CASEY DEMONS: Rd 11 vs Essendon
Really nice summary @binman. I thought Kye Declase had a pretty good game as well. Weids really put in some effort but those hands just aren't holding the footy. I used to be up in Brisbane for quite a few years and was a Lions member for a couple of years during their premiership run (please forgive me, they were my second team and it was a joy to watch blokes like Voss play footy). Alastair Lynch seemed to have a similar problem and me and my mate used to call him rubber chest / iron hands. For about two years he couldn't seem to take a mark. He went away to battle CFS but I'm pretty sure during that time had his eyes checked and came back with contact lenses and his marking was transformed. Just wondering if it really is confidence with Weid because he spills them at VFL level too. Also wondered if Selwood had been over training those Essendon players? So many of them just kept dropping knees and lifting arms to try and pull a free. It was good to see the umps didn't get sucked in much by it. We've got some great depth and it's fantastic to see the senior blokes like Jones, Jetta and Melksham really putting in and showing leadership for the younger ones.

POSTGAME: Rd 15 vs Essendon
Yep, I think they were. I'm also getting concerned about how many times our captain gets punched in the back of the head due to faux spoils. He was down on all fours after copping another one on Saturday night. It happens every game without the whistle ever being blown. It can't be healthy for him.

POSTGAME: Rd 15 vs Essendon
I watched three blatant pushes in the back to our players in the last quarter which weren't paid to us. I didn't think the umps were too bad on the whole either. It was great to see the deliberate rule not paid like it has all season as well. #essenflogs

POSTGAME: Rd 15 vs Essendon
He's been down a bit the last few weeks and I thought he played a cracking game last night. Considering how poorly we'd marked in the forward line all night, I reckon it was the right decision to soak up time and try and ice the game.

He's having a cracker. Brayshaw seems to be missing. Who shut Merrett down?

I've seen this game before. Our poor entries and goal kicking will lose us this game

The club should put a highlight reel together of Gawn being punched in the back of the head week in week out with no frees paid

Stringer seemed to be the stand out last week. Shut him down and we're half way there.

NON MFC: Rd 15 2021
Yep, it would essentially be like having to play an extra final at the cattery in round 23.

I'm the same, go Lions. We need to beat the bummers and stop relying on other results Masters of our own destiny. We can then sit back and watch the mad scramble below us.

Spirit of the Game
Good article in the Guardian today about the super grubs Sellwood and Greene. Their intention was to injure another player, why weren't they suspended? Comments section is an interesting read as well apart from the [censored] Geelong supporters and the one GWS supporter. (There is only one right?) https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2021/jun/21/joel-selwood-and-toby-greenes-actions-antithetical-to-afl-principles#comments
