MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 20

that's like being a guitarist and only playing the guitar once a week when you're on stage in front of a big crowd. yes it's different for sure on match day. but you play that instrument every day until you don't even have to think about it. there's a great saying I heard from a jazz musician once. don't practice for a day.. you'll know it. don't practice for two days.. the band knows it don't practice for three days.. the whole world knows it. I reckon sport is no different. preparation is everything.

neither does Watts while he's rucking. time to leave Watts forward and rotate the two rucks with Gawn moving forward at times. Oliver could come in too if someone doesn't recover.

Kent got cleaned up after kicking the ball in to our 50 as well in the last. should have been down field free. we blew it in the 3rd with our kicking. the umps put us to the sword in the last. we played some breathtaking footy today at times and really applied some fantastic pressure for most of the game. it was a great game of footy. fmd

it makes sense to get some games into Spencer. if Gawn was to get injured in the early part of next season, you'd want spencil ready to go. -

we could have 4 super fast cumbers surrounding Dawesy in a 360 degree formation ready for any mark that may be spilt. I call it the diamond offence! -
Jack Watts signs for three years (21/7/16)

The journey of our club and Jack Watts are perfectly aligned. onwards and upwards. just a great story of persistence. well done Jack -
Not many people mentioned Kent in this thread but I think he took another big step forward in that game. we'really pulling together a really potent forward line.

I like them too. wish we were at longer odds -
but Dawes is sooooooo good at bringing the ball to ground. even with chest marks.
-
why do we bother with Dawes?
-
I thought Jetta played pretty well. he's taken a couple of huge hits the last two weeks.
-
I think he looks great up forward. just needs time to develop.
-
just got home from the game. my biggest observation was just how we butchered the ball kicking forward. mids did ok but just tackling pressure from Sydney was the difference. lastly. why doesn't the afl go the whole hog and appoint an umpire for each player? some sort of personal chaperone to penalise indescretions.

down from Northern nsw for this one. first time at scg. pumped!
-
He's so quick in close with his disposal. I reckon you've got to play him on that "basketball court" aka SCG

I was never on board the "let's throw everything at him bus". He just would hang his head at times and I doubted his temperament. However, I thought he played one of his best games for us on the weekend. His work rate from one end of the field to the other was superb and I'm now on board the bus! We don't need midfielders, we need Hogan as we get cracking towards a flag. -
evidently Ali had parkins... no parkinsensens
-
great quarter. geez the umps. dropping and throwing the ball seems ok most of the time now
-
I was at the gold coast game last week and TMAC''s body language looked really down in the first quarter. he was playing way off his man but put body pressure on his oponent as the game went on. he's the main pillar of our defence but just seems out of sorts at the moment. its like he's caught a dose of the Frawlies! We're lucky that Jetta is playing so well.
-
we shouldn't have won but what was the count? the 50s were ridiculous too
-
I would be happy with the 50m if he was at least sprinting back into defence bit nope. just jogging back. bring back Dunn
-
our backline is rooted
-
Just love watching this bloke playing for our club. can't wait to watch him lift the cup. Fearlessness personified

it's true that they umpire finals differently by letting the game go and putting away the whistle. it would be great to see them do it all season. 4 umpires would just ruin the game like we'd never seen before. there'd just be more free kicks paid and a slower game would result.
