (who I'd be happy to have, we just disagree about him being A grade) and don't like Daw, it means I don't rate anyone not in a Melboure jumper? You're the king of exaggeration and, for someone who seems to have some intelligence, it's disappointing to see you do it.
  22. Chances have nothing to do with it. The bloke is a spud, chances or not.
  23. It stinks how players now instinctively lift their arms to force their opponent to tackle them high. I hope that they stamp that out of the game sooner rather than later.
