  1. I think they're going down on the same plane @Whispering_Jack ?
  2. The dogs really aren't that good when the blow torch is applied
  3. Probably worthy of it's own thread. Who is replacing Burgess. We need that person recruited sooner than later to get a decent handover from him.
  4. We need sustained success to really bring the bigger crowds. If you look at Jones' win loss ratio as an example, we can't really expect large crowds and membership until we're consistently winning year in year out. It is happening now and it will be all that much sweeter for those that have endured supporting this club for the past 15 years or more.
  5. I'm 54 years old now and I don't think I've seen a Melbourne team play like they did last night. I'm still a little stunned. So good to see so much joy on this forum. So good to see the team do it for chunk and to hear him acknowledge the long suffering fans for sticking with this club. How good was it to watch Gawn sprinting through the centre as a midfielder taking handball receives. Ruckmen don't do that but our captain does. How good was it to watch Petracca reach a new level in the third. Complete beast mode. It reminded me of watching Carey turn a game through sheer will and power. He's turning into one of a small number of elite players that can change the course of a game by himself. How good is it to see Tommy Mac back to his best. The last year and a half must have been quite horrible for him. How good is our backline. Steven May just even making the match after that injury. Salem's calmness and class. ANBs goal from fifty metres. Spargos mad tackling Lever's intercepts Jackson's growth Hunt and Langdon's afterburner runs. I'm going to sit back and watch the replay. Enjoy the day everyone and enjoy this bloody fantastic team. Go Dees
  6. I watched that grub Nankervis tackle Viney around the head. Then as the whistle was blown for a ball up he reached across and pinched Viney on the arm as he got up off the ground. Yeah, you just go ahead and make Viney angrier mate. Five minutes later, Viney gets tackled by Nankervis from behind and Jack just lifts the big bastard up and throws him over his head. Smart move Tobes. That scuffle at the end was just icing on the cake. We are a tough ruthless gut running and tackling machine.
  7. First holding the ball decision I've seen where Fritta had the ball in his but cheeks
  8. What a captain
  9. Totally. But Edwards is such a fair player
  10. [censored] bullet! What a cracker
  11. How is that a push in the back to Fritta
  12. Get Chunk to go and clobber him
  13. Brayshaw jogging
  14. I can't remember being this pumped for a Dee's fixture ever. Geez I hope we smash them and Stamp ourselves on this comp. It's time
  15. I hope a Convincing win makes up for it
  16. So many games on the big stage that the club should have won and we folded. Apart from being smashed in two Grand finals, the saddest loss for me was being spanked by the lions (I think) after Jimmy's passing. I just felt so gutted that we didn't turn up for the bloke. After 54 years of supporting this club, I want them to play solely tonight for Nathan Jones. To lift themselves to a new level and play relentlessly hard football for four quarters. Please let this be the year we transform back into a ruthless football club.
  17. I've just switched on to watch the 3rd quarter. I've seen more exciting Auskick games.
  18. Oh I agree. It's just if we have too many "finishers" - Weed, BB, Melksham and Tmac to some extent, it leaves the tackling pressure to just a few up forward. We've got to strike a balance and everyone has to chase and tackle.
  19. I think Ben Brown has one of the lowest tackle counts in the league too. Interesting.
  20. Tmac talked about making space for each other and forward pressure as being really important for them this year in his post match interview. Hopefully they can execute again this week.
  21. Yes, it was so good. I wrote a letter to Pert after that debacle stating I wouldn't renew my membership until the club did something about on field performance. Great to see the president call it out publicly. Great to see us (and our women's team) playing great footy.
  22. A lovely article by Titus. There were some really dark days indeed. It was bad enough being a supporter. Imagine being Jonsey
  23. He got a free on the weekend while copping a knee into his head on the bottom of a pack. Had a chuckle to myself that it's probably well over 300 knees and elbows that shiney noggin has copped. An incredibly tough and resilient human being both physically and mentally. Can't wait for Saturday
  24. Just has to avoid Lynch's accidental elbows
