  1. I could reply with the same gif re: those who would consider trading him.
  2. Don't forget your question marks. And I see you don't have a replacement for him. Cheers.
  3. Is he? Who can replace him with? Where do we get the 47 goals from? I look forward to this answer.
  4. Spot on. I can recall at least three goals he set up - the clever chip kick to AVB, the quick handpass over the top the ended with the Petracca goal and then the handpass to Jones for a goal in the third term. He gets to the right positions and makes smart decisions with the ball in hand. Goodwin would love what he's bringing to the side right now and, as you say, he won't be dropped.
  5. Apparently it isn't as important as squeezing in a bloke who has kicked 2 goals in 2 games. (And, for the record, I've loved Weid's output in the last two games.)
  6. Me either. I would have liked him at the club, but if someone like North are offering godfather type money, then we need to step away and either look elsewhere or continue to back in others to improve.
  7. Nothing emotional in it my friend. Just the facts.
  8. If the thread was entitled 'Hogan's best position going forward' then I'd agree. But when the coach shoots down any chance of him being traded then what's the point of discussing it? Should we start a thread on every player and get some discussion going on how we might trade them as well? He was never going to be traded and, unless he wants out, the club will never consider it.
  9. Good. Let him take us easy. Let's see how that pans out for him when Melksham kicks his fourth early in the last to put the game beyond reach.
  10. I wouldn't call them emotional outragists, Moonie. I'd just call them posters who see what Jesse brings to the team and how good the 1-2 punch of T Mac and Hogan could be for years and years to come. I'll add that, if he gave the club some indication that he wants to go back home, then I'd expect the club to follow up on a suitable trade to get that done. But if he doesn't then I'd suggest the club would not be looking at doing anything with him other than getting him fit and ready to fire in 2019.
  11. There's a few like that. Olisik and Mr. White are others that come to mind.
  12. If there were another 5 games left of the H&A season then he might have made the squad. The same could be said of James Harmes, Nev Jetta and Tom McDonald. All have had terrific seasons but I understand their omission as well.
  13. As someone who had basically lost interest in the season just a few weeks ago, it's good to see you back and fired up, Jaded. And I echo your sentiments - smashing those arrogant bastards in two weeks time would be so, so good!
  14. I need to listen to myself more often.
  15. He is our leading goal kicker and we were still the highest scoring side in the comp with him in it. Anyway, I don't know why we're worried about where Hogan plays right now. We should be focused on finals and enjoying that.
  16. LH - the article referred to an email he sent on Monday night after the Eagles game. Jack Viney said it was a serious email and that he made the comment that we aren't in this business to make finals, we're in it to win them. He just reminded the players how important this week is (which showed today) and how the right approach and preparation can set us up properly come finals time.
  17. I think Spargo is underrated a little round these parts. He had a hand in a number of goals today with his crumbing work. As others have stated, with Kent and Tyson both going out, there is no chance that Spargo doesn't play.
  18. Roosy summed it best during the week when he compared him to Jarrad McVeigh in his prime. He can be a general across half back for us for years to come.
  19. They believe he has a small fracture in his hand/wrist. No idea how long it will keep him out, or if it will actually keep him out, just yet.
  20. Extremely encouraging signs from those three. AVB is a strong, clever player who brings some real toughness to the side. Frosty has been sensational and his run and carry, while also beating his opponent, has been a treat to watch. And it's great to see Weideman growing in confidence with each passing week. Watching him clunk those marks, provide a tough contest when in the ruck and then slot a last quarter goal was awesome.
  21. What a win. The injuries weren't ideal but after the first 15 minutes we smashed them off the park. Everything about this game screamed that we are finals ready. The contested ball, the defence, the class, the synergy... it was beautiful to watch. We had winners all over the ground. Maxy dominated again and should go close in the Brownlow. Our young midfield - Oliver, Gus and Harmes in particular - are sensational. Harmes has had a brilliant second half to the season and he beat Kelly and won plenty of the ball himself. Our defence was excellent. Frost was terrific and our older heads in Jetta, Hibberd and Lewis marshalled the troops superbly. It took time but our back half is working so well now with Lever not there. Melky and T Mac were great up forward and Trac provides the X-factor. Little Spargo, while he still makes mistakes, had a hand in a number of goals with class plays that put his tremendous footy IQ on display. I can't wait to take on the Cats in a fortnights time. We are a better side than them and I'd love nothing more than to pull their pants down and send them back down the highway. DEMONS!
  22. If we can get through today with a good performance and no injuries then I'll be a happy man!
