Gday Guys Just a question to those who attend the Presidents lunch. I've never attended before but have been invited this week through a mate. I've been told to dress smart casual with a collar. I don't like to get to dressed up at the footy so just wondering If jeans and a polo shirt is acceptable? Also what can I excpect on the day? Cheers

Well said! Yes Cale Is an outside runner with a fantastic tank and great skills but just becuase he an outside style player doesnt mean he's exempt from chasing and laying tackles. Needs to work on this side of his game and he'll turn out just fine. I still get a little confused as to what sort of player he'll end up being, he's bloody tall for a running player yet bloody light for a KP type. Looking forward to watching him develop!

For some reason I'm sensing a Jack Watts breakout game this week. I've been a bit hard on young Jack but I've just got a bit of a feeling after a lift In intensity from him last week.
-
Yeah pull it out Brad

It's hard to tackle people inside your fifty when you cant get it in there to start with but yes I agree It is laughable. We just look like a team that has no idea whats going on. We constantly crap ourselves when we get the ball and turn it over. We're a team with no structure, no heart, no intensity, no pressure... How can we have quarters of football like the Hawks 3rd qtr and the Brisbane 1st qtr, West Coast 1st qtr. I mean cmon Brisbane and West Coast were bottom 4 last year and they embarrassed us.
-
Well we did loose to West Coast at the G last year and nearly rolled Collingwood. In a few weeks we have Ess, Carl and Coll on the trot! All prime time games and everybody will be watching us. Hopefully we've found a bit of form by then.
-
That's all I was trying to say. A bigger bodied aggressive type would compliment Watts and Jurrah. Yes I'm sure Cook will be ok but I just question is it what we need. Anyway its getting a bit off topic so before I get told I have no idea and to get a life I'll stop.
-
Yeah I do have a fair idea what I'm talking about mate. I've played enough senior football and watched enough football to at least have an opinion. If you actually read my post properly I'm not attacking Watts or Cook I'm questioning our recruiters decisions to draft two of the same type of player. Obviously time will tell wont It. Also screaming at somebody to get a life on here doesn't make you a big man It just makes you look like a immature fool.
-
I'm not sure that Jack will make It or not and although I'm happy to give him more time I just don't like what I'm seeing at the moment. What I think will be the bigger mistake will be the drafting of Lucas Cook. I'm not sure why BP decided we needed a player like Cook. He's another lead up forward who gathers possessions much like Watts. IMO opinion we should have drafted Jack Darling who's strong and attacks the ball on the ground and in the air. I just fear we have to many athletes and not enough footballers
-
I'd rather a player that has a mean streak about them and puts fear into the opposition than what we're getting at the moment.
-
Yep as our midfield develops the delivery to our forwards will become better and more regular. It will make players like Jurrah look so much better.
-
Cant wait for Jordie Mac to return, very underrated player in my opinion. Obviously will be good to add Scully's run and pace. Both of these guys are walk up starts In our best 22 so who will get the chop when they're ready?
-
I've been to the last two open training sessions at aami and jack viney has been training with the senior side.

For somebody who's meant to be so quick and agile he looks very slow and awkward. In the 3 games he's played this year i don't see any improvement from last season, he should go back to Casey, kick a few goals get more of the footy and earn a spot. At the moment he's getting a game because his names Jack Watts and he was the number 1 pick. I'm all for getting games into the kids but they have to be contributing.
-
Hard to see Chip not playing given Warnock played last night for Casey. Unless they plan to use Stef Martin down back? Just have to wait and see. Rumor Is Hodge or Sewell didn't come up..

Good win by the Scorps. Players that stood out to me:- Jordan Gysberts - Got a heap of the ball, could get a call up next week. Michael Evans - Got better as the game went on, looks like a player. Tom McDonald - Love him! Needs to work on his kicking but reads it so well, great mark, moves well. Will get a call up this year, I'm tipping. Max Gawn - Getting better every time I see him, took some nice contested grabs, good ruck work but will need time. Aussie - Played a real good game, moved into the midfield In the 2nd half and made a big influence. Kelvin Lawrence - Was flashy but a bit wasteful, could have kicked 3 or 4 but missed a few opportunities. Bright pink boots! They were my best for Casey. I know a few will ask about Sam Blease - My opinion on Bleasey is that he always does 3 or 4 great things during a game. He goes on a long run or a great chase or kicks a long running goal from 50 but apart from that you don't see him much. Needs to work on finding more of the ball which I'm sure he will as hes still young and hasnt played a heap of footy. Definitely has a bright future.

Just read this on Twitter Garry Lyon has just revealed on Triple M Footy that under the pump young gun Tom Scully is being mentored by Shane Crawford. Good news considering Crawf was vocal that he thought Scully should stay. Crawf also received some big offers to switch clubs.
-
I didnt get to see It today. Any chance somebody could give a run down of the Q&A?
-
Compared to any other Casey player on the day he was a standout...
-
I was at the game. Casey played Sandy In a practice match on Sat and yes Aussie was a standout. His tackling and pressure was great and he managed to snag 4 goals. Apart from that there wasnt many standouts as Casey got flogged. Other players to play were Cook, Blease, Mcdonald and Spencer, none of them did much.
-
Just incase anyone missed It Jack Watts Is 19 years old.
-
Freo's logo Is the old one also.
-
Happy to give him time. I dont see why he should be a lock for round 1 though? Just because he was a number 1 pick? If we could have that draft over again Id take Hurley In a second. We'll see how It pans out!

I've been watching a few replays from last year and he's def going to be missed. Such a good clearance player and such quick hands.
