Our kick out strategy
I think there's some valid point raised above about playing the percentages but geez it's one dimensional and totally predictable. Watching the cats pull us apart on Thursday was really worrying. We seem to just play down the line as compared to their switching and corridor use. IMO it's got little to do with a narrow field and a lot to do with our failure to adapt to where we are getting well and truly beaten. We would have been thrashed if the cats weren't so poor with their field and goal kicking. Tmac is out, Gawn and LJ are not fit, you gotta adjust your game plan and also counter where the opposition is beating you in the first half. Why didn't we counter their spread?

NON-MFC: Round 17, 2022
That was everything that is so frustrating about inconsistencies in umpiring all wrapped up in five seconds of football. Just garbage

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs Geelong
We knew it was narrow and even the commentators knew at the start that Geelong would switch it and use the corridor. I'm grinding my teeth every time we leave them loose on the far side and then we just kick down the line. It's so stupid and predictable and yet we have not adjusted. The cats are not playing that well, they're just using the ground so much better.

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs Geelong
We're far below our best and still right in this. Cats will look to switch or use the centre corridor around eighty percent of the time and we need to counter this as a priority! We've got this if we block the switch and tighten our skills. One of Tracc or Clarry need to cut loose in the second half for us to step up. C'mon Dees, bury them, they'll get tired.

Yeah that Brayshaw free for dragging it in was crap and right in front of goal. Replay showed an Adelaide player toeing the ball back in under Brayshaw as he was jumped on by other Crows. They showed the replay and I think it was Dunstall who paid a compliment to one of the Crows tacklers for his "skillful appeal to win a free in front of goals" wtf I'm all for putting the whistle away but then you get stupid 50 / 50 frees paid directly in front. The whole night consisted of Crows players getting tackled when they clearly had time to dispose of the ball and decided to go to ground or just drop it. Our typical pressure game was not rewarded. For those who say, just accept it, we won anyway. We shouldn't have to. This amateur standard in a professional game has already cost us a game at Adelaide oval and just wait for next week when the opposition is more competitive at another hostile ground.

POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Adelaide
I wonder if Fogartys punch on Lever or Clarry copping a forearm to the head will get cited ahead of Kozzys legitimate shoulder and arm into the ribs of a crow player early in the game.
