In a two or three years the midfield will look more like Scully, Trengove, Grimes, Gysberts, Viney, Mckenzie and the likes of Moloney and Jones will become depth players. Much like the Pies this year when you had a few younger boys step up and blokes like Lockyer couldn't get a game.

comment from the HS Velocity Sports has previously stated that Scully's contract negotiations with the Demons would be deferred to seasons end so that Scully could "direct all his energies to the 2011 season". Velocity Sports also indicated that finalisation of the AFL's new TV rights was a consideration. Surely if those issues are relevant to Scully's future, they are also relevant to Gysberts'future and the futures of other AFL players in their stable. There is a strange odour in the fact that Velocity Sports are having ongoing negotiations about Gysberts'contract but are deferring discussions with Melbourne over Scully's future. Either Gysberts' welfare (and that of other AFL players in the VS stable) aren't as important as Scully's, or Velocity Sports are telling a few porkies about where things are at between Scully and GWS.

If this was based on talent alone It would be a perfect signing. Watts and Cook could develop while Fev takes the best defender, Jurrah could play the 3rd or even 4th tall. Unfortunately he has far to many issues and this shouldn't even be looked at.

After GWS sign their uncontracted players at the end of the season then rape the draft they will be round the mark. Not to mention they they get to sign 16 uncontracted players next year also and have already had access to the best 17 year olds. I went to training on Friday. Blease suffered a pretty bad cork and was limping round for a bit, he was trying to run it off but ended getting a rub down, Not sure If he came back out to train or not. Scully didn't train at all, just did some handball drills on the sideline so not sure he'll play either. Trengove, Mckenzie were In the rehab group. Petterd did the entire session which was good to see, as did Gysbets and my smoky to FINALLY get a gig this week Is Tapscott who also did the entire session and moved very well.

Had morning tea at aami park cafe today as I was working there for the day. Saw a few of the boys having something to eat. Scully and Rob Campbell were sitting away from everyone having what looked to be a serious talk. They were chatting for at least a half hour. Would love to be a fly on the wall.

I've been to at least 6 or 7 training session this pre season and Dunn hasnt once been in the mids group. I've only seen him with the forwards, pretty sure he'll be playing forward.

Looks like he's fit in well, looks clean with his ball use and seems to present well. Bit hard to tell yet, hopefully he gets a crack in the NAB Cup.

Totally forgot but did anyone else see Joel Mac attempt mark of the year during the game they were playing? I thought he was going to brake his neck!

He was involved with a few drills then went and did his own thing. He looked as fit as ever. I'd say he's just watching his work load.
