  1. Plapp only gets a paragraph - do you want him to talk about how well he ran off for rotations, or how well he pointed at space as well?
  2. Not from the report - it feels as though they are looking for him to back it up again next week before considering him for senior selection.
  3. Great news - reflects what a good year he has had, and he is also excellent cover for us in many areas of the ground. Deceptively mobile, great hands and knows how to rack up the possies around the ground. Really happy he is sticking around for another season!
  4. Possibly, but he's been in the system a long time and hasn't set the world alight on a consistent basis. Right now he wouldn't be in our best 25. If he came for free to add to our depth then go for it, otherwise we have bigger fish to fry.
  5. He can barely get a run with a poor GC side. We have enough medium sized forward type players as it is, we don't need another, especially one who isn't a game changer.
  6. Ah, of course. Sorry, missed that at the start. The four above should certainly be in the squad. Not sure if we can sneak another one in there this year.
  7. Realistically, probably only Hibberd gets the nod on a back flank. He's been unbelievable this year. If I put my red and blue glasses on then I would try and sneak Jetta and Oliver in there as well, but I don't think it will happen. Jetta is one of the best in the game at the moment but there are others who get more of the ball, and therefore more exposure, he will get the nod ahead of him. Doesn't make it right, though.
  8. HUN are running a story tonight that he is on the verge on re-signing with the Saints. I don't think this one is going to happen, not that I really thought he would leave in the first place.
  9. Melksham has been good to very good for a while now. If anything, he was one of the beneficiaries of Bugg's suspension. He has locked down that half forward role really well, almost to the point that there isn't a spot in our 22 for Bugg at the moment.
  10. I totally agree, jnr. He paid his penalty with 6 weeks of no football and, from all reports, he has put his head down and worked extremely hard on the track for each of those weeks he missed. I still think he'll make his way back through Casey, but I'd happily welcome him back into the side if he was picked.
  11. Jack Trengove. Max Gawn Jayden Hunt Sam Frost Mitch Hannan Jeff Garlett
  12. Absolutely mate! I must admit though that I'm as restrained as I can be - they have had the wood over us for a long time and her family has been pretty good about it, so I don't go too over the top. I did watch the highlights with my daughter a few times and we had a few fist bumps and 'Go Dees' being said, so I'm pretty happy with that!
  13. Absolutely. They will be no pushovers, that's for sure. They smashed both Carlton and GC, although both clubs are in struggle town. We need to pick our best side, no point in resting players now. With finals not assured we can't afford to become complacent.
  14. Jackaub posts absolute rubbish. I've got him on ignore, never contributes anything worthwhile - the post you quoted is proof of that. As for changes, I'd be interested to see if they bring Bugg back in or he has a crack at it back at Casey. Weideman didn't set the world alight, but do they bring Watts back straight away? I want us to play our strongest side possible. Brisbane will be a challenge for us, even at the G. Their midfield is on fire at the moment and they can cause a few problems if we aren't on top of our game.
  15. I can't argue that his impact on the game wasn't minimal, as it was exactly that. If Watts was playing with the required intensity then he doesn't play - but he's obviously been doing what is asked of him at VFL level and was given an opportunity. Thankfully, no harm done. I think the appraisal is down to him being a young kid - if he was 24/25 and in the system for a while, would he feel as though he could be a little more harsh about his performance? Weideman has struggled at AFL level this year and getting harsh words, in public, from Goodwin would do no one any good. He needs to build up his confidence at this stage of his career as much as he can.
  16. If he was 4 years in, then it's a valid discussion. The kid is barely 2 years into his career - no doubt he is struggling at AFL level, but some of these players take time, not to mention one that came off a full year of injuries in his final TAC Cup season. Give him some time. He deserves it. Plus, he didn't ask for someone like Watts to drop the ball. He was given a chance because others weren't taking theirs.
  17. Goodnight? Feels like your night is just getting started, Greg.
  18. He still needs to do a little more though, coach. His role may well have been to bring the ball to ground and provide a contest, but he also needs to make more of those contests and hit the scoreboard with more regularity. If we lost today, then Goodwin would have been criticised for picking Weid. As it stands it doesn't look as bad as we bagged the four points. I'm looking forward to him putting in another big pre-season as, clearly, he still isn't totally ready for AFL football.
  19. Not only that, Port laid only 2 tackles for the entire quarter. Total fair weather footballers.
  20. At the moment I can't help but agree. Having said that, I think that's more out of the fact that he has missed so much footy and we've had to adapt to playing without him. I'd rather him in the side than out (he would offer more than Weideman).
