NON-MFC: Rd 04 2023
Evidently according to my Brisbane friends, Joe chose "Let it go" from frozen because he sings it as Let it Joe. I find the songs and clips of the footballers doing a little dance to their song all a bit cringeworthy. But hey, I'm just not into crowd activation I guess. I'd rather have a conversation with the people I'm with rather than having to shout at them after a goal.

Welcome to Demonland: James Jordon
I totally agree. Both Harmes and Melksham really shouldn't be getting selected ahead of the likes off JJ. Now's the time to be giving the younger ones games.

TRAINING: Tuesday 4th April, 2023.
Sad to see Hibbo struggling. The last two weeks he looked really fired up

POSTGAME: Rd 03 vs Sydney
I loved the changes the coaching group made this week and swinging Petty forward. It's a great sign of being more flexible with our team. JVR, so excited for him after he's competed so hard last year. And Kade Chandler, another kid that's battled hard in the two's and seems to have cemented his place now. JJ and Hibbo were fantastic as well. Clarry, is he the best we've ever seen? I'm thinking he might be. I've never seen a player stand the mark and just steal the ball from his opponent like he did and set up that goal for Fritsch. 4 mins to go in the 3rd QTR. I watched it about five times. Straight kicking made a huge difference early on today. Such a turn around from last week. If we're a team based on process, let's keep swinging the changes as required to manage some of our players through. What a beautiful game to watch today

GAMEDAY: Rd 03 vs Sydney
As a couple have mentioned, it will all come down to pressure. We applied none last week. Will we adjust our game to put some contact on them or let them run loose? We'll know by the end of the first QTR if we're switched on, running hard (both ways) and harassing every swans player out there.

Funny ol game. You'd be swabbing all 3 teams if they were horses

There's a bit more pressure upfield too. The ball was coming in on a platter last week.

Full forwards are pushing hard both hands in the back now. Crazy how it's a rule sometimes …

Rooey's Debut!!!
He just seems very "Schwartzy" the way he goes about things. He could be a huge building block for our forward line once he gets some games under his belt. Very bloody exciting. Go Rooey!

PREGAME: Rd 03 vs Sydney
I thought JJ and Hibberd we're the stand outs last weekend at Casey. JVR just consistently contests, marks and makes the second efforts at ground level. He does a fair bit of ruckwork up forward. BBB and Friita aren't great at defensive pressure and TMAC was moving like a prawn trawler on Friday night. We gotta give the kid a go and rest TMAC. Melksham and Harmes we're both pretty putrid on Friday too. I doubt Goody will swing three or four changes. But he should. Tommo will be stiff to miss considering how little Hipwood did and how fast and hard the ball was coming in.

I think you've got to give Brisbane more credit. Their defensive pressure was excellent. They pushed us wide to kick long down the wings for a lot of the night. Made me twitch watching us revert to 2022 tactics. If we do the same early on against the Swans, I'll be curling up in a ball. Yes it was slippery and it was hot, but they should be super fit and be able to run hard. Most of the players looked incredibly flat and were letting their opponents run freely into space.

PODCAST: Selwyn Griffith Interview
I'd like to know his thoughts on nutrition. There's been a few different diets with players over the years How does it affect someone like BBB who is coeliac and vegan vs TMAC who eats a whole beast every week. What's his thoughts on players drinking alcohol, caffeine or junk food etc during the season. Do they monitor diets as part of players performance? Some good questions in this thread up above.

PREGAME: Rd 03 vs Sydney
There's been a lot of focus on Gawn's injury but watching TMac at the game on Friday. He looked so slow and proppy. Can we afford to rest him? Can we afford to risk playing him? I'm not confident at all that he's anywhere near fit. I wonder if he's going to come good at all this season. He's pretty vital to our campaign as well
