The List Manager Tim Lamb
Its pick 26 (27 now) that we already own & the Spargo compo (I believe end of 2nd round) & Mcvee for 12. Not May the player, but what ever return we get from trading him out. + Clarry and F3 for 13. Also, like I said, we can swap later picks and whatnot to smooth these over if required. this was just a hypothetical starting point. Finally, I rate Judd highly, people here have short memories. He was really good in 2024 as a 20/21 year old. He is a significant loss IMO.

The List Manager Tim Lamb
As much as it hurts to let our favorite flag heroes go, this could be our chance to set ourselves up for the long term without spending 3-5 years of gathering top end picks at the bottom of the ladder. Langford, Windsor, Koz, XL, Bowey, JVR, Riv, Culley, Luker, Kolt, Disco is a solid group of young players. Add Humphrey and 2-3 more young guns to that group (before Tassie comes in) and we would have more than enough to get this list looking very promising. We also need to bring in this young talent whilst we have a good chunk of leaders and senior role models for them to learn off. We can’t afford to end up like we did in late 2000’s or how North has been for the last 7 years! Gawny, Lever, Viney, Mcdonald, Melky, Langdon, Mihocek, Salem, Fritsch, Sparrow, Chandler & Petty is a solid group of senior leaders across all lines that can usher in the new wave. I don’t personally see all of them as best 22, but most have something to offer us due to their experience. To bring these youngsters in we need to say goodbye to some value/stalwarts; May is not only almost finished as a player, but I don’t really believe he is no good for our culture moving forward. Tmac offers more both on field and as a leader and role model for youngsters. So overall, I don’t think his departure hursts us at all. Thank you for the epic 4-5 Seasons Maysie, but it’s time to move on. Get whatever we can for him. After last year’s tantrum and this year’s request to bail on us, I think it’s best if we let Trac go and get the best we can for him. Can’t say I am happy about it, nor am I happy at how he has acted the past 18 months, but he has value so let’s cash in while we still can. Clarry I would be happy to hold onto, but it sounds like Kingy has a plan and he isn’t part of it. It will be super hard to see him line up for another club, but a fresh start is probably needed for both parties and there is no denying he has had a bigger part in our recent dramas than most. The one that really hurts IMO is Judd, I saw him as a long-term top 10 player for us and I’m frankly [censored] that he has bailed on us after we took the chance on him as a rookie when no one else did. Here is my dream scenario (more picks can be swapped back and forth to smooth these over, but this is the gist of what I want) Trac & F1 for Humphrey and pick 6 26, Spargo Compo and Mcvee for 12 (Freo) Clarry (and contract), May pick & F3 for pick 13 (GWS) Total result for Dees 2026: Out: Trac, Clarry, May, Mcvee, F1, F3 & Pick 26.(big contracts and a few late picks) In: Humphrey, picks 6, 12, 13. Mihocek, Sinema, Kalani. (Money to spend moving forward) If you told me 12 months ago, we would lose Clarry, Trac, May and Mcvee I would have said close the bloody doors! But if we manage to pull off something like the above it would certainly give me some excitement and optimism for the future. This may all be a pipe dream, but it was fun to hypothesize.

Bailey Humphrey
Getting Humphrey to the Dees has 3 boxes we need to tick off. 1. Trac commits to GC (Tick) 2. Humphrey commits to Dees (Pending) 3. Negotiating with GC on the trade details. (Pending) Stage 1 is locked in, if stage 2 happens (The hardest part IMO) I believe stage 3 will be straight forward. We just really need to do whatever we can to convince Bailey we are the place for him to thrive / get paid! 🤣

One of them is probably Dimma.

Bailey Humphrey
Yeah that's true from the GC side of things, not from Baileys. We need him to pick us before anything else matters. Fingers crossed!

Bailey Humphrey
I hope so. Because that's all we have over the other 3 clubs sadly.

Bailey Humphrey
Finally some trade goss involving us that's exciting! Bit over the doom and gloom Dees news of the last few off seasons.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
If its GWS then pick 12 is a start but not enough. We should reach out to Darcy Jones, we are short on pacey small forwards and the kids a little ripper.

"I hope this doesn't sound like sour grapes" - Chris Scott
Scott bringing up the sub rule is just a super unsubtle excuse. But he is right, the sub rule sucks! Scrap it ASAP!

- Farewell Judd McVee
Juddy is a gun! the fact people downplaying his ability based on his 2025 form is mind-blowing. Yes, he had a down season, but so did 95% of the list and he had multiple injuries issues through the year. His highlights form 2024 are super impressive, looks like a top end pick and was only 20yo. He will absolute flourish in the knew aggressive game style that King has described. Also, I don't blame him wanting to know who is leading the club before he commits.- Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
This is true, but its also about the run and carry and general aggressive flow we can get going. Kicks don't need to be as pin point accurate when the player you kicking to has free air to work with and space to get off there man.- Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
The description of how he wants to play is super encouraging. Riskier and fast ball movement from the back half allowing our forwards to play with space! Early days, but we may be watchable again!- Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
Will do 😜- Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
Welcome & good luck Kingy! I don't understand peoples obsession with wanting a experienced coach. Pretty sure only 1 coach (Malthouse) has one a flag at there second club in the past 20 years. I am also a curious why people were so sold on Bucks... I have nothing against him, but its not like he's a Paul Roos or Al Clarkson.- Farewell Charlie Spargo
It's a mistake to let him go IMO. Our smalls fwds stocks a really bad and even worse now.- 2025 Keith "Bluey" Truscott Trophy
Nearly all of those stats are him chipping the ball side to side having little influence. Modern football requires half backs to be a big part of scoring chains. Salem isn't in the top 250 players in this metric. He is also ranked 393rd for meters gain per disposal showing just how passive he has become. He is ranked 202nd for defensive pressure acts and is outside the top 300 for spoils so he isn't really a defensive type either. You have to be one or the other, at the moment he is neither. With his skillset and experience he should be having far more impact on the game. To me, the fact he was rated so highly internally illustrates just how much we as a club have no idea when it comes to offense/ damaging ball movement and are focused on the wrong aspects of modern footy.- Selwyn Griffiths
He probably shouldn't be saying this in public.....But what he is saying is completely accurate. Our fitness has been declining steadily since Selwyn took over.... We need a replacement ASAP.- Trade Targets
I agree that we shouldn't risk it with Hollands as we cannot risk more off field distractions and negativity around us at the moment. But people shouldn't discount his talent. He would have been a top tier player had things gone a bit different for him. Pretty sure he was viewed as a potential number 1 pick in his TAC days. Hope the kid gets the help he needs and makes a comeback.- CASEY: Elimination Final vs Williamstown
Loving the agro and tackling pressure. Kolt looking good in the middle again. Howes Culley and kolt should be mainstays in the 1s in 2026.- CASEY: Elimination Final vs Williamstown
Spargo is dominating. We should be holding onto him IMO.- Trade Targets
I don't think we should judge a players value/ability from one game to be fair. Averages 25 disposals in the VFL and he has shown he can contribute and has poise at AFL level. I am personally surprised he isn't a regular in there 22 a I feel his ceiling is much higher than a few that are ahead of him. As for the Cost. Getting the player to request the trade is the first/hard part. Destination clubs like Geelong worry about getting the players attention first and the cost second. Just look at the Bailey Smith trade. They knew they only had pick 17 but pushed for it anyway and ended up with a steal. Pies didn't have a first rounder last year and still ended up with Houston. Clubs can find a way if there ruthless and aggressive about player acquisition. Even if we don't manage to land if this year we will be in a good position to try again next year when he is out of contract.- Trade Targets
We should be going hard at Mckenzie. Class player and would be a great addition to Harvey, Lindsey, WIndsor, Riv and Koz for our future midfield. Currently playing in the 2's even with WIll Day out. Josh Ward seems to have locked in the spot that they were both fighting for and no-one is aging our of that midfield anytime soon. Hustwaite is another of there depth mids I would be keen on chasing.- The Greatest Demon of All Time?
Barassi and Flower were before my time, and a few years back I was certain it was going to be Oliver with Trac a solid chance too. But Max has just grinded away year after year and just continues to be the most inspirational and powerful presence I have seen at the club. He will be in the Hall of Fame as soon as he is eligible and have Legend status at some point too. IMV Gawny is now the undisputed king of MFC. - Farewell Judd McVee
